We have dropped to 49%. I am not sure my most recent votes are being counted. I click on my vote and before I even get that code thing typed in it shows the results. This hour I started clicking in the code first and I didn't even get to put my vote in before it brought up the results.

One Year "After the Floods" - Tuesday, Sept 21
brown*eyed*girl replied to MillCreek's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I remember that Sunday night my son hoping that maybe it would rain so much that school would get canceled. I told him that would never happen. I loved having that extra week off with my kids. I hated that people lost their homes and couldn't believe what I saw on the television and here on P.com. We were so blessed that only our basement got flooded. I didn't even realize it until a couple of days into the week off when one of my neighbors asked if we had any flooding and I said no and my kids said yes mom the basement is indeed flooded. I just never thought to check since our house s -
I was in there once and can't wait to go back. Great prices.

If you are having a yard sale today or tomorrow
brown*eyed*girl replied to Lady Raider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
$1,000 FINE!! That is crazy. I was hoping they were just cleaning up some older signs. Good Luck with your sale. I hope you are able to clean out a lot of stuff and make some money too! -
If you are having a yard sale today or tomorrow
brown*eyed*girl replied to Lady Raider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I would be upset if they pulled up current yard sale signs but jeez some people leave them up FOREVER. With no date it's hard to tell is it this week? Was it last week? Who knows. Just the other day I saw a consignment sale sign up in the New Hope area from several weeks back. -
Acworth man arrested for child porn/child exploitation

Sick, sad and depressing. -
I so don't agree with that lifestyle at all but... now that I know they are going to have a reality show about it I may have to check it out. I know that seems backwards but I'm just one of those people that am interested in those who are different from me, what makes them tick, why they do the things they do, etc....

Have you ordered from this distrubuting company?
brown*eyed*girl replied to Melody's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I totally forgot about that company. Thanks for reminding me. It's been years but I used to order from them with no problem whatsoever. Love their stuff and especially their prices. Off to do a little holiday shopping..... -
Who here uses Sprint as their cell carrier?
brown*eyed*girl replied to greg30127's topic in RECENT TOPICS
We had Sprint a while back and the coverage stunk. My husbands was okay but I couldn't even get reception at our house unless I was outside and then it was still iffy. Worst two years of my cell phone life. We live in the New Hope area. -

Thanks everyone. I am going to go check out the menu's online of all the places mentioned. Does anyone know the name of the new place in downtown Dallas? I wish there was someplace on Lake Allatoona. I used to live in Hilton Head and Beaufort, SC and loved eating at places where you could listen and watch the ocean.

Does anyone know a good place to go to get lunch and sit outside? I'm sure there are places here in Pauling or nearby and I have probably passed them by myself but for the life of me the only place I can think of is Starbucks at the Crossroads and I'm not sure that is what I'm in the mood for. THANKS!!

Well that is sad. I haven't even had a chance to go check them out. I don't really need anything right now but may have to head over in the next week or two.

I have this same issue all the time with my daughter. Last year I would actually fake going to work just to get her out the door. LOL She does good for a while and then she doesn't. She is getting better though and I commend you for taking your stand and keeping it. This morning I didn't think my DD would make it but she did. Your a great mom! Keep up the good work!

must read books, must see movies.....
brown*eyed*girl replied to NumberCruncher's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Books I recommend: A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini, The Help by Kathryn Stockett, The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls, The Time Travelers Wife by Audrey Niffenegger and The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo by Stieg Larsson. I recently read a trilogy called The Hunger Games series and loved it. The books in order are The Hunger Games, Catching Fire and Mockingjay. The author is Suzanne Collins. It is a Young adult book but I believe it is the only YA book on the top whatever and it has won a ton of awards. The Black Dagger Brotherhood series, well it's hot that is for su -
I'm heading to bed any minute now and will definitely say a prayer. I hope that tomorrow brings good news.

That. is. awesome.!!! When I had mine out I was not the same for at least 3 weeks. It was horrible. I was told that most people feel great within 3 days.

I believe he would have graduated in June and if he was starting college may not be starting until September. Or maybe he is going to set up residency in Florida before enrolling. Just because he is 18 and not in college I would not assume he is a drop out.
-
Maybe they didn't mean to be misleading but it does come across that way. Saying college age one would think he is in college. It sounds like if he just turned 18 (in March)he just graduated from HS. I wouldn't consider him a college student until he has actually attended some college. They are both teenagers and they should both know better but I say forget about the finger pointing for now and lets just keep praying. I've have been checking on this all day hoping to hear that you have heard from your daughter. I hope she is okay. My only concern is for her to hear that she is safe.

I could talk all day about American Girl dolls. My daughter got her first doll when she was in 2nd grade and just packed them away last year as a 7th grader. She hadn't really played with them the past few years but still liked collecting for her favorites. I think she wanted one for a couple of years before I broke down and got her one. I remember thinking well now we have the doll and not realizing that there would be more, many more~lol. I too thought they were way over priced but let me tell you she loved them and they held their value better than any other toy I have bought. My sons

In regards to the roadside cross where ZW was killed I think it is absolutely necessary for the kids to have a place to go and remember him right after he was killed. I drive by there several times a day and have seen not just teens but parents with their kids. There is just something about being in the place where someone you loved took their last breath that makes people feel a little more (I don't know the right word here but maybe its connected to them somehow. Now that he is buried I am sure less people will stop by theroadside memorial and will want to be where he is now instead of wh

Braces - what age did your kids get them?
brown*eyed*girl replied to dumbestgirlintheworld's topic in RECENT TOPICS
My daughter had them put on the Summer between 5th and 6th grade and got them off in January of her 7th grade year. She was referred by her dentist when she was in 2nd grade. We were lucky the Ortho we took her to for her referral asked her what she thought of her smile (it was a little scary to be honest) and when she said she thought it was just fine he said to wait until all her baby teeth were out. He did tell us most orthodontist would tell us she needed a set right then and then another later. I'm glad we met up with him first. When she went for a referral in 5th grade all the Or -

I second the Warehouse of Hope. My daughter also loved volunteering at the Animal Shelter. We haven't been since they reopened so I'm not sure what the policies are now. Lastly wanted to mention Last Saturdays. WRC (West Ridge Church) has whoever wants to help meet at the church on the last Saturday of the month. You eat some breakfast and then head out. They always have family friendly projects and I believe a lot of the projects involve helping people out in the community as opposed to just one place. I don't know if that makes sense but basically I think they help places like

Has anyone heard about two people found dead yesterday?
brown*eyed*girl replied to peeper's topic in Paulding County NEWS
OMG that sounds horrible. There is something I want to say but for now I'll just leave it at I hope they are okay and are able to make a full recovery.
