  1. I went on Spring Break all 5 years I was in college and paid my own way each time. The first few years in the Ft Lauderdale area and the last few in South Padre Island. I wasn't a drinker and did not have S e x until I graduated from college. Did my friends get a little wild? Yes but most years I was the driver. We mostly stayed up late dancing and spent our days on the beach. It was a blast. I actually went on my first date to a "nice, formal" type restaurant while on Spring Break. I know, crazy. One of the nicest guys ever. Sent me flowers and whatnot afterwards. I also met another
  2. I haven't noticed it. I love pink so I will definitely be on the lookout for it. I've often told my kids when they are old enough to drive I'm thinking of painting our mini van some obnoxious color so that they will be easily noticed around town. Hopefully with a vehicle so noticeable they will be less likely to do anything stupid knowing everyone will know whose family it belongs to and report it to me. I got the idea from my room mate in college. Her parents and the parents of some of her friends got them a station wagon to share and it was decorated with all kinds of graffiti. She
  3. Got it, filled it out and it's sitting in the mailbox waiting to be picked up right now.
  4. Yup, my boys are both wearing shorts today. My daughter wanted to but ran out of time trying to figure out what shirt to wear and what to do with her hair and didn't have time to shave her legs so she has jeans on. This is the girl who wore flip flops through most of the winter.
  5. 3rd grader~~ all A's 6th grader~~ all A's except for an 88 BUT he is still getting a 91 overall in that class. 7th grader~~ all A's (Is Actually getting 100's in both Advanced Math and Science~~ Way to go!) I check parent portal WAY too much, especially if there is B hanging around there. I've told my kids if you do your best and get a B I'm am totally okay with that but if you don't study and get a B then I KNOW you could have gotten an A so I do ride them a little about their grades. Okay, thanks for letting me brag .
  6. I think it's cool that the kids play in your garage every Friday and that the neighborhood kids come and watch. My neighbor very occasionally sits on his back porch and plays various instruments like a violin and I absolutely love it. I know that is not the same as a teenage garage band but in case he reads this I wanted him to know I LOVE listening to it. Anyways, I will say though I would never have the nerve to approach the house of someone I knew to complain if something bothered me. I hope your son keeps playing though and I look forward to the day when one or more of the kids in
  7. Even though I have Kansas state picked in my bracket I am having a blast watching this game and will be happy for which ever team wins. I wish they could both go on!
  8. They need to send me a postcard. I keep meaning to fill mine out and then don't. I would do it right now but I'm not sure where I put it. Plus checking Paulding.com is so much more important . Just kidding, I totally plan on getting it out in the next day or two and I am 100% confident they will save money sending out those pesky postcards.
  9. Really? I can't say I agree. There is some pretty scary stuff going down in Mexico these days. Maybe a tropical Island off the coast but I just don't think I could stomach Mexico.
  10. I saw this last night when I was there and was going to post it. I know there are alot of people who are interested in trying it out. I am hoping to make it myself.
  11. Any updates? I'm praying everyone was okay despite what was thought.
  12. I am about 5 or 6 episodes behind but just love that show to pieces. I can't wait to see how it ends. I'm not one of those people that caught all those little things at the beginning like the numbers that kept repeating and other stuff. Now I know to look for stuff like that but I am still clueless about most of it.
  13. I had it TiVo'd and watched it late last night. I liked Lee but wasn't wild about his performance, I also liked Tim? (sang Crazy Little Thing Called Love) and the young guy. I think I liked the young guy last night because that Aerosmith song is one of my favorite songs ever. Of course Crystal was great as usual. I don't remember too much about Andrew and fell asleep while Katie and Casey sang but woke up and LOVED Didi. I loved how she sang that song. I love the way her voice sounded and was shocked that none of the judges liked it. I thought she did a great job performing it as well.
