  1. Only way to get out of jail time is for the judge to withdraw the order that has already been issued - that's pretty unusual, but this is Hollywood, anything can happen. I just think that it's pretty convenient that she is entering a rehab started by Robert Shapiro -- her new attorney.
  2. Missing Person : Virginia Little, 72 years old, black female, 5'6", 215 lbs. Last seend: West Ave, Dallas, GA at 4 a.m.
  3. I'm with you - just the thought of opening the link makes my skin crawl!
  4. That's exactly what I'm thinking - no matter what happens, a food ministry somewhere is going to receive a great blessing that they can pay forward to others.
  5. I posted a link to this earlier today and asked for votes for the Fortified Hills Baptist Church Bread of Life Ministry.
  6. Which is exactly what I've been doing for most of the morning. Thanks to everyone that has voted (and feel free to keep voting)!!
  7. I've seen Lane in action - I wasn't impressed.
  8. No, it doesn't work that way. Once you pass the state bar, you can practice in any field you wish. However, most lawyers tend to pick a specialty and stick with it (especially if they work in a large firm). Some courts may have special admission requirements (like with patents and trademarks), but you can pick or switch specialties at will. HOWEVER, do you really want a person with limited criminal experience prosecuting death penalty cases?
  9. Please please please vote for our food ministry. SouthernSavers.com donates money each month to a food bank. This month they are accepting nominations for the food bank that will get at least a $6,000 donation. We all know how our community has been hit by this economy and I'm very proud that our food ministry has stepped up and helps out countless families in Paulding County every week. So please, go to the following link and vote for our ministry: http://www.southernsavers.com/2010/06/time-to-pick-junes-food-bank/ You will be asked for the following info: City: Dallas
  10. This is actually one of those times when I wish the State and Superior Courts had their records online so we could search and see if any of the three have ever faced each other and what the outcome was. If neither Donovan nor Plumley have ever had a case against Lane or if they aren't actively defending criminal cases in the Paulding courts, why not?
  11. I only know how long it takes because I have to keep up with a 3 year old and still squeeze in dinner, laundry and all sorts of other things when I get home so I need to know how long I can be away from the stove. I guess it's like one of those useless trivia facts that gets stuck in your head that I'll remember when I end up in the old folks home in a few years....
  12. I've seen a couple of older attorneys decide to do it because they were in a position financially where they could do something like that and not have to worry about billable hours any more. However, a lot of attorneys fresh out of law school do it because they can't get a job with a larger firm because of their grades and the school they chose to attend. That's also why a lot of them going into personal injury, divorce, criminal law - most of those firms aren't worried about your law school grades, they just want someone to bring in more work or help them manage their workloads. However, I
  13. I'm not looking for a community activitst, a nice guy, someone with a sweet wife. I'm looking for someone who is going to actively and agressively prosecute cases in Paulding County. Who is that person? Of the 3 choices, I'm just not sure yet. I've seen Drew Lane in action and I wasn't impressed. But, I haven't seen the other two try a case so I don't know if they are any more or less impressive. If I base my decision on experience, Donovan appears to have the most criminal trial experience and is also a former police officer. There are lots of gray areas for me in this election -
  14. I love my gas stove. I'm not sure why it takes everyone so long to boil water - I've cooked on my so long that I know that it takes 12 minutes for me to have a large pot of water boiling and ready for pasta to go in. If I'm boiling water in a 2 qt saucepan, it takes 7 minutes.
  15. I work in Midtown - Is it wrong that when I saw this post about National Fairy Day.... well, nevermind... Guess I'll have to pray for forgiveness for that one!! Sorry for the hijack!
  16. I've read and re-read this thread several times and each time, I'm bothered by Rep. Stout's response to it. Instead of simply saying that he had clarified with Madea how the mailers were paid for, he made it sound as if she were somehow spreading "mis-information" about him. I've always thought that you could easily judge someone by how they react to adversity. In this case, there was no adversity. There was, however, a candidate who seems a little too sensitive about answering a question on if or how he spends our tax dollars. Maybe I'm mistaken, but this is definitely something to consi
  17. Did ya get some new signage for your minivan, LPPT?
  18. I don't see this as a witch hunt - most campaign materials indicate who and how they were paid for - this didn't so inquiring minds want to know.... FYI - "a very polished politician" -- those words always worry me.....
  19. Next disclosure is due July 8th. I did notice on Casey Cagle's campaign disclosure report that he paid Stoneridge $7,800 in January for campaign design services so if Stout is smart, it will show up on his next disclosure report.
  20. His campaign expenditure reports don't indicate that the campaign has paid for the thusfar, but the last report filed was in April and covers expenditures through mid-March. The one thing that bothers me is that his campaign donated to support Sam Teasley's campaign. I know that is perfectly legal, but I don't like that practice.
  21. I believe contributors (even corporate contributors) can donate services or pay for specific items (commercials, mailings, etc.). This firm could be using money paid by the Republican Party to fund the mailing.
  22. All of their clients are republicans and the national and state republican parties. I'm guessing that they are funded completely by the republican party.
