  1. We have been there maybe a half dozen times for school nights and never had anything but good service and food. I'm sorry to hear they have closed and my 8 year old is going to be even sorrier. He was always begging to go there.
  2. I'm pretty sure we had it in our family a few weeks back. We vacationed with a family and two of them had it confirmed. When I asked our pediatrician about testing for the flu (this past spring when one of hours was sick) he said there is no point in testing for it unless you come in the first 24 hours of getting symptoms because there is nothing you can do about it at that point except wait it out. I don't know about y'all but I don't go to the doctor within 24 hours of not feeling well. We have 5 in our family and that just wouldn't be feasible.
  3. I was so sad to hear of his passing. I attend West Ridge and had hoped to attend the funeral on Wednesday but was not able to. Just this morning in church Pastor Brian was talking about him and his influence and how God has a plan for Everyone! Amen
  4. I didn't know Ms Jesse was her name but I knew right off who y'all were talking about. Whenever I see her she reminds me of someone in Beaufort, SC where my husband grew up. I wish I could remember his name but he was a mentally challenged man who used to smile at everyone and sweep the sidewalks and streets in town. It was always nice seeing him and I don't remember him ever having a darker side. I even think Pat Conroy wrote about him in one of his many books on the area (Beaufort not Hiram).
  5. It's always fun to get mail but I have a hard time keeping track of the paper invites so I would have to go with the evite. I love reminders and being able to see who is and is not going.
  6. What about Warehouse of Hope? I know they help alot of people.
  7. Wow, maybe I should consider buying a bus for my next vehicle. That is crazy.
  8. Well, with Santa as their father flying must be in their blood.
  9. I don't see a problem with a teacher putting a digital camera on his/her wishlist. I mean it is a wish list and if I happened to be getting a new camera I certainly wouldn't mind giving my old one to one of my kids classes. Even as I say this though I am stressed about spending $50 on an electric pencil sharpener for my daughters teacher. I had no idea how expensive they were when I pulled that sticky of the wish tree! It really sucks about the furlough days but I can't help but think that losing 3 or whatever days of pay is much better than if they had to cut more teachers and increas
  10. I was just wondering the same thing. I pay my kid $10 a week in allowance and when the lawn needs mowing it's his responsibility. He usually only needs to mow it every other week and in the winter he still gets his his allowance but doesn't have to mow the lawn. Of course he has other smaller jobs then but still. Anyway, we are going out of town and I have a middle schooler scheduled to mow it while we are gone. I'm pretty sure that he won't be doing any trim or weeding or anything. Our lot is just slightly less than a 1/2 acre and not all of it is grass. ALthough there is a hill.
  11. Thanks for the reminder. It did start to feel like this thread was getting off track. I did not know of Micheal or Farrah's death until I logged on tonight. How sad for not just them but their families.
  12. Monday -Friday bowling is 97 cents at Stars and Strikes from 9-11am. Shoe rental is not included. Also you need to get there so that you finish before or close to 11 am. You mentioned you wanted to hike somewhere, well you can check out a park pass for the state parks at the library. Atleast you could last summer so you might want to check that out. You could use it to go to red top mountain and swim or hike. I'm sure there are some other state parks around that I don't know about. There is also a water fall not to far from Dallas that I hear is pretty cool. My husband took m
  13. I'm glad I only eat the raw Pillsbury cookie dough. I know it's not good for me and I usually have every intention of cooking it but well...... I'll be sure to stay away from Nestle anyways. Thanks
  14. Where exactly are you located? I would love to check you out. I live in the New Hope area but if you want to give directions from Hiram that would be fine. The only places I've been with a Powder Springs address are Sun Valley Beach and Cobb Pediatrics which is on Dallas Hwy. THANKS!
  15. My thoughts, my prayers and my heart is with you. I never met either of you but had followed your updates on Ashton and had the honor of meeting Tristen on several occasions at Abney. I am so sad right now and just wanted to let you know I was thinking of you and your family.
  16. Yes we do but I don't know all that many people that like to pay full price for their books and that is usually the case with small town book stores. I tend shop at amazon.com or barnes and noble for my books because I know I can get 20-40% off the books I am looking for and if I can't I go to ebay or half.com . I also take advantage of the MS library where one of my kids go to school (the librarian has a great selection of adult books) and lately I have been getting the majority of my books from paperbackswap.com. When I used to live in Beaufort, SC they had a book store I loved. It
  17. Is this at the theatre downtown? I was hoping y'all would have something like this. Just wish the Drama was more than 1 hour a day.
  18. I watched. I hadn't really planned on it but ended up watching it after one of my kids asked me to TiVo it for them. I thought it was sad. I don't blame them for the whole still being on TV thing although I found it interesting that it seems like Kate likes doing the show and Jon would like a little privacy and here they are doing the show. I can't bring myself to judge them the way some people do. No one knows what it's like to be in their situation anymore than they know what it's like to be in mine or anyone else,s. I'm one of those Mom's that can't get enough of my kids. I LOV
  19. I don't know how they do things here because my oldest is 12 and I grew up in Michigan. I was surprised to hear that it cost money to take drivers ed though. I don't know who pays in Michigan but we were taught through the school system. I assume the money comes from the state, via the tax payers but I could be wrong. In Michigan, atleast when I took it back in the 80's we took it when we were 15. We had to attend some classes that I think took place after school and we had to drive with the drivers ed teacher for a set number of hours in various conditions. One of the teachers taught