  14. I know you said one was an infant, how old did the other child look? It sounds like they were both fairly young. I have three kids ages 9, 12 and 13 and I'm wondering what you all think about leaving a 12 or 13 year old in the car (van)? My 12 year old will sometimes times ask if he can just stay in the car if I am running into a store for just one or two things or to get a video or some food. If the weather is hot I say no but sometimes I do let him stay there. He knows to stay in the back where no one can see him and to keep the car locked. Most of the time he comes in but once in
  15. I don't think she is saying it's excusable just that she can understand how someone might get frustrated. I've never hit a child but I can tell you there was one person that for two years one of my children had in class who was just rude and hurtful to my child over and over. My heart beat would speed up every time I saw this child and I'd just want to grab ahold of them and say a few things but I always smiled and kept it in. Now I didn't have to deal with this child 8 hours a day, 5 days a week but just thinking about how hurtful they were to my child (and probably others) would make my b
  16. Good Point. I hadn't even thought about that until I read your post. I would be especially ticked. I don't believe in hitting PERIOD. Which I know puts me in the minority around here. Meaning I don't even think parents should hit their own children but that is a whole other discussion altogether. I can understand getting frustrated with a young child and feeling like you have tried everything rational to get through to them but the teacher was wrong, way wrong. I do believe she may have been a good teacher. I know I had more patients when I was younger than I do now with other peopl
  17. It took my daughter two years of asking before she got her first American Girl doll and now she has several. Many were bought second hand or as part of a lot of things and I have to agree the resale value is great. One time I bought a lot of Samantha stuff for $100 from someone in Cobb. We really only wanted one of the items but it was worth it. I made a bundle selling off the items we didn't want. Last year my niece couldn't decide between three different dolls (for her Christmas gift) and not wanting my sister to be stuck paying ebay prices while she decided I went over to the store an
  18. I'm sorry you've received such bad CS from Direct TV. We've always gotten great Customer Service. A few months ago I was charged $50 for a service call I was told would be free but when I called they took it right off. Another time a few years back I realized I was being charged for an extra receiver that we no longer used but they corrected that by taking X amount off of our next 6 months. I do hate that they don't extend those awesome prices they offer to new customers or atleast give us a little bit of a break on the bill. We pay just under $80 for service in 3 rooms~~all with DVR
  19. My daughter had been telling me she'd like to try Proactive~~has anyone used it? I haven't looked for it locally but I may check our Walgreens next time I stop in for something else.
  20. I just came on to quick "check" on something and have been hanging out on here for a while now. It is just way to beautiful to not go outside and enjoy it. I know most of you are probably working but if your not you should really head out and enjoy this AWESOME weather we are having!
  21. OMGosh Lucky you crack me up! (meaning I love the way you worded your concerns) Very valid points though and I must confess although I don't drive a 4 door green car and I haven't been on East Paulding YET today I have been guilty of putting on a little make-up while I drive. Although I probably only do that once in a great while ( couple of times a year) it still isn't a good idea. So if you ever see someone in a white minivan driving between Bone Circle and Abney putting on some powder and blush it just might be me. Yeah, it only takes me about 25 seconds to get my make-up on. I pro
  22. I didn't think last nights episode was as funny as the one with the "exercise (cough stripper) pole" and the stuffed pet dog but I still watched. I did find myself wondering if they could come up with enough stuff to keep it fresh and interesting and I'm betting once the word gets out we might see all kind of interesting disagreements between couples.
  23. My thought may evolve into something more mature later but right now I'm thinking Jesse is such an idiot.
  24. While many of the consignment sales have already happened or filled up on sellers you can check out www.thebargainwatcher.com to see if any more are coming up in your area. I usually sell most of my stuff (and make the most money) at Due West Treasure Chest I have done a few other sales in the area when I haven't gotten a seller number at DWTC before they ran out. I would recommend getting on their mailing list if you can. I think the reason I do so well there is because they run their sale all day Thursday, Friday and then Saturday morning and are able to get a lot more buyers in then thos
