  1. Her hours are the unfortunate ones...8am-5pm.
  2. My wife and I hate that Mr. Opportunity on the Honda commercials. I'd like to knock him upside the head.
  3. On the subject of commuting, I wanted to ask a few of you to give your opinion on routes. My wife has to be at work at 8 and works in Buckhead. Her previous route was to hit 75 and she was there in 20 mins. I haven't seen a quick way to 75 in all the times I've driven in the 120/Macland Rd area ( which is where we are buying) and I wouldn't even think of going through the bottle neck of Whitlock. From your experience is it just easier to work your way over to I20 or deal with the 100 or so traffic lights and retail traffic on Barrett to get to 75. We're up for suggestions.
  4. Comcast was judged as number 3 in a list of companies with terrible customer service. I wouldn't argue with that status after the years I have dealt with them. I've had technical problems numerous times, missed service appointments after I made sure to be home from work, and a lot of billing errors that have been as high as $175. They're comcastic!
  5. I've seen that show a few times and the one last night was disgusting. I notice there's two levels of hoarders, one that collects too much stuff and then there's the down right nasty ones that have the stuff and live in filth as well. How someone can even eat when the carpet is coated in cat litter and there's rotting food is beyond me.
  6. I appreciate all of the suggestions and even alerts on homes for sale. The wife and I have been working on getting one house in particular for a few days which is why I didn't pursue any other offers. I think we settled on a home in the 120 & Macland rd. area near Hardy Chevrolet. I know the area seems busy but the home is exactly what we wanted in our price range. I'm ready to live and shop around people who don't look at you like you're a crazy man when you say good morning, or wave hello. I was raised in Savannah where people walk into a convenient store and folks say good morning and a
  7. I have in the past mixed a spoonful of lemon with honey , tasted it from the spoon and then downed it with a shot of whiskey. If it doesn't show signs of letting up, another shot usually does the trick. Prescribed by a good friend of mine, Mr. Daniels himself.
  8. I always keep our feeders full. I love watching the hummers fly around at each other protecting the feeder. I've even named one of them Hank and he will come within inches of my face when I'm sitting outside under the feeder reading. My wife thinks it's funny to see a big guy fascinated by hummingbirds to the point that I feed them and name the little guys.
  9. I've grabbed the money left behind by someone in front of me and chased them out into the parking lot to hand it back to them. I've gotten some strange looks. I can't tell you how many times I've saved people from losing their atm cards in the machine. As loud as the beeping sound is I've stood there and watched people stare at their statement as they walk away. I even did it one time in the mall but was lucky enough to have a police officer standing in line behind me who grabbed my card for me. I once grabbed a atm card that was sticking out of the machine located at a Kroger and went looking
  10. Very good morning to you all. Soap Mom, good to hear about your mother. Everyone have a safe Friday and looong weekend. Today at 5 is always the best feeling, especially this particular Friday. I end work at 5 and have the entire weekend plus Monday to look forward to!
  11. Thanks for all of the advice and such a warm welcome. The houses we have picked so far have been in the vicinity of Dallas Acworth Hwy and Bone Circle. It's going to be one heck of a commute for the wife who works in Buckhead, but we really want to move away from the city.
  12. My wife and I are looking into buying a home in the Dallas area in the next month or two. I've lived inside 285 since moving to Atlanta 6 years ago, but the country boy side of me has made me realize I just don't belong here anymore. I like everything I've seen of the area so far, especially the people, who remind me of my neighbors back home. Are there any areas I should stay away from in our search?
