  1. Thanks for answering my question. I knew I had read that somewhere.
  2. When I went to vote originally I asked a Heath supporter out by the road at Moses a few questions. The first was did Heath really want to end the Hope Scholarship. I was told absolutely not, that he just did not want it funded with gambling money. Does he consider the lottery gambling? No, he is fine with things the way they are and he doesn't want to bring casino's into it. The next question I asked was in regards to that "Writ of Execution" letter that nearly everyone got that appeared to be from the "United States District Court". That pi$ed me off. I honestly don't know either of th
  3. We have some family passing through town on their way home to Florida today and are looking for a place to meet for brunch/lunch near 285, any suggestions? There will be 9-10 of us. TIA
  4. This race is a no brainer for me. You had my vote back when there was a long thread with a zillion stories of people you have touched through out the years. As long as you want to be coroner and I live in Paulding, you will get me vote. Best of luck!
  5. While I didn't realize that they granted wishes to those who were not terminally ill, it doesn't bother me in the least and I would hope anyone planning to contribute would not change their mind because of this. It makes total sense to grant a wish to a child who has gone through so much. While those kids who are now healthy may have plenty of time, after all the medical expenses their families have incurred they may not have the money. Not to mention what a gift it is to the families to not have the stress of planning for a wish and to be able to create some happy memories.
  6. I didn't say anything about Dr. Phil. I did not watch the show or read the article. My comments were directed at the "A Georgia Woman, Forces Son To Kill Hamster" which is the title of this thread. I can think of no circumstance where this would be acceptable and did not read anything further about it.
  7. I wonder what happened? I just checked the commerce section and the only place listed under pets is The Paulding Human Society. (I was trying to figure out who you had used that was a no-show). Maybe they weren't up to date on their memberships and it wasn't realized until today.
  8. I have no comment on the punishment and whether it fits the crime. I am still in shock that a mother could do that. WTH? That's just sick and if I were a parent and my child was exposed to an adult that would do this they wouldn't be spending any more time with them. Sick, sick, sick.....just thinking about it makes me sick.
  9. I quit reading when the wife bashing started. Simply put I would have given the shoes to the daughter and then called around until I found another pair at another Kohl's or anywhere really as long as they were within an exceptable price range. In fact if I had to go to another Kohl's and they were giving Kohl's cash it would have just been an excuse for me to spend just a little bit more to get to that nextg $50 . I am wondering why if those were the shoes your wife came in for why she didn't just go right for them when you got to the store. You may have mentioined she had some other sh
  10. We have switched companies a couple times over the past few years. The first time the former company never came to collect the can. I think they considered it ours. Last time we switched the company came out before I even called to cancel and took the can. I guess they noticed the new cans by the garage and figured they'd pick them up. I personally wasn't going to cancel with them until the new company had proved they were going to provide good service. Anyway to answer your question we also use the extra as overflow and it always gets emptied out when we do.
  11. I too got that letter stating the U.S.Marshall was looking to collect a debt. I felt sick to my stomach trying to figure out who it was I owed money too. Then I read the part where it said that it was my neighbor they were looking for and tried to think who it was. It was only after a few minutes that I realized it was dirty campaigning and decided that whoever was responsible would not be getting my vote.
  12. I does suck although I got a chuckle out of all the conflicting info flashing on the screen that last day or so before it was shut down. Anyways, we have been on a Friends kick since they started playing them on Nick at night. My boys are on vacation but they are not going to be happy when they get home tomorrow night and see that we have lost even more channels. Last year they upped our rates so I had to drop to a lower package to stay within our budget and they still complain about that. I don't blame them. I miss a few of those channels as well. I am looking forward to the day when
  13. How funny! Fabio was a guest on the David Letterman show one year when I took my husband there for Valentines day. I think Claudia Schiffer was the other guest. It wasn't the best night to go but we loved seeing David and had a lot of fun sitting in line waiting for tickets that morning.
  14. OMG you did not just compare someone running over another human being to painting public property? Seriously?! So if your car/house was painted on by one 17 year old and your teenager was run over in a car by another you would be equally upset by both and want both to be punished the same? That is messed up if you ask me. Hopefully I misunderstood because there is no object, building or vehicle that means anywhere near as much to me as my family does. Wow, just wow.
  15. Last year Scotty McCreary (sp?) and this year Phillip Phillips. Both of whom I love. I'm not a big country fan so I don't listen to Scotty right now but my daughter and I both love it every time Phillip's song comes on the radio. It is probably my all time favorite "winning" song by an idol. As far as ST quitting. He didn't really add anything this year. The first year he was funny but for me this year he was just okay. I think they should bring back Paula~~now she was entertaining. All in all I think they have done a good job filling the judges spots. Maybe not perfect
  16. I watched it. A great show that I will definitely miss.
  17. I actually clicked on this topic expecting some new breaking news. I haven't heard anything about her lately. Then again I don't sit and watch the news but read what catches my eye online when I am checking e-mail or browsing around. I'm not going to bash you either but I actually hate when you never hear any follow-ups on stories. I'm always wondering what ever happened with this or that.
  18. How exciting. What are the Futures games?
  19. Fox 5 Atlanta has a great list of fireworks. Someone posted the link in a thread titled "fireworks". You may have to do a search for it. It isn't showing up when I look through recent topics but did come up on a search I did earlier this morning.
  20. Might be able to help depending on what time and where you are located.
  21. There are a couple of places in Cartersville that you might like. One place I really like is the Appalacian Grill. The other place I have never been to but there was some great reviews on p.com about it a while back. Of course I can't think of the name (something house maybe?) but it is only open on Friday evenings and it is in an old house and the price is a flat $25/person and includes several courses. If you like Mexican the atmosphere at LaParilla's is nice. I've never eaten there but have been by a few time to buy gift certificates for teachers who had it listed at their favorite r
  22. I can't say for sure but my daughter is 15 and I seem to remember one of her friends failing it and going back the next day. I would call to be sure though.
  23. So the family is heading out of town next Friday for vacation and my daughter and I are having to stay in town due to not being able to miss any of her mandatory band camp. Anyways, bandcamp won't start until the following Monday and I would like to take her somewhere for a night or maybe the weekend that isn't too far away. All we really need is some pretty scenery and a pool to relax by for a bit. Any suggestions? I thought about Lake Lanier but it looks to be about $219/night. I'm also thinking about maybe just staying at the Hyatt downtown~this would be a treat since the only tim
  24. I remember something about this. Although I took to be in the same context of my middle school self saying I was going to or wanted to marry Shawn Cassidy, Scott Baio or John Schneider.
