  1. I love my job and have great bosses - been here over 20 years and they haven't fired me yet!! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: Seriously, sit down and think about the stuff you do like and dislike about your job and ask yourself if potentially giving up those things would make your life better or worse. After 20 years, I know that things are always going to change so sometimes, I just have to suck it up and wait for the next round of changes. But, overall, I work at a great place and adore the people I work with so it's worth it.
  2. I don't see the skull (or skulls)....
  3. We have backgrounds checks - I'm not opposed to them, but I don't really think they are an effective deterrent, criminals can still get guns. But, I honestly don't see where showing a photo ID to vote is a big deal. It's rare for a person in day and time to NOT have an ID.
  4. If you are from out of state and wish to participate in local elections, take the time to get your license updated to show that you are a resident of the state. When you do that, you can also register to vote. And, if your address has changed, I believe that Georgia law says that you have to update your address on your license within 60 days.
  5. But, all of those groups can get a state-issued ID card. And, BTW, if only 20-30% of registered voters show up in a non-Presidential election (you don't get 100% in a Presidential election), then only about 2% of those people would likely vote. And, if 1% of those get an absentee ballot (as is often the case with handicapped and seniors), the 60-40 margin is not significantly affected.
  6. But, in the instance of the woman that voted five times - if she had to show an ID, that problem would be rectified.
  7. Help me understand this, if you can register to vote when you get your driver's license or Georgia ID, how is that a barrier? I need to google later today and see if there is research out there that shows the number of voters in Georgia without a driver's license. If I had to guess, I would say 10% or less.
  8. Or, she could have been told something like, "we are asking ALL parent to provide..." Asking all parents to provide and requiring them may sound the same to some. What we saw provided in a private pre-k was required of all parents when the princess started going to a private school. But, even if it were optional, I would still provide it. And did donate it for years to various teachers before the princess.
  9. Highland Bakery has a cafe on 14th Street, but I have to avoid it - the peanut butter French toast there is incredible!!!
  10. Quite honestly, your best bet might be one of the clinics at CVS or Walgreen's unless it is something serious.
  11. When our firm moved to Midtown several years ago, Henri's had a location at 10th Street. Their sandwiches were amazing!! I was a big fan of their chicken salad on one of their freshly made croissants... Yummmm!!!! Thanks for the memory!!!
  12. Make sure it matches your other appliances.
  13. What about at the Silver Comet Trail behind Home Depot. There is a playground for those with little ones and a big enough open area where you could do it.
  14. I still have to deal with it, but it's not a big deal to me. I get the list, buy everything on it plus extra so I don't have to pay a fortune for stuff when I get a note home saying that the princess needs more whatever. Whenever I got to Wal-Mart or Target, I generally grab an extra box of crayons, pencils, watercolor paint, folders, etc. so I can add to the stash (and I will keep doing this for the next few weeks). And, I also have the clorox wipes, baby wipes, hand sanitizer and paper towels ready to take with me to school too.
  15. I've never had prime rib at Ruth Chris and I believe Rathbun's is still closed (they had a fire earlier this month). I don't believe STK, Prime or Chops even has it on their regular menus, it might be one of their brunch or private dining options.
  16. I don't know your definition of "cheap," but David's Bridal has a good selection of inexpensive dresses. But, if you are just looking for something tea length - check out various stores, you may simply find a short white dress that you love. And, congratulations!
  17. I'm glad you found some lottery funded that were actually worth using. When I went through it with the princess a few years ago, I was told my one facility that I needed to "lower my standards," because they believed that pre-k was about socialization. And, when I visited facilities that offered both lottery funded and private pre-k, the teachers and directors show a lot of preference towards the private pre-k rooms. Overall, I wasn't impressed and we went with a Primrose school in Cobb and we absolutely LOVED it!!
  18. As a literal "heavy" hitter, I will say that I haven't found fabulous prime rib around Paulding. The best I have had in the county was at Longhorn. Now, if you want to drive to Atlanta, you have a lot more choices!!
  19. Or the afterbeffectsbof those showers if the car next to you hits a puddle....
  20. Most trash companies will pick it up if it is broken down.
  21. The interstates do have a minimum speed and based on my commute, I would NOT recommend, putting a scooter on one. I also thin a scooter could be dangerous on roads like 120 and 278 - you would likely get run over. I do, however, see scooters used in midtown Atlanta a lot, but never, ever on the interstate.
  22. Maybe marble is more durable and lasts longer than wood or tile? I just know that when money comes it, it is usually designated by other agencies for a specific purpose and for that purpose only. It may be there just isn't enough in the budget to go around to cover the cost of supplies.
  23. What about the rest of the class? Lol
  24. I don't use the Paulding County Schools - can I get my money back? And, I've been blessed to never had to use the fire dept. - can I get that money too? There are several roads in Paulding that I don't drive on - why should I have to maintain those? Oh yeah, that's because I made a choice to be a homeowner in Paulding County and accept the fact that the officials elected in this county would be the ones in charge of spending my money wisely. If they don't, I don't get a refund, I get the opportunity to vote for someone else or I can move... That's it. We have officials that make the d
