  1. Does anyone have a copy of the actual request? All I see is a one sided editorial that reads like it's distorting the facts. There's no way to tell without seeing a copy of the actual request.
  2. Have you figured out where people will get on and off of the thing yet if it were to be built? Exactly how would it help with traffic?
  3. Let us know how it turns out. Unfortunately, with the technology today it's not hard to fake something that looks real. Unfortunately fraud like this is so rampant today, authorities would rather spend time dealing with physical crimes (robbery, etc.) than dealing with something like this - if it turns out to be fraud.
  4. It's annoying, but your best bet is to just delete them. There are some spammers who put an 'unsubscribe' link in their email. As soon as you click it they know they have a good email address and that the owner reads the emails.
  5. Are your weather alerts the County's Code Red alearts where they call you, or one of the weather services? I got the message from both Code Red Weather Alerts and the 911 traffic alerts texts.
  6. Actually anyone who didn't get one should probably sign up for the Code Red Weather Alerts. It's a call that comes to your phone (Cell or Land Line) to warn you of severe weather in your specific area.
  7. I understand that's what they do, but under current law it's still illegal. The bill would not have legalized smoking pot, just the derivitive drugs made from it.
  8. Between texts, phone messages, emails, etc, I've been notified maybe 12 times. It's getting a little old.
  9. I believe an event like this is more likely to happen than the earth being hit by an asteroid. Nobody knows how bad it really would be - it could destroy most electronics or might just be a minor inconvenience. One thing is true - we rely so much on our transportation and supply systems that disruption for any period of time would be devastating.
  10. From what I read, all you have to do is sign up and enter your receipt numbers and you automatically get any credit if a competetor has advertised the same item cheaper. They're already looking at the ads themselves. If anything, they're keeping their customers from feeling like they have to scour the competetor's ads themselves.
  11. The problem is the Tunnels are funded and controlled by a secret agency in the Federal Government and Wal*Mart. Local government has no say in the matter, meaning any promises made by any local politician are just empty promises. http://www.oocities.org/walmarttunnels/
  12. Anyone who claims to know that the community hates you is suspect in anything they claim the community wants or doesn't want.

The problem with that is you didn't do your job and anticipate that the old towels would be obsolete. You should have stocked up on the old ones before they ran out.
  14. Unfortunately too many many "low-information", "vote only democrat no matter what" and "believe what the mainstream press tells you because why would they lie" voters believe Tina Fey's parody of Palin was really her and have written her off as simply a joke.

But 3 years ago he could, and he says the potential to upgrade goes back that far. He just can't bring his old-time journalist heart to blame anything on a democrat.
  16. With all due respect to everyone, I see the OP's question as a valid one. The poster with 'Violency' in their name has a number of posts where obscure terms are used to denote specific personality traits. See their topic about 'Flying Monkeys' or the one with the old-time movie title for examples. Violency very well could have been one of those terms that had a specific meaning to those 'in the know'.

He simply means that it's "Bush's Fault" that he can't upgrade.
  18. In other words, the customer had no idea that y'all weren't open 24 hours and closed at 11:00 because nobody was allowed to tell them.
  19. I'm wondering if the continued use of terms based on movie characters or obscure movie titles helps or hinders the cause? Everytime I see read Flying Monkeys, I'm stuck on the minions of the wicked witch. No explanations will change that. It doesn't matter who comes up with those terms, they probably aren't helping the cause.
  20. For most retail what you say is true. As stated earlier, a Pharmacist is part of the medical profession, which we need to look at totally different than retail. Pharmacists weren't at work to day for the store to earn money, there were there so they could offer life-saving drugs if necessary.
  21. Probably because the news folks are calling Georgia Power instead of Greystone for information and comments.
  22. I saw the post. It said the daughter was a pharmacist, not pharmacy technician. To me, a pharmacist is a key part of the medical profession. They can't fill scripts without the pharmacist. If you had a sick child and your doctor called in a script to the nearest drug store, you would want the pharmacist to be on duty wouldn't you? The same thread someone posted about their daughter needing to go to work at Metro, but didn't say Metro what. If it's Metro PCS, it's crazy. If they mean Metro Ambulance, it's an understandable demand. I believe if this were simply about making money t
  23. My guess is the managers stayed voluntarily so they could meet the needs of any customer that might come by today. If they spent the night and forced employees to come in today, that's another matter.
  24. After re-reading the press release, I believe what they're going to do is have the carriers (Sprint, ATT, TMobile, etc.) send the notice to any cell phone that is currently physically in the affected areas. It won't matter what your number is, if your phone is in the area at the time, you will be sent the message.
  25. The snow trucks can't get on the roads if the roads are clogged with cars and 18 wheelers.
