  1. I'm heading to Myrtle Beach this weekend with my sister, my daughter and my niece to see a boy band play at the House of Blues and was just looking for a place to stay Saturday night. It looks like there are 100's of places to choose from so I thought I'd come on here to see if anyone has a place they recommend. Since we will only be there for just one night I'd like to be close to the beach and/or have a pool. We don't need anything fancy.
  2. When my husband was looking for a job earlier this year the majority of his interviews were on Skype. I thought it was pretty great and I loved that he wasn't wasting time and gas driving all over. He didn't have to worry about getting stuck in traffic or showing up only to find out the person who he was to interview with was late or had an emergency come up.
  3. While we don't have a Tempur Pedic we have, based on Amazon reviews a very, very similar mattress. When we got it we had been sleeping on a cheap mattress and both my husband and I would have to take something before going to bed to help with the pain we'd wake up on after sleeping on it, if you called what we got sleep . That immediately went away when we switched mattresses. At first I would say that I slept less but much better so that when I woke up I was rested but if I had not been I would not have been able to go back to sleep. I haven't found it any hotter than our other bed. I've
  4. I haven't had Gel nails in years but every now and then I take my daughter and we get our nails done at Kay Nails in New Hope. It is by Johnny's Pizza. What I like about them is that if you tell them you want to support EPHS BAND they keep a book and will write down what you spent and give 10% back to the band program. Her son is in the band. I believe the owner Kay, works everyday except Wednesdays and Sundays. Last time I was there was a lady next to me who was pretty old. Her family was having a big birthday party for her and had dropped her off to get her nails done. She was gettin
  5. Sometimes that is the loneliest place of all. I'll be praying for you.
  6. I'm trying to think of the next bit of confusion I ran into and I think it was the numbered "balls", You may be able to tell right off the bat they are bombs but I didn't until one of them exploded. The number on them will represent how many turns you have to get rid of those before they explode and end the round. Also, it took me forever to figure out which way the striped candies would clear a row - across or down. Finally my sister figured it out. It is what ever way the stripes are going. That's all I got for now, don't want to scare you away with details on chocolate maker
  7. I got the same call two days ago. Ironically enough my computer had been running insanely slow the previous few days. I knew better than to give him access to my computer so I told him I wasn't home but asked if I could get a number to call back. He gave me one but said they would also thry to call me the next morning at 10:00 am. I then did some googling and saw on a Mircrosoft forum that they get calls about this everyday and that it is a scam. That they would never call and ask something like this. I briefly thought about calling the authorities and giving them the number I got but de
  8. Not sure if this is a legitimate question or not but when I first started playing I tried to figure out what the jellies were and decided they were on the of the candies that most resembles jelly beans. I couldn't figure out how I passed some levels without getting them all and was frustrated when I would finally get them all only to have more drop down. SO, if you indeed do not know like I didn't, they are the squares with a milky background. I hope that helps.
  9. I play. There was one level I was stuck on for @ two months (level 147 I believe). I refused to buy power ups as well. I think 2-3x I've paid the .99 cents for five extra turns when I've been stuck for a while and could see where I only needed one or two moves to be done and move on but that is only after being stuck for days and if I can see a way to be done. I usually play on my phone and noticed when I went to play on my lap top that some of the things you pay for people have given me for free and I can use on the computer. I still prefer to play on my phone while I'm on hold, waiting
  10. I know in another thread I said that Georgia Cyber Academy provided everything except paper and pencil when one of my kids was enrolled. I guess I should clarify. They sent us all the stuff we needed education wise. Please don't think for one second I didn't supply my son with binders, folders, tab dividers, a dry erase board with markers, etc... anything he needed to help him be organized and do his best. Actually I didn't need to buy much of everything because we already had this stuff in the extra supply stash I keep for my kids and teachers thanks to those supply lists you have so much
  11. I've been a Moses Mom for five years and we have always gotten at the very least a home room assignment at Open House and if memory serves our schedules as well. High School is different. I have heard horror stories from my North friends - no schedules ready at Open House, kids with two of the same class for two weeks, another with a blank period. The first year we were at East my daughter got her schedule over the Summer, then last year not until Open House. Both my kids were stuck in the wrong class for the first week until my husband went in and refused to leave until my daughters was c
  12. There is just not enough time or enough words to respond to all the ignorance spread throughout this thread. To the OP: I think that this list is more of a wishlist. It says required to get the best response. I also don't think the backpack and lunch are meant to be shared. As far as the name brand goes I used to be the one buying all the cheap stuff for school. Then one day I used one of those Ticonderoga pencils and it was a beautiful thing. Those cheap ones were constantly breaking but the Ticonderoga would not need to be sharpened until the lead wore down and they last forever.
