First and foremost, I would never have left my child in your care. I have higher expectations than a new, unsupervised teen taking care of my child - I'm not questioning your responsibility level, I'm simply stating what my childcare expectations are. But, IMO, that's one of the differences between the good and the bad centers - the princess's center has very little turnover and there aren't any teenagers working there. In fact, all of her teachers (from infant to preschool) still work there (and most of them have since the center opened) AND they have college degrees. The classroom ratios

This absolutely astounds me!! So did the story last week about the 8 month old being locked in a center after everyone left. The princess is in daycare and has been since she was 3 months old. I have never feared for her safety because strict procedures are taken every single time the kids in her center move. Teachers aren't allowed to leave the room for any reason without another teacher to relieve them - the kids are then counted and the change is documented (even when the teacher has to go to the bathroom!!). At the end of the day, the teacher has to make sure every child is signed out

Here's some advice - go over and talk to them during the day. Tell them that things are just too loud when they have parties and that you heard someone using racial slurs. Ask them if they can just keep the party (and fights) inside the house, because you're afraid that someone is will call the police on them if they aren't careful. I wouldn't call the police without taking an opportunity to at least talk to them about it (nicely).

Call and file a claim with your insurance company. If you know of a good roofing company (I personally recommend Cox & Sheffield), ask them to come out and be there when the adjuster comes to look at the roof. We had them do this when we had leaks. Sheffield was able to point out areas where the adjuster didn't necessarily see it. They didn't charge us for the visit, but we had already gotten a quote from them and were going to let them replace the roof or repair it, depending on the insurance company's decision.

I refuse to buy stuff like that for the princess (she's only 4). I'm not raising a hooker, so I'm not dressing her like one. 'enuf said.

I think it depends on where they are from. For example, I work with a guy from Nigeria. Whenever friends or family come from there to visit, they want to go to an all you can eat buffet, it's something you don't see over there so they all want to experience it.

I would avoid the Chattanooga zoo - we weren't impressed as a group and I thought it was a waste of money. It's VERY small compared to the Atlanta Zoo and there wasn't a lot to see. On the other hand, I could spend hours/days just wandering around downtown and around the Aquarium.

Both options - the u-pick option is fun for the kids, but when I'm in a hurry, I would like to be able to just pick it up and go.

Blackberries and Strawberries. Yum!!

Far away? Notsomuch - it takes me about 45 minutes to get into Midtown every day. Takes hubby almost an hour to get to Kennesaw. Besides, if you come into town and one place is busy, there are tons of other options over the same ole chain restaurants in Paulding.

YUM!!! If you go to the one on Piedmont in Midtown, try the King & I for Thai food - it's across the street, behind Rite Aid.
-
If you're close to Destin, try the Copper Grill - awesome food. I can't remember exactly where it is, but it's close to the outlet mall.

Tell her to spend the money and have it done properly. IMO, if either party wants to have this done just for "peace of mind," then there are already some unspoken suspicions about the mother's behavior.

According to the DOL, hourly workers are to be paid for all hours worked so that would include the time it takes to get the computers up and running. If the employee is expected to arrive 15 minutes prior to his/her shift in order to get the computers up and going to be ready for 8:00 a.m. calls, then the employee should be compensated for that time. It has nothing to do with work ethic, but everything to do with the employer's expectations of its employees.

She's gorgeous and has a fabulous body. But no, even if I had that body, I'm too uptight and conservative to wear something like that out in public.

I actually have the same problem - the only difference is that I see faces when it happens. Scares me to no end. They happen when I'm stressed out and not getting enough sleep. Tylenol PM helps when I can settle down for 8 hours of sleep, but if I'm only averaging about 5-6 hours a night, then I walk on my treadmill for 30 minutes and then take a quick shower before bedtime. I'm exhausted at that point and usually fall asleep very quickly.

I'm not looking forward to ours, especially since we just had a house in our neighborhood sell for about 50% of what it initially cost.

Courtesy of my 4 year old princess: "Mommy, what did the banana say to the tree?" Me: "I don't know." Princess: "Mommy, don't you know that bananas can't talk?"

PLEASE don't attempt to call the credit union in an attempt to find out the status of your power. I had 3 people misdial and leave their names, home phone #s and credit union account numbers on my answering machine. Each one wanted to know if I could help them find out when their electricity would be turned on. One was enough nice enough to leave the check number and date of payment for her last bill.... ETA: I don't work for either the credit union or Greystone - these geniuses just can't dial the right phone number.

I'm not defending the guy, but I have seen cases where it ultimately becomes less expensive to just pay the people off, throw in the non-admission clause and the confidentialty provision and then spend a little extra on PR than to pay the attorneys millions of dollars to defend the case (only to risk a jury verdict, and then an appeal). It doesn't mean the guy is guilty, it just means the savings outweighs the risk.
-
Translation - church is paying the four guys a nice little chunk of change and there's most likely a non-admission and confidentiality provision. They get paid, no one admits any wrong doing and no one can talk about it.

unlimited talk, text and web--how does it work exactly?

I recently switched to AT&T from TMobile (I was a TMobile customer way back when they were Powertel). I love AT&T - I got the iPhone because the driods we have from TMobile were crap. I love my iPhone. I don't have an issue with dropped calls and haven't had a problem with service (except in the elevators in our high rise in ATL). -
Sounds like a great rate, but we've been in our house so long (18 years) and have a good rate (4.75%) so it doesn't make sense to refinance.

Uh oh, someone is in big trouble -- so glad it's not me and if it is me, let me know so I can change my name, move out of the county, update my will, etc.

Regardless of what it is, I hope you've learned your lesson and that it all works out.
