Are We So Satisfied With Our Llives, Here In The U.S.
LisaC replied to Eddie Bennett's topic in RECENT TOPICS
We have democracy and the right to vote in our nation's and state's leaders. Most Arab and African countries do not have that right. -
I highly recommend Marietta Podiatry - awesome doctors!

Okay, I just read this topic and realized that I was scratching the back of my neck at the same time....

"Debtor's Prison" Making a Come Back?
LisaC replied to LisaKW@bellsouth.net's topic in RECENT TOPICS
If a debtor is deliberately avoiding service or doesn't give creditors up-to-date contact information, then they most likely don't have any intention of repaying the debt - that's stealing and they should suffer the consequences. This is a rough economy, for debtors AND creditors, so why should creditors have to shoulder all of the stress when all they are trying to do is collect the money that is owed to them? -
I heard on the radio this morning that yesterday was elevator appreciation day.... I think someone got a little carried away with that one.

"Debtor's Prison" Making a Come Back?
LisaC replied to LisaKW@bellsouth.net's topic in RECENT TOPICS
The company is going to do everything they can possibly do to locate the debtor. They don't make up random addresses, because that does them no good - they are out to collect the debt and taking the matter to court is an absolute last resort. Some agencies do get carried away with the harassing phone calls, but the end result is that the debt collectors are paid based on what they collect, not on what gets forwarded on for legal action. If the debtor avoids service or doesn't appear for a court hearing, they absolutely deserve jail time - I don't care what the circumstances are surroun -
"Debtor's Prison" Making a Come Back?
LisaC replied to LisaKW@bellsouth.net's topic in RECENT TOPICS
That's not true. When a civil case is filed, service of the papers on the defendant is a requirement, not a courtesy. However, it is possible to get a default judgment if the defendant continually avoids service. What some attorneys will do, however, is mail you a copy of the papers that were filed as a "courtesy." That way, if you avoid service by the Marshal or a process server, the attorney can say that a copy was mailed to you at your last known address and either was or was not returned by the Post Office. -
1 Large can Dole Pineapple Juice 2 Packs Kool-aid Lemonade 2 Cups Sugar 1 quart (4 cups) of water 1 -2 liter bottle of Ginger ale (any brand is fine) Mix together all items EXCEPT ginger ale. Put in Ziploc bag and freeze. Let thaw 2-3 hours before using until almost slushy…not too much. (Chip up with ice pick) Add cold ginger ale. Serve slushy.

Bone spur, I need some advice from those that have had it
LisaC replied to LPPT's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Go see Dr. Charles Haendel at Marietta Podiatry - he did my surgery several years ago and I highly recommend him. I'm a major weenie when it comes to pain or even the thought of pain and he was very patient with me and answered all of my questions. My pain was minimal -- it hurt for the remainder of the day of the surgery, was sore for a couple of days, and was in a walking boot for a few weeks. I haven't had a problem since! -
I didn't realize this had changed, thanks!

If you're going somewhere where you don't need passports, why would you need a birth certificate? It's my understanding that if you're going outside of the U.S., you need a passport (even on a cruise). If you're cruising to a location inside the U.S., you shouldn't need your birth certificate.

Yay, I'm glad you found it!!

Go to your internet browser (mine is Safari). Type in www.paulding.com. When that page loads, the button should be in the top left hand corner - just like it is on your computer.
-
I'm sticking with my original thought -- talk to him!! Tell him what you've noticed with his yard and that now with the kids getting out and wandering, you are worried.

I just hit the "recent topics" button on mine and it shows them to me.

This is link to the the recipe that I use and it is wonderful!! http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/tyler-florence/corned-beef-and-cabbage-recipe/index.html

Question about using phone at work when all dead zones
LisaC replied to Davis's topic in RECENT TOPICS
It could be your cellphone provider. Before I switched, I got very bad reception inside our building with T-Mobile, but it's clear as a bell with AT&T. It could also be an issue if you have an old phone. -
Actually, I was being sarcastic. If the lottery were to stop being the primary funding source of the pre-k and Hope scholarship programs, they would go away. When these programs started, they were funded by the Georgia Lottery 100%, just as the voters decided. I believe they are currently still funded by the lottery at 100%, but the problem is that the profits have dropped so we've got to come up with a solution that will help these programs survive. I believe that it has and continues to drive the Georgia Legislature crazy because they have no say so in where lottery funds go - they go to

Let's cut off ALL funding for pre-k and Hope and see who REALLY suffers (especially since both are mostly funded from lottery money).

Again, you are mistaken and your conduct is considered discrimination under the ADA. Let me give a few real examples of what I mean: LisaC on the 25th floor has a severe tree nut allergy - please let me know if you are eating or re-heating anything with cashew or pistachio nuts. A paralegal on the 26th floor has a serious allergy to different fragrances - she keeps an air filter in her office and if someone has on strong perfume, she excuses herself from the room. My husband's receptionist has a severe seafood allergy - she has a sign in their breakroom simply asking them to clo

This is so NOT true. I've worked in the corporate world for 20+ years and this couldn't be farther from the truth. We've had people with shellfish and seafood allergies, peanut allergies, and perfume allergies and it has never been an issue.

Congratulations!! He's adorable!!

Okay, I've read the article and I really don't see the uproar. Again, taking 30 minutes a day for all of the kids to stop and their wash hands and rinse out your mouth is good hygiene - I'm sure it takes about the same amount of time for them to all have a bathroom break. The kids are NOT being wiped down with bleach. Just think of all of the germs that are being washed and wiped away because of it. As for missing out on bringing in homemade goodies, is that really an issue? Come on, with all of the junk that our kids are fed today, the fact that they miss out on Little Johnny's mom'

I'll read the article later, but my first reaction is that I don't see what the big deal is - handwashing and rinsing out their mouths sounds more like teaching them good hygiene (as a parent, I would probably send in a toothbrush and toothpaste too)... The princess's school has a rule in place that no peanut products are allowed in case any of the kids "might" allergies. The last thing I want to do is to do something to cause any child harm so if keeping peanuts and peanut butter at home will save a child's life - I'm okay with it.
