    Attention!

What are your hours today? The princess and I will try to stop in after work if you're still open.
  2. My SIL has a neuro stimulator implanted in her back. It has been a lifesaver for her - she had chronic back pain for years and finally went to a doctor at Emory who ultimately recommended it.
  3. Next to the moon, it was the largest object you could see in the sky last night. I used binoculars on the highest magnification last night and it was obvious that it was round and you could see the horizontal lines of the plant running across it. Pretty cool. I wish I had a zoom lens on my camera that could have picked it up well, but no such luck.
  4. Let me know what you find out. I can get my DH to swing by with a bag of groceries on his way home tomorrow night.
  5. I love love love my Lexus!!! 1. Remote entry and start. I can open the doors and start the car with the keys in my purse. I can lock it with the push of a button on the outside of the car. 2. Bluetooth - controlled on steering wheel. I never have to take my hands off of the steering wheel to answer or hang up a phone call. (I have my six most used phone numbers programmed in the car so I only push a button to call - never have to find my phone to do it.) 3. Roadside assistance. 4. Exceptional service - car is washed by the dealer after every oil change. AND, when I took it in t
  6. The reports from earlier this week said that they were at the Wal-Mart on 120. I've been by twice (Tuesday and Wednesday) and didn't see them either day. It was close to 6:00 on both days so maybe they are looking for shelter for the night at that point. I'm going to go by there during the day tomorrow and again on Sunday to see if they are still around.
  7. Some of my princess's favorite at home activities: 1. Cooking - she LOVES to help, especially when she gets to do some of the mixing. 2. Picnics - indoors or out. We even have a special picnic basket with plates, cups, and silverware in it. 3. Tea parties - she gets out one of her "Fancy Nancy" outfits and her toy high heels and we have a grand time (sometimes with apple juice and snacks, sometimes without) 4. Painting - If we're not doing this outside, the princess still fits into her high chair so I put her in there and she creates her latest masterpiece. You can even get a smal
  8. This raises yet another question. If a child is hit while walking to school, is that the school's responsibility? Personally, I think not, but I know there are people out there who would jump at the chance to sue the school system.
  9. Women are usually asked to go ahead and change into a hospital gown and sit in the waiting area prior to their screening.
  10. Of course it’s the school’s job to provide transportation!! There are parents out there that expect the schools to do everything for them anyway, so why not add chauffeur to the list? Seriously though, part of being a parent is to make sacrifices for your kids and to keep them safe. So, if you have to adjust your work hours to ensure that your child gets to/from school safely, then that’s what you do. I just don't believe that we should leave that entirely up to the school system, I don't care how close or far away from the school you may live.
  11. This is from a friend who received a message from his mom this morning (I've deleted the names since I don't know the family): "XXXX Update: @ 4:30 this morning XXXX got up and walked with no problem...He said he has no pain at all...he said he feels normal and is ready to eat....Thank you again for all your thoughts and prayers!!!!") ......................and I personally love that our 'Hornet Family' cares so much for others
  12. Actually, that entire weekend really isn't convenient for me. Can we just move it to the weekend before? No one will mind, right?
  13. Call 404-250-KIDS - the Scottish Rite Nurse Line. They will answer your questions and can give you an appointment at the Scottish Rite Immediate Care Center over by Town Center Mall. It's a little bit of a drive, but it doesn't matter if you're a new patient or not -- and it's a great facility!!
  14. Fortified Hills Baptist Church has a food pantry that is open every Thursday night. If your friend would like to donate to them, they can drop off the food at the church office (church is located on East Paulding Drive, just off of Hwy. 120).
  15. I have to agree. I will also add that having these memorials could also be considered a distraction. I don't want my life (or death) to be remembered as a tragedy. I think people should be remembered for how they lived, not how they died.
  16. 1000 thread count, egyptian cotton. If they don't have a registry, I would probably buy them something nice - like Waterford Crystal champagne glasses that they could use for their wedding toast. You could even get them a picnic basket and fill it with plates, wine glasses, silverware, corkscrew and a nice tablecloth - if it is something you think they would use.
  17. I just saw this article in the AJC - Glenn Richardson apparently threatened suicide again two weeks ago. The guy needs help. http://www.ajc.com/news/georgia-politics-elections/cops-ex-speaker-richardson-593684.html?cxtype=ynews_rss Former Georgia House Speaker Glenn Richardson held a gun to his head and threatened to kill himself less than two weeks ago, a Paulding County Sheriff's Office report states. Richardson's suicide threat followed a domestic dispute in Atlanta the night of Aug. 5, according to an incident report obtained by the AJC through an Open Records request.
  18. Praying for this girl and for all of those involved.
  19. I think the ATBA paid off Animal. They're mostly democrats. NWGATBA is too well known for their conservative values.
  20. I like having the political forum separate, but agree that it does often turn into name calling and insults (same goes for the religious forum). But, when I see a topic that I want to respond to, I respond to that topic and will continue to participate in that topic until the personal attacks start happening. Then I don't even bother opening it anymore and move on to something else.
  21. Maybe I see this differently because I've worked in a big law firm for so many years, but it isn't unusual to see someone jump sides in the legal profession. We've had a few former U.S. Attorneys and others from the Department of Justice come to work here and we've had some leave here to go to work there. I've also seen former police officers go to work for criminal defense firms as investigators and former DA's go back into private practice after they've left office.
  22. My "morning" sickness started when I was about 2 weeks along (I thought it was the flu) and it didn't stop until I got my epidural. I became a morning sickness master, I knew exactly where I could pull over on my way to work to throw up and the fastest way to get to every bathroom in our office, at the mall, and in most restaurants. I even carried small trash bags and mouth wash in my purse everywhere I went. I would stop, throw up, rinse, and then go back to whatever I was doing. I tried four different prescription drugs and every home remedy imaginable and nothing worked. P.S. I p
  23. I haven't been to Babies R Us lately, but it seems like they had them 10/$1 or 10/$1.99 - I don't remember which.
