  1. I have this problem too. It doesn't bother me when I lay out in the sun because I can cool off in the water very easily. Drinking lots of water also helps. I hate these headaches because they can easily turn into migraines with me - bad enough that it hurts to have the lights on, hurts to walk and sometimes just listening to the pounding in my head is hard to deal with.
  2. That's WAY overpriced (but then again, I think their daily admission is also too high for what you get). I think White Water is like $49 for a season pass, much better deal.
  3. Love it!! Great highlights!
  4. I would have tithed 10% and kept my gift from "above." Okay, I'm just kidding, I would have returned it. But I'm sure I would have spent some time thinking about how much that $45,000 would add to our retirement fund or to the princess's college fund....
  5. Let me know when/where - I need to get some new photos of the princess.
  6. AMEN!!! Truly the best country song ever!!! And, did you know that one of the writers of that song was just inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame? (Bobby Braddock). His songwriting is timeless - he also wrote D-I-V-O-R-C-E, Time Marches On, I Wanna Talk About Me, and People Are Crazy. Bobby is truly one of the best songwriters out there (and a good friend).
  7. It's all done digitally now so they have complete access to CTs, MRIs, X-rays etc. For example, when I had pneumonia last year, the pulmonary specialist was able to pull up the CT scan and XRay and show me what they saw at the hospital. When it cleared up, he showed me the hospital x-rays v. the current x-rays so I could see the differences. ETA: My doc in Marietta sent me to Kennestone, Kennestone had me "in their system" since my dr. was part of the WellStar network, the Pulmonary specialist I went to has an office on 120 - I have never had to transmit records between any of them - th
  8. BIL lives in Chicago - it can take about 2 hrs to get in or out of a Cubs game. There's nothing wrong with the facilities in ATL, you move them out of the city, you are going to to alienate a huge fanbase. I'm more likely to go downtown to see a game or other event than I am to drive to Gwinnett Arena to see anything. I tend to think that the issue with the Thrashers is/was marketing - the team didn't invest enough to figure out a way to get the attention of the city. The Atlanta Dream (the ladies pro basketball team) has the same issue. The Hawks and Falcons are the exceptio
  9. You don't have to get the records if you are going to another Wellstar facililty (including a doctor's office) - they have access to your medical records (and insurance information) in each facility.
  10. You buy opportunities to bid - if you win the auction, you usually get the item for pennies on the dollar. The reality is that you have to take the risk and spend money to place a bid on something you may or may not win.
  11. My niece did two pageants when she was 3, and my SIL found out how very competitive it was. Depending on the pageant, in the 2-4 year old range, there were about 10 on the "local" level, but the state level usually had 50-100 little girls. My niece won the "Little Miss Buggy Days" pageant and was invited to go on to a state pageant. When they went, my SIL said the mom's were all rude, horrible people (and most of them were overweight and not very attractive) and they yelled and screamed at the drop of a hat if they didn't get things like the best hair or makeup person (you can pay several h
  12. Hey, we used to stop in the big city of Allbenny on the way to Florida, that was no small town to us!!
  13. So sad - my heart and my prayers go out to this family.
  14. Maybe they all failed the graduation test....
  15. Girl, Paulding County is nothing compared to the "country" where I grew up. Back in the day, I went to school in Forsyth, GA just north of Macon(not Forsyth County). We had one fast food restaurant (Hardee's) in the county and most of the seniors would go to Castleberry's Drug Store after school to get a cherry Coke on our way home. Almost all of the redlights in the county (4 of them) were located around the courthouse square - the other one was located on the road going into Macon. Parties were held in pastures because parents didn't want us in the house messing up things, but because of
  16. I, uh, "developed" early so I was always attracting attention. However, I was very stuck up in school. I wouldn't date guys at my school because I felt like they were beneath me and tended to walk over them. I hung out with the party crowd - we would go out after football games, go to "pasture parties" on Saturday nights, etc. I didn't drink or doing anything really foolish, but I was always having fun. The fun continued through college and then stopped when I graduated and had to get a real job. Now I feel really old.....
  17. Why are the school names being withheld? Is this some sort of secret graduation ceremony that only select schools can do?
  18. Advisory Message has been issued by the Paulding County Sheriff's Office. Tuesday May 17, 2011 12:21 PM EDT Lock your car doors at night and remove your valuables. Sheriff Gary Gulledge is reminding everyone to make sure that your car doors are locked at night. Also, remove your valuables if possible. Reports of entering auto may continue to increase as we go throughout the Spring and Summer months. Most of the entering autos that are reported to us from neighborhoods involve UN-LOCKED vehicles. “Car-hopping” is the term that has been used to describe the activity of roa
  19. We do child and family dedications at our church - this is usually done for newborns/infants, but also with families with small children who want to make a public profession to raise their children in a Christian home. This type of dedication could easily be modified to add godparents.
  20. All night and all day? That sounds a bit much. I usually put it on when I leave for work and cook it on LOW until I get home - it's falling apart by then. I had beef stock, onions, garlic, and fresh herbs (rosemary and thyme are yummy). If I want a gravy, I mix just enough water w/flour to make a paste, pour about 2 cups of the liquid from the crock pot into a saucepan and cook until thickened and bubbly.
  21. Call Dr. Parbhoo's office at LifeSmiles of New Hope - see if you can get a consult with him. He does a fabulous job, he won't give you the runaround or try to convince you to do something you don't need, and he will work with you on payment arrangements. His staff is top notch too! He even has a coupon out: http://www.bogopod.com/Coupons/life-smiles-of-new-hope-dallas-ga-professional-services-30157-13415 Dallas GA 30157 www.lifesmilesofnewhope.com PM for contact info.
  22. The lottery funded pre-k close to our office has already told their wait-list parents if they will get in or not. It's owned by the same company that runs our firm's daycare, a friend was hoping her son would make it in, but no luck, but he did get into her second choice in Gwinnet County.
  23. It's up to you. I personally would never get a tattoo, but to each his/her own. The only thing I can tell you is that according to the Red Cross's guidelines, you cannot donate blood for one year after getting a tattoo. Good luck with your decision.
  24. If you want to get them done, there is a salon in Douglasville that does them. Cuts N Us - it's across from the new Douglasville City Hall on Fairburn Road (on the other side of I-20). Ask for Linda, the owner of the salon. She will do them and has been doing them for years, but recommends that you wait until the kids are older because as they grow (and as their ears grow), the placement can become off center. And, she's not expensive. 770.949.5711.
  25. I opted to wait until the princess is old enough to take care of them.
