  1. I too recommend Felix Family Lights. If you have a facebook go like them. I hear Santa will be there tonight and they are also raising money for someone/something special this weekend.
  2. Next Thursday is the last day of school for 2012
  3. We are looking to dispose of a leaky washer today and I had to search for this thread . ? Is Alsobrooks the name of the recycling center or is it off of Brooks? I live in the New Hope area and am not familiar with that part of the county.
  4. Wow, I had no idea that Far Cry 3 was like that. I hadn't even heard of it until my 9th grader added it to his Amazon wishlist last night. I may have to say no to that one.
  5. Miracle Whip. I know it's "technically" a dressing but I don't know anyone who has ever used it as such and it is what my parents and grandparents referred to as Mayo and used on our sandwiches.
  6. Definitely try this first. My older son has had success with this as well. I will say he is insanely careful of his games these days but when he was younger there was a learning curve.
  7. There is a place that we found online that fixes discs for a great price. You do have to mail it in and wait. I will see if I can find the name of it. Whatever deal they had when we used them it got cheaper the more discs you sent in so we sent in a few older games as well that had been scratched. When they came back they looked brand new. The game my son was most concerned about as well as one of the other two games worked great. The Wii game we sent in didn't but I think it has more to do with the Wii than the game because it doesn't read hardly anything anymore so we just use it for N
  8. I have read awesome reviews for The Computer Guy but have used Nick several times over the past few years because his prices were so much better. Most of the times Nick fixed our computers it only cost $40 and never more than $70. Before him we paid one time for someone to remove a virus for us and it was $100 +. I was so grateful when we discovered Nick. It was the difference in getting something fixed within a few weeks and just not getting it fixed. We now have 1 desktop and 5 laptops in the family and I will miss having him available. I understand his reasons as well though and I thi
  9. Thanks for posting this. Maybe it is the Christmas season but I was picturing the bunny pj's in The Christmas Story when I read about A's costume. I bet she looked adorable! Still praying for you all and love to hear the updates, large and small.
  10. This isn't a thing but the other day I was out and about and not feeling well and was wishing there was a gas station near by that I could pay a few extra cents to to come pump for me. I'm sure there are a few around somewhere but I haven't noticed one in a while.
  11. Andrew's presence was definitely felt this morning at church. My heart is still broken not only for Courtney, Carson, Noah and Hallie but also for all of us whose lives were touched by him. I am looking forward to the memorial service on Tuesday and being able to celebrate his life.
  12. Went to Wal-mart and Target. I was hoping to get an Xbox 2K13 game that my son wants (he has birthday money but I didn't want him spending $60 on a game that was going to be on sale for $25 that day). I was also hoping to get the Skylanders Starter pack for the Xbox but missed out on that also. One of my other kids wanted to go to Target to get the Xbox points that are usually $19.99 for $10. Wal-mart price matched them for me but Target wouldn't price match the game and starter pack so that was kind of a bust. I still had fun and got a few things. Went home and slept and then hit JC
  13. I bought a couple boxes of the chocolate filled Twinkies the other day when I couldn't find any regular ones. They were for my son but I think he has decided he doesn't want them. I did check ebay a few days back and was shocked to see an auction at $56 for two boxes and one at $51 for one box. Neither had closed and there were several buy it now auctions for $19.99 that had not been bought. Not sure why when people were over bidding on the other auctions but maybe they had insane shipping charges. Not planning to sell the two we have but I will return one or both if they announce th
  14. Voted! Be careful though, when I clicked on the link it automatically had the other school checked so be sure to check South Paulding before typing in the code and submitting. Best of luck!!
  15. My kids have always attended public schools. Kid #2 did attend GCA (Georgia Cyber Academy/Online School), but it is still considered a public school. It was great to have that option when we needed it. We couldn't have afforded private school or even private homeschool. I always dreamed of taking a year off and traveling around the US for a year and teaching the kids that way. It just didn't work out for us though. I am not surprised by the experiences shared here about private schools. I remember in High School spending the day with a friend that attended Christian school and
  16. I hit seven places after reading this trying to find a box of regular old Twinkies for kid #2. He always gets a box for Christmas. not this year. I did get the last box of Chocolate filled Twinkies (as back-up), a bag of powdered donuts (for Kid #3) and a single pack of the cupcakes (which I ate in the car~yum) from one Publix. At Wal-mart they still had some cookies and muffins but I passed. The Publix on Dallas-Hwy got wiped out early yesterday apparently. I did find a bag of the chocolate donuts for Kid #1 at Kroger. Walgreens and RIte Aid had nothing as well. Wish I could have
  17. Nick has done great work on our computers. If he doesn't fix cracked screens check out DayTech. They are a husband and wife team not to far from EPHS (across the street in that strip mall). When I needed the screen on my cell phone changed they were by far the best priced. I also liked that they were local (graduates of EPHS).
  18. I don't have an answer for you but I hope you get there in time. I am also hoping the football players won't have to wait for buses to get back from their route before leaving. Is it just that there are not enough buses or drivers? Just curious. Looking at Google maps it looks like without traffic it is between 1 and 38 minutes to 2 hours depending on which route is taken (3 are given). I would add at least an hour if they take any interstate. That stinks. I have a band kid and I know it would bum her out to miss the game or any part of it (just how much would depend on how cold it i
  19. My daughter also went to Dr. Singleton (Orthozone) when she had braces. I think we went to 4 different ortho's before deciding. My son is getting ready to get braces in the next year and although I plan to use him again I still recommend visiting at least 3 before making your decisions. Consultations should cost you nothing. Dr. Singleton (Orthozone) does have three locations all of which are convenient to us ~Hiram, Across from the Avenue and on Cobb Pkwy in Kennesaw (across from the Wal-mart).
  20. I was pretty excited to be having Zaxby's until I saw what your eating. That looks yummy!!
  21. I don't know about whose on the bottom or top but the website says the higher ranked team hosts. It looks like on the higher ranked teams are on the top of each game and the lower is on the bottom. I haven't looked at the HS brackets in the past so I don't know if this is a change.
