  1. 44.1 to 44.5 It's getting close. I have heard of some schools letting the kids vote during lunch or something. Not sure if that's the case but they are gaining fast.
  2. PC is currently tied with 42.5% of the vote. I have a feeling this is going to come down to the wire.
  3. I just voted for the second time today. It looks like y'all have gained some ground. Last time I checked you had in the 37% range. Best of luck. I'll vote a few more times tonight.
  4. I'm a Raider but am excited for the Wolfpack. I am really excited for PC though! I hope this is the beginning of a great year for them.
  5. Well, I'm happy for PC and I am even happy for North even though I would have preferred a Raider win. The North fans were going crazy and you could tell it meant so much to them. I have a lot of friends at North. My daughter said this was the last year we would be playing them since they were moving up to a larger class. I was a bit distracted the whole game with something else but it looked to me like no one was protecting our QB or whatever guy it was that had the ball. I felt so bad for the guys with the ball. At one point one of them was holding off 4 plus North players but you just c
  6. Hmm....I understand the cash only. Not sure about the sending a picture of you drivers license. There could a good reason. Maybe they are wary of selling on Craigslist and want a record of who they are suppose to meet in case something bad were to happen. I've bought and sold a few things here and there on Craigslist and have always paid in cash. I guess I would prefer small bills as well as opposed to $100's.
  7. My kids don't even have smart phones but you would be surprised how many toddlers have tablets these days. If I could afford it my kids would each have one. If work gets busy enough I hope to get them each one in the next year sometime.
  8. I have two kids at East and neither of them have I-pads. I think it is a great idea though. Books are expensive and can become quickly outdated. Not all but some.
  9. I'll have to see how tall they are when they get home. They are both quite thin. I think the youngest will be in a 16 slim this year and the oldest is probably a 29/33.
  10. Thanks! I found a great article about jacket styles and pretty much decided on a one or two button. I also think the flat front pants and slim fit will work best. My boys are both tall and thin. I have a hard time finding pants for the younger one as it is. Last year the 14 slims were to short and the 16 slims were to big in the waist. The older one was a 29/32 last year and I am now trying to find him 29/33 as he keeps getting taller but not any bigger in the waist. In fact his pants are hang a little low without a belt. A couple of years ago we rented one for the older sons 8th gr
  11. I am looking at getting my two sons, one in 7th, the other in 10th grade, suits to wear to my brothers wedding this fall and wanted to know what to look for. I have noticed there are one, two and three button jackets, slim fit and regular, flat and pleated (one or two) front pants, shiny, non shiny, pinstriped, Italian, etc.. I want to get them something young and hip looking and not a going to the office kind of suit. This is my first time suit shopping so any thoughts, tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Are there certain brands(Brooks Brothers?, Calvin Klein?)geared toward
  12. East, Hiram (although I would love to see PC win) and South (simply because they're a PC school). So excited about all our North friends visiting the Boneyard. It's been too long.
  13. Otterboxes don't have to be expensive. The last one I bought was @$15 on Amazon with free shipping. For the record, every time I cracked my phone the otter box was off.
  14. I also recommend them. I've used them twice. My phone is currently cracked but I'm going to live with it until I get a new one in a few months.
  15. I'd be happy to take them off your hands.
  16. I am contemplating participating in a neighborhood yard sale. I just don't know if I can stomach it. Last time we had one was back in 2006 or 2007 I think the kids made more money selling lemonade, baked good and ice pops than we did. I really don't think they are worth the trouble. As far as pricing. Back when I used to go to yard sales I hated when things weren't priced. I take that back, I preferred they be priced but I hated when you would ask and the response would be to ask me what I thought it was worth or how much did I want to offer. I usually just skipped over those. I did
  17. I wouldn't say you are old fashioned or out of touch. I would say there have always been bad, sick kids/people in the world and today is no different. We just hear about it more. Please don't judge a whole generation by the acts of a few. There are a lot of amazing young people in the world today who will grow up to be amazing adults.
  18. My daughter and I have both donated twice. I have no idea if you can do it in memory of someone. If you find out I would be curious to know. It's been a while but if I remember correctly Lock of Love hair went to make wigs for those suffering from Alopecia while Wigs 4 kids focused on children with Cancer. There is also Wigs for kids and I think they make wigs for kids who have lost hair for a variety of reasons. Pantene Beautiful Lengths donates the wigs they make for free to women with cancer. There is one more company that I can't think of but I read about them in an article recently
  19. I recommend NCG. Student tickets are $8, matinees and Tuesday shows are $6 for everyone. On top of that for every ten tickets you get get one free. Drink-Popcorn combo's start around $7-8 and you can purchase extra popcorn cups for $1. I agree the movies have gotten expensive though. There are a couple of movies this past year that didn't come to NCG and I hated paying $10 plus dollars to see them. I like to see all the Oscar nominated movies before the awards show and that usually means hitting the artsy theaters, which except for the ticket price, I actually enjoy.
  20. My 11 year old niece started her period when she was 10. When my now 11th grader was in middle school she did a pageant at one of the local high schools. When she started school the next year we found out the runner up was pregnant. I had mixed emotions about it. I was glad the girl didn't have to run and hide away and it was nice to see all the support she had but at the same time I thought 14 was WAY too young to be having sex.
  21. Did he ask her out and then ask her to pay or did she ask him out? Call me old fashioned but if you ask a girl out you should pay. I would be embarrassed if my son asked a girl out and then asked her to pay her own way. Even if it were the other way and the girl asked him out I would hope he would at least offer to pay for her. Like I said I might be a little old fashioned.
  22. Well, this is a bummer. Oh well, I will still probably shop the same amount on Amazon. I use them when I can save money and time. My Mom added me to her Prime account so you can't beat the free two day shipping. Just last week I ordered the calculators my kids needed for school off Amazon. I did check several local stores while I was out and about school shopping and all were out of the calculators they needed. With the cost of gas it is just not worth it for me to check more than the three closets Walmarts and two closest Targets. Even then I get frustrated because I will check online a
  23. I've checked out several books on my Kindle over the past six months or so. The selection isn't huge but it's getting bigger all the time and I've read a handful of books I wouldn't have otherwise.
  24. Wow! That is crazy. I was just trying to picture it when I scrolled down and saw the pic. I am so glad no one was going over it when it went.
