  1. Depending on the stations that you can receive easily (see AntennaWeb.org) you might decide to use cut Yagi antennas so you won't need a rotor.
  2. I'm not in the trucking business and I knew what was meant by reefer. But it did appear that he was saying that he 'had' not only the license, but had a van, a flatbed, a refrigerated truck... I was wondering.... if he was so hard up for money why don't you sell one of those?
  3. They finished the 4 lane bridge on Bill Carruth in much shorter time. Apparently, there is a problem. I hope it's not what my son-in-law said - They can't work because someone stole the tracks off their crane.
  4. Researching genealogy does take time. A lot of information is available on the 'net but oftentimes you'll need to visit libraries or the courthouses to verify birth records, cemetery records, etc. Interesting information is sometimes recorded on gravestones so we often try to get a photo of those.
  5. It would depend on when your insurance bill comes due (if its paid from escrow) as to whether the amount left in your escrow account after the taxes have been paid is excessive or not. It's not a real crazy way. It's the same way they determine how much the escrow account needs to be funded when you purchase a property.
  6. I sold several pieces of jewelry with diamonds in them. I took them first to Prestige - they were only interested in the gold at a much reduced price. I then took them to Criterion - they paid for the gold AND the diamonds. You might do better selling to an estate jewelry outfit, but locally Criterion may be your best bet.
  7. I don't have a problem with Vista (Ultimate) or with Windows 7. I prefer a Windows environment since 99.9% of my clients all use Windows, and operate on Windows business software. But if I was working with a school system or desktop publishing I'd probably use a Mac - not because one is better than the other but because that's what the others in my business environment use and request support on.
  8. And the Mac - Windows debate goes on. But without Steve Jobs, where will Mac go without its only visionary???
  9. Security Expert: Windows 7 Is More Secure Than Mac OS X http://www.windowsitpro.com/article/paul-thurrotts-wininfo/security-expert-windows-7-secure-mac-os-140118 Conventional wisdom has it that Apple's Mac OS X system is more secure than Windows. And though partisans on either side of the OS fence have differing reasons for believing that to be so—Mac users believe it's because of the inherent superiority of OS X's UNIX underpinnings, and Windows users claim that OS X's tiny 5 percent usage share isn't a sufficient target for hackers—this is perhaps the one area where they do agree. 10. We've been on around 17 cruises and we've found that we don't need to spend all kinds of money on the ship in order to have a great time. They didn't mention that the cruise lines make a lot of money on selling the tours for the various ports that they have on their itinerary. We find that we can book the same or better tour once we've docked, directly with a tour operator at the port. We rarely ever book a tour with the ship anymore.
  11. Here's a layman's IQ test. Go to WalMart and see how many people use the correct door to enter or leave.
  12. Maybe they're just trying to kill the grass in the areas that they plan on moving their den furniture to in order to create an outdoor space.
  13. Is it hooked up to your AC power? It won't power up if the battery is dead and the AC isn't provided.
  14. It's not location, location, location. It's common sense, passion, inquisitiveness, and curiosity.
  15. The real reason behind this attack is that Gibson IS NOT UNIONIZED. Go figure!
  16. Why does this not surprise any of us? DOJ Advises Gibson Guitar to Export Labor to Madagascar It seems that the Department of Justice wasn’t satisfied with merely raiding the law abiding factories of Gibson Guitar with armed agents, shutting down their operation costing them millions, and leaving the American company in the dark as to how to proceed without going out of business. Now, according to CEO Henry Juszkiewicz, agents of the United States government are bluntly informing them that they’d be better off shipping their manufacturing labor overseas. In an interview with KM
  17. I don't flash other drivers, but I don't speed either. If you get caught then so be it. I have flashed another driver only a couple of times to try to get them to slow down, not because I've seen a cop or anything.
  18. One reason the OP might have been asked about the placard being on the mirror is IF people actually read it and followed the law they would realize that you are NOT supposed to have the placard hanging from the mirror while the car is in motion. You can lay the placard on your dashboard when parked, with the name of the individual facing down (if you have privacy concerns). When I took my disability certification in to get my placard they gave me one and then asked if I wanted a handicap tag as well. So they gave me a handicap tag for each of my vehicles. The placard I carry if I'm in someone
  19. Not sure it was Japanese. If it was, he would have said HER-RO-O instead of HEL-LO-O!!
  20. I have a postal scale that weighs in ounces and grams. That's what I use. I got about $5500 for some gold I sold.
  21. Actually Carbon Dioxide is safer, since it won't explode or catch on fire compared to Oxygen. Plus, it's free! To inflate your tires with Carbon Dioxide, deflate all of your tires first. Then kneel down next to each tire and blow really hard on the tire stem. But, make sure your windows are rolled up first. Duh!
  22. Husband buys his son an iPAD, daughter an iPOD, himself an iPHONE & his wife an iRON. She wasn't impressed even after he explained it can be integrated with the iWASH, iCOOK & iCLEAN network. This triggered the iNAG service, which totally wiped out the iSHAG function!
  23. Let's see... This economic stimulus is money the federal government sends to taxpayers. Where did the government get this money? From taxpayers. So the government is giving us back our own money? Only a very small portion of it. What is the purpose of this payment? The plan is for you to use this money to buy a Hi-Def TV set, thus stimulating the economy. But isn't that stimulating the economy of China? Shut up. Below is some helpful advice on how to best help the US economy by spending your stimulus check wisely: If you spend the stimulus money at WalMart, the money will go to
