  1. We haver a white elephant party every year. This year I ended up with this: I took a set of these: Redneck Wine Glasses. I actualy thought that they would be the gift that no one wanted but it turned out that everyone wanted them. It's always fun though.
  2. Ok...I understand the question...I think. What it boils down to has nothing really to do with the kids ages, but more to do with a parent telling another parent that she should not let her kid play with another kid because the other kid does not play with the 1st mother's kid. (In my head that made sense) To answer the original question...I think parents get way to involved int heir kids' lives thiese days. Childhood is their school for adulthood. That is the time when they get their feelings hurt, hurt others, fight with friends and learn how to work it all out for themselves. If t
  3. I hope to get a job in my new career field. I also hope that my 2 sons have an uneventful and successful year of college. If both of these factors work out then my wish for my husband to get his new fishing boat will also work out.
  4. Yes, it is on the 61 end of Nebo Road, very close to home for me. I am going to make sure that I share this with my family and neighbors.
  5. I resolve not to make a resolution. I never keep them anyway. I am more apt to do what I need to do it I don't make it a resolution.
  6. That is a fact. I think Adam Lambert is very talented and I LOVED him on Idol. I think he is learning the hard way that you have to check yourself in public when everyone knows who you are.
  7. I love that this is happening. This is what Christmas is all about!
  8. My oldest looks like my husband, but hehas my eyes. My youngest looks like me with his father's eyes.
  9. I have definitely been hooked. I DVR'd every episode. I said at the beginning that I didn't see how it could last unless the current family ended up the way they did, but it still surprised me. I can't help but wonder what next season cuold possibly bring.
  10. DONE...I had to be. We celebrate our family Christmas the weekend before Christmas so ours is over here. Now we have to go to Kentucky and celebrate 4 more Christmases. If I don't start early every year I go into straight panic mode because there are so many people to buy for. Oh, I wanted to add that just because we are going away fro Christmas does not mean our home will be unattended. With all the break ins lately we feel more comfortable having a house sitter.
  11. That is one of the best feelings in the world...Congratulations!!!!!!!
  12. Good for you. A nights's rest always makes things better.
  13. If you are looking for things to do, take the 10 minute trip into Savannah. You can experience Paula Dean's cooking @Lady and Son's. Take a walk on River Street and enjoy the cute little shops. Definitely try Savannah Candy Kitchen. A horse and carriage tour is not very expensive and you can see it all and decide what you want a closer look at.
  14. They have some really good falsies out now. You can probably find them at Sally's. There are some that you put on in individual lashes. It may take longer but looks more realistic than the old fake lashes that are in one piece. You could probably find a salon to do them or grab your BFF and put her to work. It is much easier for someone else to put them on you. Now...BREATHE...your beautiful lashes will grow back.
  15. I have had a hard time feeling Christmas-y too. It is supposed to be cold at Christmas!! On a side note- we have our family christmas early so that we can make it to everyone else's christmas, so my husband already got his gift...a Kindle Fire. Your son and daughter are going to love it. I have the old school Kindle and I have a little Kindle jealousy going on right now.
  16. I have learned a lesson over the years. If you really love someone, the physical attraction is there. We are attracked to love. BUT...many people do not realize that love is not the way you feel about someone. Love is the way somone makes you feel about yourself. It is impossible to love, therefore be attracted to, someone who makes you feel like you are not good enough.
  17. I don't know this to be true because it doesn't happen butI bet he would be SUPER HOT if he were washing dishes or vacuuming.
  18. From this thread I have learned that there is not right or wrong way to do it. Everyone's way is born of tradition and it is what makes them feel good. I can't remember toom uch about being a kid but I remember the feeling on Christmas morning when I woke up to find Santa had been at my house. I still smile when I think about shivering from being excited. That is what we all want our kids to feel, wrapped or unwrapped. I hope everyone of you gets that shivery feeling this Christmas.
  19. I have been married to the same man for 22 years and I still think he is very handsome. His looks have changed from when we first married but mine have too. What I have found it that what is attractive to me has also changed. Of course it is nice to see him dolled up, that is not as attractive to me as when I see him spending fun, quality time with the kids, working on something around the house, or wrestling with the dog in the living room floor. I find that I am more attracted to his qualities now than his appearance. Does that make sense?
  20. Since both my sons are in college and neither one has a job, this year I vowed to spend less on Christmas. I had to. But...I started early and bought a lot of things online when I found good deals. I think that for the most part they are getting what they asked for. A huge part of our Christmas budget goes with us to visit family. We buy for the grandparents and great-grandparents. My boys still have 6 grandparents, they are very lucky. Then we usually give monry to all the nieces, nephews, etc. We normally don't buy for our own brothers, sisters, cousins, etc. This year since I a
  21. That's good stuff. It is what Christmas is all about.
  22. I have different favorites at each house I visit. Christmas Eve Breakfast at the Great Granparent's house- I love her biscuits. They are homemade and small with a crispy crust and not thick and bready. Christmas Eve Dinner @ mother in law's- She has a simple fruit salad with an orange-yogurt dressing to top it off. YUMMY Christmas Break with my mom- Grits Casserole...no competition...my favorite of favorites!! Christmas night with the extended in-law family- brocolli casserole. By the time we get finished I am full and miserable!
  23. Kindle Fire, truck detail gift card, a new leatherman tool (his old one broke) and some little crap.
