I find 22 "licks" a little excessive. That said - I used a wooden spoon when he was younger. 3 licks - always on the bottom and always after other "consequences" didn't work - i.e. removal of games/tv/timeout. I spanked him in a WallyWorld one day (throwing himself on the floor & knocking things off of a shelf) & had a woman confront me about it - I asked if she had kids - which she didn't - and told her to talk to me again when she did. I will tell you that I was pretty certain she planned to call the police, but, I continued with my shopping - with a better behaved child. 22 lick

is ther no one who needs a giant plastic liquid dispenser?

That will absolutely be the very last time on this earth that I google anything you guys mention that I'm not sure of the slang. I'd rather remain naive to the "new" slang terms/usage. There is not enough clorox to bleach that from my brain. -
Honda Pilot paid for.....Gas would have to get high enough to equal a car payment before I'd consider it.

We're on phase II with Dr. Depew. My son has loved his staff! The staff was my deciding factor after we'd had 4 different consultations and all the prices were close - a couple of treatment plans differed - but, since he's the one that has to sit in the chair, I wanted him to be comfortable. DePew's staff is awesome!

Police wanted to issue an "Amber Alert," but as of Monday night the government administrators of the Amber Alerts, which in Georgia is the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, were telling them no. "The Amber Alert was refused because it could not be determined that the missing juvenile was taken by force," Gwinnett County Police Corporal Edwin Ritter wrote in an email to 11Alive News

I order from my cousins litte girl in Virginia, too. They sent them USPS - wasn't too bad. My husband wants to know when the deliveries quit - lol. Their Moms want you in the same situation they are in - lol

Come on, JJ - you CAN do it! You Can! Get some sugar free candy and keep one in your mouth all the time. Try carrying a pen/pencil and hold the darn thing in your fingers like a smoke. Drink LOTS of water (even though you're tempted to have something MUCH stronger - lol). Do this for you. You will receive the most benefits!

Astigmatic, dry eyes & scar tissue in my left eye. Have finally found THE contact that NEVER bothers me. Air Optix by Ciba. My eye doctor worked with me by giving me samples in my prescription of several different ones for astigmatism that are supposedly helpful with dry eyes.

I think the confusion comes from the different programs - and, there are 100's and 100's of "programs" for the disenfranchised. I should know - my sister has found them all. Anyway, here's a start. A rabid animal will usually show no fear of humans, will be acting agressively or drooling or disoriented. They will charge humans at times. January & Feb is mating season for the red fox. The animal was probably killed for nothing. Sad. I learned a lot about foxes when a neighbor reported seeing coyote - which turned out to be a fox couple with kits in the woods. She was freaking because she saw this coyote early in the mornings and late in the afternoons and thought it must be rabid because it was during the day.

GOOD LUCK!!! And, after spending 2 days with a 51 year old friend last week after they'd had a stroke - I applaud your decision with even more enthusiasm! Drink alot of water & natural juices, keep toothpicks handy, gum didn't really help me, but I know it helps others. I took to carrying around ink pens - just having something in my hand seemed to help. And, it may be awhile before the smell of smoke doesn't make you nuts to light one. I quit in November '91 when my now hubby said it was the cigarettes or him. Think I made the right choice! Again, Good Luck! Hubby

Am I the only gal on Pcom that doesn't like Valentines day?
onekidmom replied to dawneykids's topic in RECENT TOPICS
A friend emailed me this. At least, we are free to acknowledge or ignore Valentine's Day. My link In recent years, authorities have sometimes searched hotel rooms on the night of Feb. 14 to catch Muslim couples having premarital sex. According to Malaysia's Islamic Shariah laws, unmarried Muslims who meet in private can be charged with "khalwat," or "close proximity," which carries fines and prison sentences of several months. -
GA Christian Coalition Tries New Tactic to Stop Sunday Alcohol Sales
onekidmom replied to zoocrew's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Born & raised in Georgia - remember well when nothing was open on Sundays. Didn't mean we went to church every Sunday - simply meant we spent the entire day as a family usually at my Grandma's with all the extended family - eating, playing football & badmitten. That said, I'd had a discussion re: Bible Belt a while back and was amused to find a study that covered reported church attendance (church/mosque/synagogue) showed a weird "belt". The Christian Coalition representing all Christians is sorta like what the ACLU, NAACP, etc. as well as government - not speaking for the maj -

I don't really care for Valentine's day. I do give my guys cards & treats, but, we just don't go all out with it. Before kid - lol - we did a couple of "romantic weekends" at B & B's in the mountains that I liked, but, heck, the crowds trying to have "romantic" dinners all on the same day - forget it - we now just cook a favorite meal together and exchange cards.....I caught my kiddo making origami flowers today so I'm sure I'm getting a bouquet! He makes me things or does things like spell out I "heart" U, Mom in M&M's. I don't see why valentines seems to be all about the fema
