  1. I'm 2099. Can't believe I've been here that long.
  2. Not really a 'story', but they spell it that way to emphasize the pronunciation of 'Dogs' vs 'Dawgs'.
  3. Last week of classes, I got pulled over for 'texting and driving'. I had picked up my cell phone long enough to glance at the time (I don't have a clock in my car) and put it back down, at a red light. Blue lights went on behind me immediately. He pulls me over, I give him the 'Seriously, I wasn't texting, check my inbox and sent folders...there's nothing there for over an hour' spill, and he decides to let me go. He gets in front of me, and in front of him there's a car that's swerving. He followed her for about half a mile, then turned and went the other direction. I get behind her
  4. I found out last night - why do bad things happen to such great people? David is, without a doubt, one of the sweetest guys I know. He was one of the most level-headed/responsible teenagers, and has grown up to be an even better guy. My mom worked with him at Ingles and we ran with the same crowd - his girlfriend is an absolute sweetheart. She seems to be holding together okay through all of this...I can't imagine being in her shoes. David, his family, and Kirstin (his girlfriend) are all in my thoughts.
  5. Wal-Mart carries RC cola. I bought a 6 pack of 20 oz's a few weeks ago, after nearly flipping out when I saw them.
  6. I've missed one exhibit since '06, and I won't be missing this one. ♥
  7. 1) Yes, it is possible to be struck while indoors. The odds are even less than getting struck by lightening while outside, but it happens. 2) You got zapped, but not struck. I was struck in June, less than two weeks before getting pregnant, and my SO was struck years ago while we were in high school. The whole band was zapped to some degree, with the exception of Dxh...Dxh was on drums and had on shoes. SO went completely unconscious and didn't have a heartbeat. Dxh's uncle was there and had to perform CPR. Afterwards, he couldn't move real well, lost the hair in his eyebrows, and had visible
  8. I have a Slumber Party tonight. After that, I'm coming home and fixing up a hampster cage for our new family members, and washing a ton of HR's old baby clothes. Oh, and trying to eat dinner without getting sick.
  9. I have zero problem with people of any religion building houses of worship in any location. :pardon:It's America, and it's allowed. Check out the baptist churches on every corner in this county and Cobb - nobody complains about those. I get that it's 'touchy' for some that a Muslim place of worship 'may' be going in so close where Muslims caused the deaths of thousands of Americans, but at the same time I feel sorry for most Muslims that they are now hated because of something a handful of douche bags did. 'Christians' have started how many wars and blown up how many 'A' clinics, and t
  10. I never used to say anything, then I started dating SO. He's the first to pipe up when somebody is actin' a fool, and I've caught on to it a little bit. We have some regular hoodlums in the neighborhood and just a couple of days ago a huge group of them were walking through the breezeway as I locked my door. This kid that couldn't have been more than 11 years old was mother f'n this, mother f'n that, saying GD every other word, and even popped off with p*ssy. I mean, in the span of maybe three sentence. HR's little jaw dropped. I whipped around and said 'EXCUSE me! Your mama may let you talk l
  11. Yes, there's help. Lots of help, actually. Facebook me and I'll walk you both through it. ♥
  12. Have you taken composition? Lately, I mean? Easy, easy class. Everybody in mine had at least a B or a high C. A few of us had A's. The only students who didn't pass were the ones who didn't bother to attend.
  13. I don't log on here often. Once every few weeks or so. You really should add me on facebook! But yes, I went to the beach for my 25th birthday and came home Sunday. Caroline did last 'see' me on a kitchen counter eating marshmallows and chocolate. And DGITW, I haven't even though about that. Right now I'm trying to dodge morning sickness, which has turned into all day sickness. Finals are next week and I have Slumber Parties scheduled for the next few weeks. So....I've just been busy.
  14. My bestest and SIL have houses like these, I think. You walk in and there's a room on the left, a dining on the right, and then you walk further in (in theirs, you walk past stairs) into another room. Both of them have a 'sitting room' to the left, the dining to the right, and the 'living room' is the one further in. I like the 'sitting room' idea, if you have extra space and money. Nicer furniture, etc. If I wind up with a house like that, I will have a chaise and bookcases...that's it. And I'll do nothing in there but read.
  15. Somebody give me better directions than 'before the arches'. I'm drawing a blank on arches near Whitlock.
  16. That's genius. Anytime Nev sees a 'Santa' out and about, she freaks because I have her convinced they're 'look outs' to make sure she's behaving throughout the year. She's thoroughly convinced that most Santa look-outs are truck drivers because the car is where she drives mommy the most crazy.
  17. Yup- they're correct. The difference is that KSU and UWG are degree-based universities where Chatt Tech and the like are diploma and associates based colleges and technical colleges. Financial Aid functions differently at both. At KSU, for example, the FinAid doesn't come in until a week and a half after class starts. BUT, tuition isn't due until then and the Financial Aid office allows students to 'charge' up to $500 in the book store, and then FinAid pays back the bookstore out of the funds before giving students their reimbursement. Chatt Tech doesn't work that way.
  18. How is watching Tombstone and Pale Rider considered suffering?!
  19. Mini-me has a speech impediment....I laughed. Unless it involves spinal surgery.

  21. So, if you work your butt off and miss the GPA cut-off by point-something (.1,.2, etc), you have a learning disability?
  22. I'm hoping Mary comes in here to clarify - People donate to her (I know I have), and she sells the stuff at low prices to whomever walks in the door and wants to buy it. I have no idea if she gives a tax write-off because I've never asked for one. She does, however, donate things to people in need, people who could use some help, and sometimes even just to kids with smiling faces. The is an incredibly sweet person, and I can't imagine her lying about a tax-exemption status. Birdmom's Thrift Store (same shopping center), also takes donation but I'm not sure they do pick-up. You can donate
