  1. Knowing a few people who have lived and still live in Vegas, I can say that just because there may be a casino does not mean the cash flows to the schools and projects of your choice. I've been to Vegas many many times, and love some of the opened minded aspects of the city. But there is a misconception I've found among people I've spoken to that think that the casinos put the extra money out back for the schools and local government to come by and pick up once a day and it's so far from true. Just something to think about when the politicians are making their pitch on gambling that's all.
  2. Some people would prefer to live in a shell. I meet people everyday that have no desire to expand their horizons in the areas of exploration, academics and communication. Thank God there have been scientist, engineers etc in our great country that have been hungry for knowledge. If we can waste billions of tax dollars on programs that are useless, tax money for worthless lazy people in this country, then we can damn sure spend money on a program that can inspire and be useful to our future.
  3. I'm glad my vote counted and I'm glad the TSPLOST failed. The politicians can take their taxes and money making schemes for their good ole boy friends and shove it.
  4. It's a damn fast food restaurant that sells fried chicken sandwiches with a pickle, not a warlord killing kids in Africa. If you don't agree with the owner, then don't buy the damn waffle fries and chicken sandwiches. This is America, he has the right to voice his opinion and you have the right to buy from the thousands of fast food joints across this great land.
  5. I agree in respecting our seniors , but that comes from inside and what I was taught as a child from my parents. There was never an instructional manual needed. Further more, the respect is due to one's age, the respect of them as a person has to come from me knowing them and experiencing time with them. Otherwise you can take that "respect your elders" crap and apply it to Joe Paterno, Jerry Sandusky, some of the sweet little priest doing time, and a few other evil old bastards. I knew of a family member that was elderly and he broke the bones of his kids during their time at home, abused the
  6. I can totally see them sending OSHA in to hand out fines for no life jackets and food inspectors to the fellowship halls to test the casseroles.
  7. Years ago LOW VOC (volatile organic compounds) were the new product on the market. They have low odor and are generally safe for anyone with allergies etc. To qualify for LOW VOC a latex paint's VOC's have to be less than 250 grams per liter. Most higher quality paints, those with a higher volume solids, qualify as LOW VOC and are not marketed as such. The most common product marketed for persons with respiratory problems. allergies, pregnant mothers etc are the latex NO VOC lines. To meet this qualification a latex paint has to have a VOC level of less than 5 grams per liter. The better brands
  8. I will miss the aspect of driving a two lane road to get home. I suppose it will ease some of the traffic that has become so bad in the past couple of years. I do hate to see how much land some of these people are losing to the expansion though.
  9. The last time I checked, churches are owned by the members, priest, minister, etc, not the state or feds. I am of the opinion that allowing someone with a CCP to bring their weapon into the place of worship should be left up to the place of worship itself. Guns and a CCP to carry them are legal in GA, any decision to practice a legal activity inside of a private business or entity in the state should be left up to the owners not politicians and judges. As far as I'm concerned whether or not to pack heat inside their church is between the followers, the leader of the church and the one they worsh
  10. One of the funniest episodes I remember was when Tom met some men in the building who were forming a group to get rid of the "element" in the building. They of course were some racist klan like group. Tom asks if he can bring his friend George to the meeting and they say of course, the more the better. George shows up to some surprised looks, and of course has to get up and make a speech about the bad "element" in the building and how they need to kick them out and he's on board. Then he and Tom are made aware that the group are bigots. Episode was very funny, and had a moral to tell as well.
  11. You guys are scaring me. I'm concerned that if TSA agents are placed at theaters they will find my extra large hidden box of Junior Mints when I try to enter!
  12. OMG I just saw Iron Maiden a few weeks ago and even took my son to the concert. I probably need to be de-programmed! This is the same Horse Sh-- mentality that was used on the west memphis 3 when they found omg... Pink Floyd music and don't say it! Stephen King books! By God they even wore black! Violence and macabre have been around for ages, hell maybe we can pin some murders on Poe's Tale Tale Heart for all we know or some of Shelley's work or Bram Stoker. Can we pin drinking and fighting on some good ole Hank Williams and Cash tunes as well? A screwed up evil individual is influenc
  13. I have waited to see this movie for months and even bought tickets for my son and I ahead of time. I was shocked when I awoke this morning and read about this monster murdering innocent people. I am still trying to get my head around the idea of people being killed just because they were sitting in the same theater with this monster. My heart goes out to their families. I will be watching this movie tomorrow morning with my son, of course this tragedy will be in my thoughts. As far as the discussion of someone taking out the shooter with their own handgun. As much as I support gun ownershi

  15. Funny to see him with the one man who help Georgians vote for Sunday sales of the Debils juice. This in turn has led to an increase in homosexuality and domestic violence here in PC, or at least that was the theory from Heath. I love getting these fliers in the mail, they have been handy for scooping the dog and cat's poop around the yard.
  16. All I had to do was check out her speeches on you tube. It answered my question, "what's worse than the sound of someone scratching a wire brush across my car's new finish?" There are classes , even online, that teach public speaking and even speech writing.
  17. Maybe I'm partial because it was my high school years, but I kind of liked most of the 80's fashion.
  18. I worked 12 hours today, driving from one side of Atlanta to another seeing my customers and then I drive home to check my mail. I had a long hard week and was looking forward to relaxing on my Friday so imagine how I felt. the envelope alone was enough to make my heart skip. To see it addressed to my family and the box down below that reads " Notice of debt collection and judgment" "Open immediately". Then I open it and see US District Court! My heart started beating so fast because I knew something had to be wrong. Then I look closer and realize that it's just some politician slinging mud! T
  19. I've heard people complaining as well. As far as I know there is a contract to sign with this provider. This will really suck waiting until the end of an agreement to find another provider.
  20. If there were one feature I would enjoy on FB, it would be a politics and religion filter on the news feed. I have close family that I want to read about 50% of their posts. The other 50% is composed of political and religious troll material. By choosing only important posts etc there is no way to filter out the BS. Trust me, talking them does NO GOOD.
  21. I think it speaks loudly when the the NAACP, The Sierra Club and the Tea Party agree on this issue. They all have their agenda and reasons, but I still found it amusing. I simply don't trust the political powers with our tax dollars.
  22. I think "gayness" is on the rise here in Paulding County and I agree with a local politician's theory, it's all due to Sunday alcohol sales.
  23. Personally, with foreclosures being as high as they are, the shortage of jobs, flag draped caskets arriving from foreign wars, high crime rates and public schools being underfunded. The last thing I am concerned with is my fellow American's sexual preference.
  24. I hope everyone is ok. I pass through that area a few times during the week and see accidents all the time within a 100 yard stretch. I just saw a pretty bad one there on Tuesday as a matter of fact. I always have my foot ready to break when I'm passing through. It's a very dangerous stretch of road given the history.
