  1. Have you gone directly from the airport or one of the car rental places? I am guessing I would drop the car off at the car place near the airport, take a shuttle (hopefully free ) to the airport then get on MARTA and from there take the shuttle to Hiram? Is it fairly easy to find MARTA at the airport and the Xpress bus from either 5 points or the civic center? How much are MARTA Tickets? Just trying to price it out. My husband joked that it might be cheaper for him to drive us home himself, which is 650 miles each way LOL.
  2. Was it pretty easy to figure out? Thanks, I'll give them a call. Thanks for the info. I won't have any luggage since I plan to come home first. I hope to be able to get the car dropped off and return home before the kids get home from school.
  3. I had to run to Dallas from the New Hope area and the roads I took were completely free of snow and ice. I went from Old Cartersville then down Dallas-Acworth to that road just past the old courthouse~~Johnson or Johnston depending on which way you turn. On a side note I did see a funny snowman complete with a cowboy hat, bikini top and boogie board near the road. Very cute.
  4. I'll try them again. I was told by them person I spoke to earlier that they don't do one way rentals. Thanks
  5. I've tried to find this information before with out any luck. I'll be driving a rental car one way back from Florida and it looks like I will have to drop off the car at the airport. A taxi is just way out of my budget and I'm trying to find the cheapest way to get back to Dallas. I had hoped to use a place with a closer drop-off location but haven't had any luck. Thanks!!
  6. I hate that the bus drivers were put in such a dangerous situation but I also think the county made the best decision they could with the information they had at the time. I was here on p.com and several of us were asking "where's all the snow?" and thinking we might miss it. The radar showed like it was totally snowing here and the forcast people saying it was melting before it hit the ground. I am so glad no one got hurt. I could have seen the call going either way. My Abney child did get home a few minutes early and so did my two that go to Moses. I think I probably would have bee
  7. Nothing in the New Hope are yet. I distracted myself for a few hours hoping it would be coming down by now but no such luck. I guess this is good news for the schools and being able to get the kids home safe.
  8. Well, I was just up at Moses and on the morning announcements Dr. Bennett said she would keep the kids posted about the weather but that she hoped to make it though the whole day so they wouldn't have another day to make up. I was surprised to hear her say that because I was under the impression that as long as the day got under way it wouldn't need to be made up if they had to let out early. If there is snow I just want the kids to be able to play in it before it melts.
  9. I used to tell my daughter who was a slob that the tooth fairy won't come into a messy room which always worked for her. I can't tell you how many times though I would forget and have to sneak up there in the morning and stick the $2 bill under the pillow as I was waking them up. I must confess a lot of times those $2 bills got recycled when I wasn't prepared. They never seemed to notice. Now my youngest totally took the fun out of the tooth fairy. He lost his first tooth in his sleep and when I said "Where did your tooth go?" He just shrugged and said "I guess the tooth fairy came an
  10. I voted no. I definitely hope we get some snow but I would like for my 6th grader to be able to do his bibliography presentation, my 7th grader to turn in her family tree and my 3rd grader to be able to do the presentation he's been working on all week as well as getting to exchange Valentines with his classmates and friends. Once they are all done with that send them on home and let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!
  11. Yep, I'm pretty sure that is who everyone is talking about. The hottie from Target with the great hair.
  12. I know there has been a lot of threads about this over the winter but I just got an offer in the mail with Gas South, through Greystone to either get .79 therm for 6 months or .89 per therm for 12 months. What do y'all think? I've been meaning to switch and after getting my most recent GNG bill for over $200 ($1.089 therm) I am determined to switch today. My thought is to go with the 6 month rate since I have heard that the lowest rates are offered in the Spring and Summer and this would expire in the Summer. THANKS!!
  13. I would love to do just that and have thought about it many times. Unfortunately I don't think I could come off as sweet and since I'm not an old lady I just know I'd get into trouble of some sort. Way to go Granny!
  14. Stories like these give me nightmares. I just can't wrap my brain around stuff like this. Makes me absolutely sick!
  15. LOL Isn't there always! I'm curious to see what was decided as well. That is interesting about the adding on of 15 minutes. I too thought we still technically had "snow" days since the flood days were waived or whatever.
  16. OMGosh that is too funny. I always for just a split second have the same thought every time I that avatar too. And then I think how beautiful it is.
  17. Hope all is going well. I ended yesterday and started today with a prayer for Y'all.
  18. I don't know but my son was eating one of those boxes of Cracker Jacks and he got to the bottom of the box and said, "Ewww Mom there's caterpillars in here". I was like "yeah right show me the box" and sure enough there were little white wormy crawly things in the bottom of it. I Freaked! We were on our way from visiting family out of state but called the 800 number on the box to let them know. We also called our Dr.'s office. I don't know if they were maggots or meal worms or what but I guess they weren't harmful and are actually a delicacy in some parts of the world but still Ewwwwww w
  19. Okay, I thought of another one only this was one I kind of gave. For our first Valentines as a married couple I planned a couple day getaway to New York City. On Valentines day we got tickets to David Letterman. Cool, right? Well the "big" guest for the night was Fabio...... ewwwww (isn't there a puking icon somewhere?)!
  20. I did but the message I got said they were giving some away every day and that I didn't win this time but to keep trying. I think they are doing it for another week. Last year I signed up and got the free Universal Studios 7 day pass. My husbands employer had said part of his "package" would be a weeks lodging at Disney so I was excited. They never came through on that and the ticket expired. That really hurt. I know it wasn't actually that huge of a deal but still I hated wasting it. I think in the fall Universal had season passes good for the rest of the year for $99 and that is wh
  21. That Sucks. I remember when I was a kid and we moved into a house that was painted like a red barn and we had a matching mailbox. I think we had three of those babies juts plain stolen before my Dad just put up an old rusted one. Wasn't there a CSI that was about some kids who hit a guys mailbox over and over and he ended up putting a fake one filled with concrete (at night but put his regular one out during the day)? It caused an accident and one of the teenagers died and the guy was charged with some kind of crime. Again, this is a TV show but some of the idea's y'all are coming up w
  22. I didn't get it either. Maybe that was the point to confuse people into thinking about it or at the very least remembering it. I don't know it still didn't make sense. Maybe we missed something.
  23. A Dancing with the Stars magazine. Edited to add: I'm not sure if this was for Valentines day but one time many, many years ago I got flowers which were very nice. However the card said (and I still have it somewhere) "To my favorite wife". Hmmmm? Does he have some others stashed around somewhere. . . .lol.
  24. Thanks for posting this. The information I had was that next Saturday they were doing it. I guess I better get dressed and head up there.
