I smoked until I found out I was pregnant Fourth of July weekend. My SO flushed my smokes. I still have one every now and then - doc told me not to quit completely because it would shock my system and that apparently isn't any better for the baby than smoking...he just wanted me to cut back as much as I could. I'm still working on quitting 100% completely, but I'm around so many smokers that it makes me nauseous...a cigarette every once in a blue moon is helping with the nausea. And, for the record, I held my grandfather's hand as he passed from lung cancer when I was 15. I immediatel

Parents smoking at the bus stop..

Fer real? Maybe we just had a super laid-back bus driver, but we always put our cigarettes out right as we were walking up to the bus. The whole subdivision got on at one stop, and all but one of us (my little brother, actually) were smokers. Oh, how cool we were. -

I love it! -
I have a zillion things to do today, but also have training at 11...so 'things' have to wait until afterwards. 'Till then, I'm bored outta my mind, doing laundry. How is everybody?

Only one I have on the computer, I think. Because, you know, I'm so old now that I have 'when you were young' pictures. One on the left is me, at 5 years old in 1990. -
Lemme talk to mini-me and figure out what she wants. I have a feeling she'll want a pint-sized version of the net/beret type of adult hat you posted...I have a bunch of those and she's forever trying to steal them.

Those are too cute! I better have another girl.

At the end of the month, I shall be hitting you up for awesomeness. Can you make 6-7 year old sized hats?

I, as an unrealistically skinny person, have been trying to tell my friends that for years. 'I want to lose weight and be your size'....NO, you don't! We have health issues, too. Hey now. -

When my hair is styled and not just thrown into a ponytail, I have the Farrah Fawcett feathered cut. I had it done the afternoon she died (last year), and just keep getting it redone that way. Pain in the ass to style though. -
There hasn't been an announcement. The beans were spilled by somebody else, I acknowledged it in that thread, and it just gets mentioned here and there.

My bad. :snickers: -
Cool! She has a 6am wake up time, and gets on the bus at 7am. Why have I never thought about an alarm clock? If she's anything like me, she'll find a snooze button. Right now we pick out the week's clothes ahead of time, but all the rest sounds fantastic. That's pretty much what we did tonight - shower, picked out the week's clothes, packed her school bag, brushed her teeth, and sent her to bed with a stack of books to read by her gigantic windows. Her windows don't help any...her room stays completely lit until it's pitch dark outside. She says 'But mama, the sun is still awa

Ohhh, and I tried gauging bedtime by how she wakes up and decided that was a bad idea as well. Whether she gets 8 hours of sleep or sleeps straight through a day, she's still a cranky little monster when she wakes up. She'll just keep sleeping all day if I don't physically remove her from her bed.

He's a good daddy. Calls twice a day even though he almost always misses her at night, comes and hangs out with her all the time, etc. He came by yesterday just to tuck her into bed. His work schedule is all messed up so she can't spend the night with him...he's trying his best to make up for it by being under my feet pretty often.

It doesn't matter what time I put her to bed - 7pm or midnight...she lays there staring at the ceiling, jackassing around for an hour. This kid canNOT fall asleep for anything.

We're having debates over bedtime. Mini-Me started 'big kid school' this year, and I gave her a 7:30 bedtime with a 6am wake up time. Last year for Pre-K, she had a 7:30 bedtime with a 7:30 wake up time...and could have slept longer if I had just left her there. Her dad, for some reason, always waits until after her bedtime to call her. And everytime I say 'Babe, she's in bed', he says 'Whyyyyy, it's too early! She shouldn't go to bed until 8:30 or 9pm!' Opinions?

You should have kept a journal with the older two...I can only imagine the things that came out of their mouths as tots and preschoolers...lord knows they were hilarious in high school. Their Facebook statuses often cause a need for windex. Don't tell SO that, or he'll have something new to 'collect'. -
I'm Buddhist, but Christian music often makes me all teary eyed....especially this song. Gah! She did a great job though.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'm glad I have a new list to try. Is Emetrol OTC or prescription?
