  1. Absolutely a requirement in New Hampshire ( aka "The Granite State" )
  2. Yuengling, Sweetwater 420, IPAs, Corona with lime all the way up the bottleneck... and now I am fussy about tequila- only Petrone for me, thanks!
  3. Musings.....So here we are! Our daughter is now a senior, and so excited for senior year! Me having to jump her car this morning didn't phase her too much, (of course as she was backing out, I started doing a dance in the driveway that I KNEW would make her crack up.. )and she beeped her horn up the street in goodbye. So then of course, I get wistful...She has really done well, and deserves all the good things that come out of working really hard academically. We had a "BLIP" moment during 7th grade year, ( some of you may remember I was posting here with worry, wanted opinions and advice)but

    Big Rocks

My husband dreams of that. He looks for big rocks everywhere. He has built a horseshoe shaped fire pit and wants to finish stonepathways through my cottage garden walkway....
  5. Why does it seem that (from what quite a few people are bringing up on here) they end up leaving things UNDONE with parks around here? What about the park going in on Mulberry Rock Road? Is that still planned? Why DONT they finish one project before jumpng into another? Is there REALLY that much money that they can do that in SPLOST? And if there IS that much money, you who pay into that might want to consider some public ownership and rights of what is done with it, rather than have it just sitting in a pile for those who have more plans to spend rather than plan carefully... Curious- whats t
  6. Unless you have held that syringe full of blue (or pink) euthanasia solution with the needle on the end in one hand, and take the paw of an animal of the other, you will not know the answer to the question " why accept all the blame ". Taking a life away of a pet or a homeless animal is pretty heartbreaking inside yourself, as you inject the solution and watch the animal be over anesthetized to the point of loss of life. " God forgive me, and please take this poor soul to your home" is something that has gone through my mind.
  7. I am not directly or indirectly connected to this story. I read the " official " story (sarcasm) reported, last night, laying in bed with my ipad. I have a great deal I want to say on this. First of all, until the REAL story is known, people have to be really careful not to go running after someone/people before facts are known. It grabs all of our attention, because the situation is awful. Regardless of the circumstances, we can agree on that. Secondly, we don't know how the animal control and veterinarian handle the scheduling and placement of euthanasias. When I worked as a vet tech ( 1988
  8. Feel free to become a part, as an owner of a home here, even if you rent! I just need your email address - just PM me if you want to be a part of it. There are event invites, crime and safety reports, lost and found, services and recommendations, general, etc. Also let your renter know, or if you pass along his/her email, I can send them an official invite!
  9. I have started a neighborhood website on Nextdoor that encompasses Wisteria Way and Barrington Farms subdivisions. So far we have 8 members. We are talking about cleaning up the entryway of the subdivision as out first topic, and seems as though everyone is willing to take a part in it! There is also a place for those neighbors on there for classifieds, lost and found, events, safety and crime, and general. Please join us if you live in either of these neighborhoods! I will invite you if you send me a PM. We only have 12 more days to get 2 more members..
  10. wanted to mention I have become a member of this-hoping for the best. So far, with my neighbors that have joined, we have discussed cleaning up the entryway to our subdivision to make it look nicer...
  11. I thought I was the only one!!
  12. PUBBY- I don't yet have answers to your questions. Can I ( without malice intended) bounce back some at you? This is just so that I can know a little more of your perspective. Were there wars that Americans fought that were necessary to fight? Could we have possibly ( and this is in all seriousness, I would like to think about your point of view )not had the Revolutionary or Civil War? I lean conservative in many issues, but consider myself libertarian, and have some liberal leanings socially ( cant pin me down too easily) so this topic interests me. My father was a WWII veteran, my brother an
  13. SOMETHING should be done. I don't know if this is the answer- but kids are getting worse, and we have taken all teachers power away. Ridiculous. How about videotaping classrooms once the teacher hits a button to record what goes on when there is such an incident?
  14. Hoping you are getting what you are saying mixed up with ADHD. Because if not, you are way off base, and prepare to be pounded ( via peoples responses ) to your statement about autism. I am not liberal, so I am not coming from that direction. I do, however, know autism very well. So you made a mistake with that statement, and it looks ignorant. You might want to jump right on that to repair any credibility you may have had prior to this posting.
  15. Prayers sent Prayers sent
  16. I don't subscribe to any conspiracy..what makes me angry is the famous statement .."What does it matter anyway? ". what a POS she is.
  17. Butterfly Lion, I had such a god awful first year here in GA. It was 2006-2007. I missed my family and friends in New England horribly. I began to dig a butterfly and hummingbird garden, and I put a great deal of pain into the hard Georgia clay. My garden and pathways have come a long way, but it is still a huge work in progress. I don't necessarily follow gardening " rules ", so to speak, so even though I read your post long ago about starting a gardening group, I didn't think I would be welcome, as I am a " fly by the seat of your pants " gardener... I do love to share what I have too much
  18. Last year I was at a petsit, and one flew right down into my throat...AWFULAWFULAWFULAWFUL...I gagged, and retched for about a half hour. Then had to drink stuff to get that horrific FLAVOR from my throat. Easily in the top ten nasty things that have happened to me ( why do I see a spin off thread coming,LOL)
  19. Prayers for your son.....and for you and your family
  20. Why do I just want to take a bat to peoples heads that leave young children alone with dogs that have been bred by humans for intensity and strength, and once in "the red zone" , are genetically programmed to hang on?
  21. How wonderful! Congrats to you both!!
  22. I am very sorry that's why I said I wasn't sure if that area was kosher or not. I myself do not own or ride and therefore I guess I wil plead ignorance . Please accept m.y apologies
