  1. Congress can create jobs by cutting regulations, creating an environment conducive for small business to thrive, etc. Guess you missed that civics class...
  2. Crime is definitely UP in Washington DC. Remember, this is an area where local citizens are FORBIDDEN to have guns. The old adage that "When guns are outlawed, only Outlaws will have guns" is never truer for that area. If it's not the criminals in Washington who are robbing the citizens, it's the Congress. It's a no-win situation.
  3. Maybe that's one reason he refuses to terminate his vacation early to return to Washington. If he doesn't say or do anything maybe his ratings will go up.
  4. Teachers don't teach for the money. They do it for the children and their passion for the work.
  5. I guess I could use ZC's tactic and say that there is no more of a housing crisis since we just had a contract on our house within 13 days (offer within 6 days) of listing it. We closed on it Friday, so in my best ZC voice, "What housing crisis?"
  6. I don't think 18 year olds should have to go to war either, at least not unless they volunteer. And if they do, then they would be allowed to vote. My point is that freeloaders and those who don't contribute to society shouldn't be allowed to vote. I guess you don't consider a soldier a "productive member of society". I guess that means you lean toward democratic thinking.
  7. I thought that's all that mattered was that it was all Bush's fault. Obama has made a bad problem much worse. Bush really couldn't do much to improve it with a democractic controlled House and Senate, plus with Bush not being much of a conservative anyway. Even if the wealthiest paid 100% of their income in taxes it still wouldn't get us out of this mess, but let's don't let facts get in the way of Obama's class warfare. The only way out of this mess is INDEED on the backs of the middle class - many who pay NO taxes whatsoever and consume more than their fair share of government service
  8. Sure, the economy is improving... I think I found ZC...
  9. I quit getting the paper about a year ago. I think my neighbor is getting up earlier and retrieving it from his driveway before I was.
  10. Pawn shop. However, I think Criterian is giving the best prices right now.
  11. I liked this picture. Double-draw shot. Gotcha!
  12. I've done the zip lines in Costa Rica. I'm looking forward to doing the zip lines at Banning Mills. One big difference will be the safety issues. In Costa Rica the way they handle the zip lines that might have you travelling a little too fast is to wrap the tree with a bed mattress.
  13. I totally agree. So many people always think that another bank will be better. But then they find out it's not quite as good as it seemed and sometimes something even worse happens...
  14. Personally, I don't believe any 18 year old should be allowed to vote. They have been provided for by someone else all of their lives, have never really had to have a job to keep a roof over their head or food on their table. Most are similar to any other democrat welfare recipients - who also should not be allowed to vote. If you are a productive member of society you should get to vote, If you are receiving government welfare or assistance then you shouldn't be able to vote. A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can
  15. When I found a yellow jacket nest in the ground, I put some gasoline in a pump up sprayer, got in my van and drove over to the culprits, rolled the window down just enough to stick the wand out and soaked them good. I like either a lot of distance or a lot of protection between me and stinger things.
  16. If the entire flash mob is there to rob and steal, then more power to someone inclined to take them out. However, with some of those flash mobs that dance, I'd be inclined to take a few out myself.
  17. I sold my class ring and got enough to buy a Ruger 357 magnum. Good trade.
  18. Sorry JR, but you're living in the Old Testement and any Bible believer should know that Jesus set us free of many of those laws and traditions that were held up in during Old Testement times. During those times most of these laws and rules were under the Dispensation of the Law. We know live in the Dispensation of Grace. So, until you've done your own research and know your Bible and history a little better I wouldn't be jumping to any conclusions.
  19. You mean you are related to them TOO???? That would make us related.... WOW!
  20. Except for the fact that marriage, since the beginning of time, was designed for one man and one woman to bound together, and have children to replenish the earth. Marriage has it roots in religious backgrounds. It was only when it became 'convenient' that marriage became conducted outside of a religious ceremony. Only a man and a woman can do be bound together - as God intended, and anything other than that is an abomination of God's law and natural law. If we allow people of same gender to marry "because they want to", not because they have any true moral or religious ground to allow it, the
  21. My marriage isn't affected by the fact that gay people can marry. If some guy decides to marry a young girl, or some dude decides he wants to marry a sheep or a women wants to marry a horse it won't affect my marriage either. So why are those situations wrong???
  22. When I see someone run across the gore area behind me to get in the left turn lane early I will wait until the last possible, "legal" moment to get into that turn lane and watch them drop their coffee in their laps trying to stop. (Whether I needed to turn left or not).
  23. Gas prices were 3.29 last night in Eufala, AL.
  24. I think the Gallop poll is just showing the slide of society as the percentage of more and more people are getting divorced. Then again it could be they want gays and lesbians to suffer as much as the rest of us married folk. But think about all of the new business that would be generated from allowing extravagant civil unions for gay and lesbians couples - florists, bakers, dress and suit designers, and of course, divorce attorneys.
