Hey Bird Lovers...What the heck is this?
lilgallowsmama replied to whitewitch369's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Yup. Looks like that. Nev says it's 'ugly'. -
That actually sounds like a good idea.

That one makes me think of you every damn time I hear it.

I've watched Seasons 1 and 2, I think. I refuse to watch the movies until I catch up, which I doubt I'll ever do because I do not actually own the boxed sets. The first two seasons were good though.

I agree...minus the country music.

Bubble baths with a good book. I'm not one for sleep - I have better things to do with my time. However, since OH and I started dating a year and a half ago, one of my favorite ways to 'relax' is to take a cat nap cuddled up on the couch...even if we're only there for thirty minutes or so. Emphasis on cat nap...I can't do much longer than that or I get stressed about wasted time.

This is the second time. They're related, but not always one in the same. This was technically a TIA, which is like a 'mini-stroke' or 'warning stroke'.

I'm not judging him as a person - I've always loved him, even with all the shenanigans over the years. Technically, it's simple science. There's only so much a body can take before it finally caves in. Beat your body up for years, and there will eventually be physical consequences. He, himself, has admitted to beating his body up...otherwise I wouldn't assume. It just sucks, really.

This is one of those instances where 'karma' really does suck, if you believe in such a thing or something similar. One of those 'what you do eventually comes back to you' type of deals. He was horrible on his body for years, and now that he's straightening up....so sad. My grandfather died of lung cancer 10 years after he quit smoking. Crossing my fingers fate lets Brett hold on to his overly abused but recovering body for a little longer - I'm a big fan.

Little one will be going to public school for the next couple of years. Once we move to Savannah, she will be going to private school.

Things I've Learned (or relearned) in the Last Week

Lmao. I don't have nearly enough for a book. I highly suggest not pointing this out. Trust me. -
I'm not exactly sure how pictures, pet toys, treats, etc. could be infested with rats. Furniture and pet beds, maybe. I understand it being cleaned out if they're doing an overhaul of the place, but to the dumpster? I've donated treats and toys to the shelter...good to know the money I spent is literally going into the trash.

I still like the pillow.

North Georgia where? ~curious~

Things I've Learned (or relearned) in the Last Week

If they direct the cooler air up high (I have high ceilings, remember?) to the thermostat (direct breeze), the darn thing isn't going to turn on. And, it doesn't. Turn the fan off...kicks on within a few minutes. Every.single.time. -
Things I've Learned (or relearned) in the Last Week
lilgallowsmama replied to lilgallowsmama's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Had you asked this question years ago, I never would have thought you were a girl. The ceiling fan does what? Cools a room. If you cool the room where the thermostat is located it doesn't do what? Turn on. Thus leaving the rest of the house at an undesired temperature. My step-dad is an HVAC tech...I even tried to have him explain it. Fan still stays on, living room stays cold, rest of the house is hot. /sigh. -

Completely incidental. Had we used non-numerical candles, we had a firefighter on stand-by also. :runs away quickly: -

Rock on! That's about as far as I make it - the green thing growing. Then it does. Or, kiddo eats it. Maybe I shouldn't have told her we were growing herbs for cooking. -
Mom asks deputy to scare child into behaving
lilgallowsmama replied to dporter1183's topic in RECENT TOPICS
It never said the kid had behavior issues, it said he was getting into trouble for playing with lighters or matches. The mom was, apparently, having trouble getting through the child's head not to do so and why. Sometimes, hearing things from someone else makes things 'stick'. I see it the same as I do most learning experiences - sometimes it just takes a different point of view for the child to have an 'Aha!' moment and figure something out. My dad had 'the gun' talk with me and it didn't sink in, with him carrying one every day and all...my grandfather happened to give me the same talk a -
My little one, pre-sensory therapy, had to be restrained on several occasions to ensure that she didn't injure herself (or me, for that matter, but I got pretty beat up in the process anyway). If she were still having those issues, I would hope that there wouldn't be a law preventing her teacher from being able to do the same. It was always a last resort issue. I was properly trained in how to restrain her. It worked.

I guess it paid off? I was reading college level in 6th grade, worked at Barnes and Noble for several years, and have read 99% of the literature we're covering in college classes. Literature became sort of an obsession. Math though? Forget about it.

SWEET! Now, if he weren't in a teacher threat and impossible to search for later...

I was the exact same way in elementary school...until they moved me to the Venture program. I also had a nice discussion with the teacher about why I was such a distraction, and we decided that I would take a trip to the library when I was bored to tears. Then, the students could learn, I wasn't a distraction, but I was still learning/reading in the process. I spent hours in the Abney Elementary library.
