$9.95/mo Internet for Low Income Families with Kids
Georgia Dawg replied to afriendlygeek's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I don't agree with any subsidized program. All taxes should be out front and visible. I'm tired of taxes being hidden in different fees and such. Why not let the American people 'know' how much everything is really costing us? Because we would revolt and stop this ridiculous spending. If we had to pay for everything with a sales tax (no subsidies, no fees, no property taxes, no ad valorem taxes, etc) then the American people would know how much all of this is costing and would demand some of the programs to be terminated. That's the only way the government gets away with the incom -
We've had several company outings there. It's great fun competing with co-workers on the racetrack.

You can tell he's guilty when Al Sharpton shows up on his behalf. Just saying... -

Septic tanks were not designed to be pumped every few years. They were designed to work and work properly and not require maintenance. Many companies have convinced people to have their septic tanks pumped every 5 years or so. Those same people get easily convinced to replace their oil every 3000 miles, their tires every 5 years and their mattress every 8 years. We've had our septic tank for over 17 years and it hasn't been pumped once and hasn't caused any plumbing issues. As far as bad odors coming from your sink, that could happen on a sewer or septic system. I've seen sewer syste

Can someone explain the reasoning in widening Bill Carruth Pkwy?
Georgia Dawg replied to tbird's topic in RECENT TOPICS
That could mean that they could exactly complete the 4 lane around Hiram before they actually need it. Usually, widening of roads is completed several years too late. -
Because, when they got back they said "There's no intelligent life down there."

Careful! If it was put up to a popular vote you might be banned from ever posting on PCom again. When popular votes count in everything, then society lowers itself to a self-serving, devouring society. Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote.

Even if the commercials are a little louder than the network programming, the SHOUTING BY THE ANNOUNCER IN THE COMMERCIAL MAKES IT WORSE AND DOESN"T HELP. You'd think every commericial was for people with hearing aids.

Good scenery in Paulding? How about downtown Hiram in my rear-view mirror. Ok, it was time for some levity.

Carol, I believe the 'correct' phrase is... "Here, hold my beer and watch this!"

Take a banana and smear it all over your face. Then walk up and down the street to make it interact with fresh air. Be sure to post what street you're going to walk on.

With Mark Richt losing 9 of the last 14 games is putting him on the spot. Bad trend, 21 losses in the last 5 years. It took Vince Dooley his last 9 years to lose that many.

I haven't been near a power plant but I have been close to a lot of airports and have seen a lot of signs stating that it is illegal to photograph in the area.

Kennedy's principles and philosophies align closer with the tea party and conservatives today. He wasn't a true democrat, and that is one of the reasons he never got to finsih what he started.

Cheap way to finish small basement - DIY? humidity?

Definitely stop the water on the outside by sealing the outside of the exterior basement walls correctly. Anything else is just a band aid waiting to fail. -
I WAS poking at the local government. Even in Paulding county, IF the police departments of Hiram, Dallas and Paulding County actually would TALK TO EACH OTHER and collaborate on crime a lot would get accomplished. The reason it took so long to find out who committed the crime against us was because the Hiram detectives and Paulding County Detectives weren't communicating. Hiram refuses (or refused - maybe they've changed, but the Hiram detectives no long have those jobs) to attend the meetings that the Sheriff sets up. Probably the best thing that could happen is to dissolve the police depar

Not too excited about this new credible terror threat
Georgia Dawg replied to dlls1415's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Granted, the Feds do discover and stop many terrorists attacks all the time. It's the ones that they tell us about are the ones that have me concerned since they don't have enough information in order to stop it in time. People is the middle east region make a big deal about tradition and dates - they are very important to them. And they look for times where their attacks will cause the most concern - not just the most deaths. They go after symbols - symbols of wealth, money, power - all those things that we have that they consider evil. Be watchful. -
Although it's been 10 years I will always call the site GROUND ZERO as I will never forget my comrades who died up there. Some people may want us to forget what happened and who did that to us, but I will never forget. I get a similar emotion when I visit the Arizona Memorial.

I don't suspect... I KNOW there are many Tea Partiers with higher IQs than the PM. Besides, Tea Party supporters are looking for ways to improve our country by building it up, not by looking for ways to criticize everyone else to bring them down.

Anyone with a refrigerated truck can find work. Maybe he liked living off the gub'ment instead of knocking on doors. However, there are a lot of unemployed truck drivers who don't have any equipment - experience doesn't help much.

Because the Chamber of Commerce doesn't want that information out there. If people who were looking to move into the area saw how much crime had really risen in Paulding county they might decide to move elsewhere. While in Paulding, we were victims of the worst crime we've ever experienced in our entire lives. It definitely was a factor in our decision to move out of the county.
