  1. You start by reporting it to the appropriate person at your office so you can go see a doctor about it. After that, the employer files it under its worker's compensation insurance plan. Insurance company will contact you after that.
  2. I just checked out his website - he reminds me of Forman from That 70's Show. I may be going with plan B, the "eenie, meanie, miney, moe" decision-making process. It's on his Twitter site: http://twitter.com/AveryforGeorgia
  3. FYI: Neither Plumley nor Lane have any experience with the District Court for the Northern District of Georgia (meaning that they have not even entered an appearance in a federal case in this district). Donovan has had a few federal criminal cases. Granted, most criminal cases are heard in the state and superior courts, but I want someone with as much experience in criminal cases as possible.
  4. Out of the three choices, I would be willing to take my chances with Avery over Braddock and Stout. Braddock and Stout's reputations speak for themselves - I'm not voting for either of them (regardless of political affiliation). I think the seat is there for the taking if someone reputable is willing to step up and run.
  5. She may have "qualified" to run for the seat, but I don't believe she is qualified for the seat. She won't be getting my vote...
  6. The DA race is going to be a tough decision for me. Plumley appears to be more of a general practice attorney with no specific specialty. I've seen Lane in action before when I had jury duty - as a litigator, he wasn't impressive. Donovan - I know nothing about but he at least seems to have the most criminal litigation experience.
  7. Forget putting the pallet with the snake in the parking lot, if I see a snake of any kind inside a building, I will be the one in the parking lot!!!
  8. It's my understanding that they usually gather on a sidewalk or other public place close by. A permit would probably be depend on the city/county where they are staging their protest.
  9. I did some quick research on Fred Phelps - four of his children no longer have a relationship with their parents because of the physical and mental abuse that they had to endure as children. One son spoke of an incident where he was hit with a wooden stick 60 times and his brother was hit 400 times by the father. The mother sat by the bathtub with a towel to rinse off their faces of each of them while the other was getting his punishment. One of the sons was often left at home alone with the father and would chase the car down the road begging his family not to leave him behind. That just
  10. It's in the old Cotton Gin space in Hiram, except you now enter at the front of the building instead of the back. Oysters are very fresh and the service is really good.
  11. Rather than even trying to figure out whether or not their hearts are truly with Jesus, as weird as this may sound, I just feel sorry for them.
  12. Either a face to face thank you or a handwritten card would be appropriate. Then, I think the best way to honor that person's generosity is to pay it forward and then let them see that their kindness led to another kindness.
  13. I pay $10 an hour and always round it up (so if we're only gone 2.5 hours, she gets paid for 3, etc.).
  14. The new credit card laws may make it impossible to get a card for a teenager. If you want to teach your son financial responsibility, then teach him to pay cash for everything, not to put it on a credit card. By teaching them to rely on credit cards when they are teens, they will continue to rely on them throughout their lives. Open checking and savings accounts in his name with the same bank (preferably the one you bank with). Set a good foundation for him, and let him establish his own credit.
  15. I predict that the media is making a much bigger deal out of it than it is actually going to be (and I'm saying that from the office I work in on Peachtree Street in Midtown).
  16. Nope - me and my "amazingly powerful executive" DH don't need any type of jealousy to be secure in our relationship. But, you should probably remind your DSO that he needs to be focus on being a responsible executive and remind the woman that she was being unprofessional. He may find it flattering, but large corporations and firms have standards of conduct that everyone is directed to follow, it helps to keep the companies out of unneccessary lawsuits.
  17. I can add to that - just before my DH's grandmother passed away, she talked about her sister (who died many years before her) standing at the foot of the bed and talking to her. Just before my father died, he told me that my mother came to see him a couple of days before (she died about a year before he did). Neither had dementia or any alzheimer's issues. The Lord works in mysterious ways.
  18. The one thing I love about AG, is that I can buy matching outfits for the princess and her doll. But, the princess still loves to undress all of her dolls and leave the clothes off so we really haven't spent a lot on doll clothes.
  19. We were recently told by our CEO in a staff meeting that we should go "look in the mirror" and ask ourselves if we are getting paid fairly for the work we are actually doing. He felt confident in saying that most, if not all of us, should say yes. If we looked in the mirror and could honestly say that we weren't being paid enough for the work we do, we should find another job. Grateful or not, he's right. Unfortunately, my mirror is currently owned by my mortage company so I really don't have a lot of say in the matter....
  20. I don't live in this area, but please let me say - GREAT JOB!! It's unfortunate that our Sheriff's Dept. doesn't always get the credit that they deserve. Keep up the great work!!
  21. Angel Food Ministries did have some issues with Board members suing because of the salaries of the founder's (and his family's) salaries, etc. Because of this, there are questions about the non-profit status of the ministry. I also believe that it was one of the sons of the founder was sued for sexual harassment, although I'm not sure how that turned out. I guess I could google that but I don't really care about it. HOWEVER, Angel Food Ministries provides a week's worth of food to a family for about $30. I've never used them so I don't know the quality of the meats, but I wonder if

    Fat tax

<------ Fat chick here and I openly admit it (but then again, if you've met me, it's pretty obvious). We've hit smokers and taxed their tobacco, we've hit the alcoholics and taxed their alcohol. Common sense should tell you that if you want to tax fat people (as well as all of those others who make unhealthy eating choices), you have to tax the unhealthy food. A fat tax? Wrong answer. If you do that, what's next? A cancer tax? Why not tax those who really rack up high medical bills -- cancer will do that in a heartbeat. Speaking of heartbeats, why not tax those with heart
  23. Buy a can of static guard - lightly spray it on your tux (and on your t-shirt and socks) and you should be good to go.
  24. Don't remember the exact dates, but we filed our taxes electronically on a Saturday, GA refund (not that it was much) was deposited into our account on Friday; federal return was deposited the next week.

    Toyota

You're absolutely right, PSD. My 07 Lexus is involved in the two recalls for the gas pedal and the floor mat issue. I have received letters about both recalls from Lexus and Nalley Lexus even called to schedule the repairs (and provide a loaner to me). I will say that this is the first non-American car that I have ever bought, but I am still very happy with it. AND, what makes me proud of Toyota is that they are standing behind their product. They aren't making excuses - the President of the Company even told Congress that their priorities got out of order - instead of quality and safety
