  1. I guess I watch too much national and world news, not enough local. I might turn on local news twice a year. I have no idea who this woman is, even after reading the article. If she's guilty, I sincerely hope she gets what is coming to her.
  2. My daughter sat in the drive thru line for 40 minutes tonight to get waffle fries and a sweet tea. She is an out and proud lesbian, and pescetarian- she does not even eat chicken. She was pissed because she thought the boycott was ridiculous, everyone knows what this man believes and he happens to employ a friend of ours engaged to someone transgender. Does that shock you all? It shouldn't. I wonder what the folks in line behind my girl thought with her rainbow 'celebrate diversity' bumper sticker on her car. Personally I think both sides are being more than a little assholish. No o
  3. My two cents on this particular point, and I do NOT have a dog in this fight. In the early 70's my sister and I walked the distance down Jones Shaw Rd, close to Osborne High School. (now Windy Hill Connector) to Labelle Elementary school. WELL over a quarter of a mile, home and back. No problem. I homeschooled for 12 years, my youngest is almost 24 and my kids graduated at 15 (see, no dog)...I would have NEVER let them walk the distance we did to and from school. EVER. Times were different, and there are just way too many freaking psychos in this world. Period. But, that's just m
  4. No. I wasnt offended, I just found your wording in the part I highlighted distasteful. The whole 'we let you have ' aspect of it. Your second post on the subject was much clearer. As I said in the other thread on the subject I don't have a single GLBT friend who supports this boycott ( and I have many including my daughter). It's a manufactured outrage, and a bit ridiculous.
  5. I want to have icicles hanging off my nose.
  6. Yep, I think I love him . That is exactly what I have been hearing. The man is entitled to his opinion... and they make a damn good sandwich whether I agree with his opinion or not .
  7. I think this 'boycott' as just as ridiculous as the one that 'one million Moms' tried to pull against JC Penney for having Ellen as a spokeswoman. I actually do not personally know any LGBT person who supports this 'boycott'. Quite the contrary. One of my male homosexual friends said and I quote "They make a damn good chicken sandwich, and why would I want to be partly responsible in any way for someone losing a job". This is a hyped up bunch of bull crap.
  8. This whole thing is gross to me. I did not watch this episode. My Britaini is almost 26 now, and she was a BEAUTIFUL girl by anyone's standards. It did not even cross my mind to enter into one of these things. As a matter of fact I took one picture of her in a mid-drift shirt of her at 8 and she is still humiliated to this day. She hates it. Example You are teaching your girls that their worth, their value is in their appearance, Period. I've watched several episodes of Toddlers and Tiaras'. I can't explain why. It's like a train wreck you cannot help but look at. Afterwards I
  9. Personally, and as a family we over tip, based on whatever the going 'rate' is. Always have, if our glasses are attended to, etc. I worked at the Sirloin Junction in Powder Springs (on the line not as a waitress) when the Browns first opened i (early 80's, quite an eye-opener) I remember the crap tips the waitresses used to get, and how hard they worked for them. We always pay our tips in cash, even though we pay our bill on our debit card. Pizza delivery, etc, always the same way. I hope the server keeps it for themselves. Most people do not pay crap in tips, and that is the truth.
  10. I'm such an anglophile. I'm ashamed that I missed the opening ceremonies. Anything British is generally a-ok with me .
  11. Reading tomorrow...trying to finish up book #51 (and start #52) in my yearly online challenge with some other friends. Sunday is a leisurely book buying trip to McKays with my daughter for the store .
  12. R.I.P Coming from a non-Christian, pro marriage equality person. I sincerely, and I mean sincerely hope that the stress from recent controversies did not contribute to his condition. Chick-fil-A is a great company. Condolences to his family for their loss.
  13. I didn't watch any of it. Although, I am pretty sure I should have. I know that the genius, Danny Boyle had a HUGE influence on them http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/movies/moviesnow/la-et-mn-danny-boyle-taps-movie-music-references-for-olympics-opening-ceremonies-20120727,0,7263376.story He, next to Tim Burton is one of my favorite directors of ALL TIME. I will need to catch this on demand.
  14. Please check the ladies forum if you are so inclined. I just posted an update.