  13. I did see where they had new "memberships" when I was online yesterday. You pay a monthly fee for a minimum of twelve months and can stop at any time after that. I didn't realize that they replaced the season passes though. I thought it was just another option. We also bought the combo pass with parking and a gold membership last fall for this year. I think it was less than $50/person. I will not be happy if this new deal costs me more than what I've been paying.
  14. I think your putting way more thought and meaning into this than most people. It's quite simple really, a prince and a princess (or duchess, whatever) had a baby. How fun. Isn't it just nice to have some happy news for a change.
  15. Thoughts and prayers . Woke up thinking about this after reading the DOB and DOD on here last night. I can't imagine.
  16. I'm a little confused. If he hasn't taken his permit test how does he have a license to renew? I have two kids who got their permits this year and both had to go in and do it in person. We had to bring their birth certificate, a certificate of attendance from the school (you get these at the school for @$2 and they are only good for 30 days) and another piece of paper they got for taking the alcohol awareness portion of their health class. They also had to get their pictures taken. I know that there was a law passed last year that you had to go in and show proof of citizenship when you ren
  17. You don't have to have a teaching degree to substitute. Sadly even with a college degree you will make the same as someone with a high school degree here in Paulding. They pay is not great. I took home $55/day after taxes when I did it (I think before taxes it is only $60/day). I would look into the surrounding counties. I used to look at the Cobb County School website and they seemed to have some pretty decent jobs pop up. I still look from time to time just out of habit. You could also look at paulding.gov. They don't have too many job openings but once in a while something will come
  18. I absolutely love the idea. I try to stay out of the politics of things around here because I'm not always good at telling what's true and what's not but wouldn't something like this create jobs and income for the residents in the area? We would also have people coming from outside the county spending money and therefore increasing our tax revenue, wouldn't we?
  19. We've sold one vehicle to them. It was pretty easy, we took it in and got an offer. The offer was good for a certain # of days (3, I think) and miles. We had a vehicle that although ran well couldn't pass emissions. Several years ago we took another car to them to get a quote, then took it to an auction and was able to get a little more. If not we were prepared to sell to them the next day.
  20. When I googled six flags discount coca cola 2013 (the last part popped up so I clicked on it) a link came up that takes you to a six flags page that gives you $21 off if you purchase 3 days or more in advance and $16 off if you just buy a one day ticket (no advance purchase mentioned). From there I was also able to click on another buy ticket link that had discounts for 7 day advance and 3 day advance special prices (not sponsored by coca cola and slightly more). We have season passes and ours come with some coupons and free days so if you have a friend who has passes maybe they can let
  21. Wow, what a gorgeous family you have. Congrats to your husband and best of luck to you all in the coming years. Please thank him for his service. I have a huge amount of those who serve.
  22. I hate to say this because it is going to sound mean but I'm annoyed at the lack of common sense some people have. I realize there are really nice, smart amazing people who have little common sense and I love some of them dearly but it is frustrating as all heck sometimes trying to explains something to them or to watch them make mistakes that to me just aren't necessary. Again, I love these people and I know there are probably things just as equally annoying about me. I am also annoyed by the sound of someone chewing ice, when people toss cigarette butts out their car windows, when I pu
