  1. Don't pick tomatos barefoot? Just pickin'. The only thing I can think of has already been said - bug spray like crazy. Get the wipes so you can get your feet really well.
  2. Yes, yes it is. But it's not considered baiting unless it's deer season.
  3. I was slightly confused for a few seconds when I got into my car after class yesterday. I knew it was on 95.5 The Beat...and the dude said 95.5....but he wouldn't quit talking. It took me a minute to realize they've swapped over. I can't say I'm happy with it - 95.5 The Beat actually played music in the mornings instead of yapping. I love talk radio, but not when it's my only choice and I haven't even had my coffee yet.
  4. I hope not. I think you have a huge heart. It's just selective, and that's okay. I used to be a very, very compassionate person. I wanted to work with delinquent youth, actually. I still pretty much have my ability to see the 'good' in just about everybody, which is why I have so many friends. Over the past few years, though, I've leaned more towards a 'cause = effect' view of things and have less compassion. That's probably why I giggled when I saw the pictures of Tila Tequila....you can only be so obnoxious and skanky before people hate you. Going out in front of mass crowds of p
  5. First 'job' was as a stable worker in Marietta. The owners of the horses would pay me to feed/water their horses and let them in the gate at night/out of the gate in the morning, etc. My first actual job where I received a paycheck was DQ in Hiram when I was 15.
  6. I know too many people who regularly rent vehicles to buy one. Folks do scaaary things in cars that aren't theirs.
  7. Parents would have to care in order for that to work. I'm slowly realizing that I'm an easy parent to deal with. First week of school, I sent my kid's teacher an email to let her know that my daughter is in her care from 8-2 every day, and I fully support her decisions and actions regarding my child and am always open for conversation regarding anything that could help make this a good year for the both of them. Of course, the email went out the day after my FIVE year old said 'son of a *****' in class. Apparently, it wasn't in the form of name calling, but more in the form o
  8. I'm not a huge fan of kids in general, with the exception of my own, and I think your little man rocks. Keep in mind that you switched pre-k programs late last year and he's had two completely different ideas of 'school'. I was also told by my little one's teacher that they are being hard on them the first couple of weeks of school and the majority of the class is moving around on the chart a good bit - they're doing it to establish discipline in the classroom. These kids have never been in this environment before - it's new and they have to learn the rules just like adults do when they ent
  9. I'm not a Christian, but I so love that man. I hope, if something happens to me, he winds up being the one to show up at my family's door. This is so sad. I remember being at EPHS and walking on eggshells the first few weeks of school because somebody always passed away except Senior year...she died over the summer. So tragic.
  10. I just watched the video...did you see the smirk on that woman's face as she introduced the story? I was expecting her to start giggling.
  11. My kid is a 5 year old Kindergartener and her bus stop is definitely further than just a few houses away - no view at all of the stop from the house. I never even thought twice about it - I just walk with her. In the afternoons, I walk far enough that I can watch her get off and we meet 'bout midpoint. OH! And there are several convicted felons in the area, on top of a sex offender. Who knows about the new folks in the neighborhood. People are .
  12. The other half messaged me this morning and told me he passed away. They were doing a benefit today and, as a paramedic/firefighter, he was on PR detail for it. When I talked to him a bit ago he said it was still on but it looked like it was going to get rained out. Alot of the guys up there knew him - small town and all.
  13. The oldest is now married to a girl who came from a family of 8. Her response to how many children she wants has repeatedly been: "We would be happy with two or three if that is all God blesses us with, but we believe that children are a blessing from God and we look forward to receiving each gift that He gives us."
  14. Personally, I think there's a big difference between seeking help where it may be needed and expecting (or better yet, demanding) it. But only 3 out of 100? Not likely.
  15. So...because Obama sucks, all democrats suck? That's one helluva blanket statement. There are good and bad in every 'group', whether political or not. I typically don't agree with most Republicans, but I don't automatically think I won't agree with any of them.
  16. See above. Doesn't take a genius, Caroline.
  17. She didn't fall out of it, she was delivered by emergency c-section.
  18. I posted this on my facebook earlier. I love anything Ellen does - she rocks.
  19. I don't claim a party. I also vote for who makes sense to me. I met Will at a rally shortly before he announced his decision to run, and I absolutely loved the guy. Had zero clue that he was going to be a politician...much less in my county...but everything he said made sense. I'm definitely keeping an eye on him...so long as he quits blowing up my facebook email. (Joking!...kind of. )
  20. I start back Monday. Expect a visit...with brownies or something. Now I won't feel like an idiot walking into a station of strangers.
  21. This so irks me to no end. Back when I needed assistance, I would pull into DFCS in my little 15 year old car and park next to brand new Dodge Chargers and once I even parked next to a freakin' BENTLEY. I thought for sure it belonged to somebody who worked there until I saw the lady come out and get in the car, paperwork in hand, yapping on her phone about how mad she was at the 'wait' to get her card. I could feed my family for a few years for the cost of her dang car. First thing I noticed when I saw the pictures from the Section 8 incident were the manicures and hair-do's. I mean,
