Very cool. My ancestors lived on the very edge of the battlefield at New Hope and are buried in that cemetary.

I guess I've spent too much time sitting in Atlanta traffic, but this is crazy. It's not a hardship to either move over or slow down when you are passing an emergency vehicle. I've managed to do it when traffic is moving at the speed of light and if I'm stuck in the right lane, it's not unusual for cars to slow down to less than 45 mph (25 mph is often the case) to go past emergency vehicles. It's all about being safe - if that inconveniences you, stay off the roads. Now, if we can just get people to move out of the way when emergency vehicles are trying to get through an intersection

Since they are 20 somethings, I don't recommend MARTA unless they are traveling in a bigger group. Tell them to get there early and drive. Look for parking to cost them at least $20/day and tell them to check on parking in the decks of one of the high rise buildings on Peachtree Street at 10th or 14th Streets and walking down either 10th or 14th to the Park. ETA: OR, if they really want to use MARTA and avoid parking, have someone take them and pick them up from the MARTA station.

Volunteers Mandated to Report Suspected Child Abuse
LisaC replied to NewsJunky's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I don't need to read the responses. It's simple - if anyone suspects child abuse, they should report it immediately. -
We LOVE Dr. Rossitch!! He and his staff are absolutely amazing with kids. My princess loves to go to the dentist.

I saw one last Friday on side of the road on Bill Carruth Parkway close to where they are building the new hospital.

I have some original documents from a great great grandfather that served in the Civil War. They document his injury, arrest by the Yankees and his release. I would love to find a way to preserve them, when they were given to me by a great aunt, they were in the same pouch that gggf kept them in and they are slowly deteriorating.

Michael's is a good place to look, but also look online. I got hubby an awesome shadow box in the shape of his rank when he retired from the Air Force. -

P.com Players......$305 Million Powerball ! >> PDF of Numbers added
LisaC replied to Caped Crusader's topic in RECENT TOPICS
But, the person who gave $40 this week would probably be expecting to be at the same level as the original participants. The original participants would have a share value of 51.26, if they add $20 this week and continue on. JMO, but somebody is probably going to feel slighted - keep it closed. -
P.com Players......$305 Million Powerball ! >> PDF of Numbers added

Too confusing (says the person with no stake in this). Close it. If you want to start a second pool, start a second one, but I wouldn't co-mingle the two (you could host one through the p.com office and CC could continue with the one he started). -
Nope, we had a great sermon on Romans 12, no mention of chicken, sammichs, or protests.

No offense, but with your education and work experience, you actually thought it was a GOOD idea to dress up like a convict and stand at an intersection? If you decide to continue in politics, either get a campaign manager or find some friends who work in marketing. First impressions go a long way and if that corner was the first impression that some voters had of you, then it definitely had a negative impact on your campaign. I wish you nothing but the best if you decide to run for political office in the future, but please, get help...
-
Really? I guess the democrats are using negative ads against Romney, nor did they use them against McCain.... Negative politics happen on both sides of the fence - to blame it purely on the Republicans is just silly.

I absolutely voted!

Bill Heath is the reason that Paulette was re-elected?
-
Now let's just hope that tonight brings some final decisions and not a lot of run-offs. I'm really ready to get these primaries over and done with!
-
I don't care how much they focus on it, that's a personal decision. I just think the voters need to have the information so they can make the best possible decision for them. It may bother some voters, it may not, but we should give them the opportunity to form their own opinions and get rid of all of the negative nonsense.

I'm all about getting the truth out there, whether it's an apple or an orchard...
-
Says the guy that was excited to see the anonymous website bashing Paulette posted... Sorry, couldn't resist. I agree with what you are saying above and I'm assuming that you have learned that from all of the nonsense that has gone on in this campaign - Paulette has issues, but it's obvious that her opponents do as well. The key is to vote in the candidate that will best represent Paulding.

This is already done by large companies in Atlanta. The Midtown Alliance encourages carpooling and mass transit and even has a guaranteed ride home program so that in the event of an emergency, they will pay for a cab for you.

It's very good and really too simple to screw up!!
