I wonder if they're relocating the one on the E-W Connector ....

You're welcome. But people need to be aware of these changes now regardless of when their licenses expire - if your license is lost or stolen, you'll need these documents to replace it, too.

OTOH, the rent in a 'much more visible area' might offset any increase in business. Maybe the residents of New Hope should find out what storefronts are going for in their area. That bit of information may go a long way in explaining the dearth of restaurants there.

Contact Rich Golick & Governor Deal - standing in line 7 hours
Riograce replied to Coppertop's Pop's topic in RECENT TOPICS
(Sigh ....) Why is the DDS enacting the Secure ID program? To further improve the security and integrity of Georgia's DL and ID cards and to be fully compliant with the Federal Real ID Act of 2005, which adopted the recommendations of the 911 Commission. The Real ID Act prohibits the federal government from accepting driver licenses or IDs issued by non-compliant states to board a commercial flight or enter a federal building. Much of their preparation would have involved hiring additional personnel. In my 25 years with DPS, DMVS and DDS, all in the drivers' services division, I can think of TWO brief time spans when we were adequately staffed. Customarily, however, the department has been chronically short-handed. I always worked in metro Atlanta offices, and there were MANY days when we had a total of five or six people to wait on the hundreds that showed up. Much of that is the fault of the GA legislature, who loved the revenue we generated but hated to spend more than the bare minimum on us. I've no doub

need your opinion about a roomate.for my friend
Riograce replied to spongebob69's topic in RECENT TOPICS
This is why, even between friends, business transactions - like renting a room - need to be conducted in a businesslike fashion. That means that the terms should be IN WRITING. I hope this situation can be resolved cordially, but the longer it goes on, the harder it will be to make sure that happens. The time to say something was *yesterday*. -
Go Blue doesn't live here any more - he just can't find anything like P.com in the Bluegrass State.

Unless it's moved, the recycling center is *outside* the entrance to the dump.

What kind of insurance company has AN (as in ONE) adjuster??? As long as they're paying for a rental, I wouldn't worry about it - it just gives her a little more time to shop around for another car. OTOH, if they *haven't* provided her with substitute transportation, she should call *her* insurance company and get herself squared away.

Today was the last day to skirt the new requirements. Go to the DDS website and make sure you have what you'll need to renew or replace your driver's license!

Have you ever considered gathering some other like-minded folks and starting one yourself?
-
None - I've never used them. I just know where they are because their building is located in front of Royal Pet Resort, where I take our dog to be groomed.

How Many Senior Centers Are There In Our Area?
Riograce replied to ButterflyLion's topic in RECENT TOPICS
As far as I know, Paulding has only one senior center. Cobb County has several. A web search for 'senior center [insert county name] will give you the information you want. -
Is it swollen? Warm to the touch? Discolored or bruised? Do you remember turning it or sitting on it in an awkward position? Have you tried any kind of painkillers? If so, do they work? Have you tried heat or ice on it?

I admit it: I sent a few bucks. One of my grandmothers managed school cafeterias for many years, and I KNOW that if I had ever heard of one of the kids in any of her schools messing with her, I'd have wanted to do murder. I hope the lady is able to retire with whatever Uncle Sam lets her keep.

I'm just trying to figure out why they mailed 'em out to those whose polling place did NOT change.

Take the photo to full screen and you can read what's on his shirt: Williamson Bros. BBQ. -
Get an extra Finger on your meal tonight or tomorrow.
Riograce replied to Chicken World's topic in Business NEWS
You might want to change your subject line to read CHICKEN finger. I have to admit, though, it *did* get my attention. -
If it makes you feel any better, the Red Sox are playing the Oakland A's IN Oakland on the 4th, so a ballgame would have been out anyway. The Yankees series doesn't start until Friday the 6th. Sox tickets *are* horrendously expensive, but if y'all are baseball fans you should try to see a game in Fenway at least once. I gave my husband tickets several years ago, and the outfield was the most I could afford. OTOH, he had a great view of the Green Monster *and* he got to see Derek Lowe throw a no-hitter.

Melissa Morrison for State House District 19
Riograce replied to Melissa Morrison District 19's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Actually, a Georgia license canNOT be used as proof of citizenship because they are issued to non-citizens who provide proof of legal presence and proof of residency in this state. -
It's a typo: $20 for an individual, $30 for a family.

Put on your reading glasses, lady - that's a period, not a comma. :-P

I have a couple of lovely wide crocheted linen scarves that I bought on Etsy. The patterns for both are kind of cobwebby and light - perfect for a dressy occasion.
