Dear Mr Commissioners, what a disappointment you are
LisaC replied to surepip's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I'm not sure why this case hasn't gone to trial, but I am interested in seeing what the county's defense posture in this case is - are they contending that they aren't liable for the acts of a third party or is it something else? I've seen the Judge's award of attorney's fees, but I haven't seen any of the pleadings filed by the county showing their defenses of the actual lawsuit. I'm not siding with the county, but I would love to see what their position is from a legal standpoint, it might shed some light on why the suit hasn't been settled. But, I do agree that it would be great to -

Has the notice of appeal actually been filed with the Georgia Court of Appeals? It's not appearing on the court's docket. -
There is a church on Macland Road (Corner Baptist, maybe) that has recycle bins for newspapers and aluminum cans.

Hubby worked in Jacksonville for a couple of years - we had an apt. at Atlantic Beach and loved that area. Stay away from the Orange Park area - had friends out there and it was ROUGH!! P.S. The Fish Camp is Clark's Fish Camp -- YUM!! I love their shrimp stuffed flounder!

So are they appealing to the GA Court of Appeals? -
I love Dr. Davallier at East Paulding Peds. Give them a try - I've had to wait more than 10 minutes to get called back ONCE in the 4+ years that we have been using them, but they warned me about it when I got there and offered to reschedule if I needed to.

The one in Douglasville is clean and I don't mind shopping there. Fresh fruits and veggies are always cheaper and are really good. Milk is almost always cheaper there. We've tried some of their store brand items and, for the most part, they were all fine with only a few exceptions. Canned veggies are also cheaper (.39-.69 a can). FYI: Only things you have to get used to -- You have to deposit a quarter into the buggy lock to get a shopping cart - if you don't have a quarter, you're outta luck. You do get the quarter back when you return the buggy. You also bag your own groceries and

Nope, go for the one that gets you the most attention and that bright, shiny new courthouse will do just the trick. -

Are Georgia Teachers The Worse Teachers In The U.S.?
LisaC replied to Eddie Bennett's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I heard the story on the news this morning so I haven't seen the face of a single teacher. I don't care about their racial makeup, they did something seriously wrong and they should be held accountable for their actions, period. -
It depends on how the employees are classified - there are jobs that qualify as exempt from the overtime requirements (like sales). The best bet is to contact the Georgia Department of Labor (or see their website) to find out if the employees are legally classified as exempt.

There was also a sign a Kroger this weekend saying that the cost of the double-pack Sunday papers is going up to $3.50 - I think on July 31.

Crimes that happen at night are definitely on the rise, especially around Tech and Atlantic Station. Most of what happens over in our little corner of midtown at night though is petty theft or fights outside of the clubs (especially Opera - which is just across the street from where the shooting occurred today).

If our building was locked down, no one mentioned it. But, then again, I didn't go downstairs and try leave the office for lunch. Hopefully, the cameras in the parking garage captured some video of what happened. Girl, I bring my princess down here with me everyday, I'm not worried - this is the first incident I can think of that has happened during daylight hours in years.

You misunderstood - the quote is: "The work stops here."

This happened on Crescent Street behind our building. We heard the gunshots from our offices, but no one really thought about it until we heard all of the sirens. Prayers for the family of the woman who diead and for the two women who were wounded.

We've had Waste Industries for years - we switched to them when Paulding Waste was bought out several years ago. We LOVE their service and we were to the $29.95 rate earlier this year. Great guys, awesome service. I highly recommend them. P.S. Our neighbor uses a local competitor, she called to see if they would match that rate - the only way they would was if she prepaid for the year. When she said that she didn't want to do that, they gave her a discount, but wouldn't match the $29.95.
