  1. So is there where the girls night out is gonna be? We're having a girls weekend instead - yeah!
  2. When they were searching way back when - the cadaver/search dogs "hit" on the area immediately beside the pool. I told hubs that she wasn't watching that baby - probably was on the phone or something - and the baby drowned and she panicked and hid the body. Those dogs are never wrong. As far as molestation/pinning things on parents - I'm so freaking tired of "i'm like this because of such and such". Get over it - as an adult, you can overcome and excel from anything you put your mind to.
  3. BE VERY CAREFUL with HcG....It is the hormone produced by the embryo when we get pregnant. I have 4 friends who decided to do this type of clinic together. Worked well for 1. Two others had ok experience, though one had gallbladder issues which her doctors said could be triggered by quick weight loss (the drastic change of diet, I think). The other one had a sensitivity to the suppressant. Both were told by their doctors that they had underlying issues that predisposed them to their problems. They stopped the program, cut out sweets/sodas/diet cokes/bread and watched their serving sizes,
  4. But, then, no lawyers mean that I wouldn't hear those words I hear any time I watch tv during the day "If you or a loved one........." Daytime tv is mostly lawyer ads and many are about meds.
  5. My father in law talked to my husband about it a couple of weeks ago...they're in Florida and have had issues getting one of their meds.....they sent my husband this sometime recently. I haven't really thought much about it.: My link
  6. My link How can you talk on a cell phone for 16 hours straight? LOL And, in the "quiet car".
  7. She's been found - and arrested. My link
  8. My link A California mother has lost custody of her 8-year-old daughter after she injected the girl with botox in preparation for a beauty pageant.
  9. $25 is my standard gift. This year, I'm a little miffed. Young woman from "step" side of family. I sent a high school graduation gift a few years ago, then a college graduation gift and NOW, we've received a "graduate school" announcement. I see this person - at best - twice a year at reunions. Usually only one time per year. I'm not sending another gift. High school - ok, but good heavens - next it'll be a wedding & baby shower - it has to stop somewhere!
  10. Yeah, I caught that too. He had a .38, takes a student hostage, but no one was endangered?
  11. Forgot!!! I wanted to see Steven Tyler's new video - that's all I wanted to see tonight......I'm not thrilled with any of them this year....all my favs are gone and now I missed the video!
  12. Didn't read - scared to - pageant moms are already getting colored contacts (not for vision), spray tans, brow waxes, "pageant flippers" (fake teeth), hair insert things - all for little girls under 8 -so, botox was the next thing I guess. Sorta like the nose jobs/ear jobs because they think the kids will be "bullied".
  13. Pitocin is the PITS! Good luck to you! You'll forget it as soon as you hold that precious baby! (Well, actually, you'll embellish the story and hold it over his head for the rest of his life, but, that's called being a mom!)
  14. Saw it last Friday as we turned from 120 onto 92, but, wasn't sure what it was.....Now that I know - I'll be there!
  15. When the first phases of the new Healthcare Reform rolled out in the fall, all new health insurance plans and health insurance plans which have significant changes must include preventive care and services without additional charges to members. In other words, health insurance plans may not apply copays, deductibles, or other charges to preventive services and care. “Grandfathered” health insurance plans, health insurance plans that are already in place do not make any significant changes, may still continue charging members for preventive services and care for now. So, maybe your insurance m
  16. I've sat and read through all the posts this morning - didn't sleep well last night, can't seem to get going - anyway - we went to a 5th of May family oriented cookout/party (can't spell in spanish and don't want to look it up) - mingling - conversations were so much about school. One teacher - who I found out is retiring next year at a young age - was saying that many of the kids taking honors have no business in honors, that the parents push them into honors in hopes of scholarships or sometimes because their friends kids are in honors & it's almost like a keeping up with the Jones type
  17. My link Former Gov. Roy Barnes has been a longtime proponent of national tests. He has pointed out that while students' scores on the state CRCT are high, when the National Assessment of Educational Progress samples those same students, they score quite low. That's because the state sets the bar so low on its tests for political reasons, Barnes has said.
  18. First, I think putting all this on the news is doing nothing but inflaming the general public. But, like a car wreck, I can't help but look. I read the story as reported - my take, no one should be laying a hand on kids; HOWEVER, horseplay will happen, accidents will happen - a kid raised properly would have stopped, apologized & cleaned up the mess - the teacher would have been much more apt to respond with "accidents happen". A parent saying picking up the tray of food that their child knocked off is DEMEANING? The thing that scares me most - these kids whose parents are not holding
  19. Doesn't a "national curriculum" bother anyone but me? I already feel as if too much has been taken away from the teachers and we "teach the tests".....Talk about cookie cutter education - I feel a national curriculum would be just that.
  20. I'm sorry this is happening to all of these kids...But, WHY is it happening? I've read thru all the threads - I mean, what happened this year?
  21. The tests should be generally the same, in my opinion. A GED is (supposedly) the equivalent of a high school diploma.
  22. Ours is EXACTLY the same as last year. I didn't want to open it - I made hubs do it when it came in on Saturday. I guess unchanged is the best we could hope for????

  24. I know I have at least 3 because I've seen 3 at a time at the feeders on a regular basis
