TOM CRUISE AND KATIE HOLMS DIVORCING AFTER 5 YEARS..........
brown*eyed*girl replied to lowrider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I was just telling my daughter yesterday (we've been watching Dawson's Creek reruns this summer) that he tends to go about 10 years before trading in for a younger model. I was also wondering to myself if this marriage was all that she thought it was going to be or if she was suffereing in silence. I did leave out of our conversation that a friend of mine who has worked on several movies with Tom told me years ago that it was common knowledge in Hollywood that Tom" plays for the other team" so to speak. If this is true I have know idea what all the hush hush is about. There is no shame -
lol~~I hear ya. I forgot about it last week. I've now put it on season pass so hopefully I won't miss anymore.

We got it. It is in a pile with a bunch of others. I will sit down and read them all at some point and in the races I am not sure about I will see who is being negative or focusing more on trashing the other candidate and less about promoting them selves and base my vote on that. It usually doesn't come down to that but I am turned off by negative campaigning.

I'm going to skip reading all the negative responses and just say I think it's pretty cool that the President ate at the Varisty. We've eaten there once or twice and my kids will get a kick out of hearing that the President ate there as well.

My first thought was an appraiser as well. For about a year after we moved here we had them coming and taking pictures of our house. It freaked me out as well. Now that I am an appraiser I understand whoit is and why it is done when I see it happening in our neighborhood. If you have lived there for a while then the other reasons given make sense as well. Either way I don't think it is something you need to worry about. If they were not on the up and up they probably wouldn't have been so obvious about it.

Besides babysitting and the one day I survived picking blueberries it was working at Burger King. The following summer I worked at McDonald's and it was sooo much better. The two managers at Burger were sisters who lived together and they could be a nightmare when they weren't getting along. Also Burger King seemed to always be short staffed so they were constantly calling you in to work, whereas McDonald's seemed to be over staffed so you were more than likely give the opportunity to leave early. Although I do have one good memory of BK. I had gone to a Youth For Christ Pizza party a

This whole thing just breaks my heart. I don't know how a person gets through something like this, be it the parents who lost a child, the brother who found the girls or the grandmother/housekeeper who was at the home when it happened. I often think of the grandmother who accidentally ran over one of her Grandchildren a few years back on Christmas eve after a night of caroling. I pray for her and will pray for this family as well for years to come.

I have two friends who used LL and both were quite happy. I know another person who is using them right now. We looked into them when we were shopping around but actually found what we wanted was less expensive at Lowe's of all places.

Garbage cans do not belong in the street
brown*eyed*girl replied to November Rain's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Just wanted to add that garbage cans don't belong on the same side of the driveway as the mailbox either. We did this for years (there is just enough room between the mailbox and the driveway for a trash can to fit) and finally a year or two ago we got a note from the PO asking if we could put it on the other side. It might actually have been more of a visual picture of where to put and not put your trash cans, anyways, I had never really thought about it until then. I'm sure the mail delivery people don't appreciate the flies or bugs that trash attracts or the smell for that matter. -
Running for Re-election and can use your support please

Thanks for the sign. I picked it up the day I talked with you and it has been in my front yard ever since. -
We use American Disposal and are happy with them. In the past we used W.A.D.E. and BLD and were happy with them as well. We switched to American Disposal because they offered recycling and on top of that it was cheaper for Trash and Recycling from them than we were paying at the time for just trash. I also wanted new cans. Not that that was a decision maker but I had asked for a newer can and was unable to get them. No matter how hard I try to keep them smelling as nice as possible, after years and years of service (and my neighbor hiding his huge beer bottles in them so his wife doe

You have my vote as well and I would love to put a sign in my yard. I can come pick it up as I will be heading out to Hiram shortly. I will PM you my cell and you can text me the address to pick it up at. -
If someone asked you to clean their house,
brown*eyed*girl replied to dawneykids's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I too was wondering if maybe grandma didn't have an accurate concept of how much was enough to pay. I remember one time my Grandpa taking a bunch of us out to eat and you know I love that man but he did not know how to tip. He would come in with his coupons and go over that bill like a fine tooth comb and then leave 10% or less of what the bill came to. He didn't realize you tip on the amount it would have been if not for all the coupons and specials. He also thought 10% was just fine until I told him different. Anyways, this one time we were all sitting there done with our food and the w -

Yes, yes, yes. The one at the top and the bottom. I love that button. I remember back before someone turned me onto it....definitely easier to see what's new now that I use it.

When my kids were younger they used to LOVE seeing Ken Scott at the library. It was always one of the highlights of the summer reading program. The kids librarian back then was a total sweetheart. I remember her husband would come in and do a event about snakes or bugs. My boys really enjoyed that as well.

Well, I was thinking about getting some stackable birthstone rings for Mother's Day and was wondering if anyone had any and if they liked them and where they got them and maybe even post a picture. BUT.... that got me thinking about some of the Mothers Day gifts I've gotten and what stands out to me as a favorite. I would have to say my favorite Mother Day gift was the year the kids painted some rocks for me. There are a bunch that are just randomly painted and then three, which of course say I, Love and You. I keep them on my dresser. I also love all the little things my kids used

LOL~ My husband has worked every Mothers Day since I met him 20 years ago except for the first but often after we would have kids he would say "Honey, you should take the day off and not do any housework" My unspoken response was always something to the effect of how can he consider that a day off when everything is still waiting there for me to do the next day. Some years I plan something fun to do with the kids, other years I actually clean more than usual and then other times I get together with my Mom and Sister and her family. That is what I am doing this year. They live in South

Hiram Post Office ALMOST closing in July
brown*eyed*girl replied to GreenThumbsnButterfingers's topic in RECENT TOPICS
When we moved from Woodstock to Dallas 10 years ago I was shocked at the lack of customer service at the Dallas PO compared to the one in Woodstock. I come from a family of postal workers~my Dad is a retired Post Master and I have an uncle and a cousin who both have worked for the postal service for years. I even spent a summer working for them back when I was in college (not the one my Dad worked at though). This was up in Michigan. Anyway, I have never been a fan of the Post Office here in Dallas. -
I'll be pulling for Phillip as I have since the beginning. He and Hollie were my favorites. J and J do have amazing voices though and totally deserve to be in the final 3. Between the two J's I prefer Joshua.

I am so sad for you and what you are having to go through. I'm another who has been down that road and 3 kids and many years later I still think about and miss that little one often.

We talk to her. Of course she seems to understand and respond better when my kids are asking her silly questions. When I need something it seems like more often than not she is "sorry" but can't helpme right now~lol. Oh well when she works it is defintely convenient when I need to call a business or find out where the closest whatever is located.

So excited that 11 Alive will be at Abney tomorrow. According to a note sent home with my son, W.C. Abney is one of only 5 schools in Metro Atlanta that have been selected as "11 Alive and NBC's Favorite schools as part of their Education Nation initiative. Hopefully a lot of families will turn out to show support despite the insanely early hour . Mr. Gregaydis is doing such an amazing job as the principal. They will be filming live from 6:00 to 7:00 am.

Anyone else catch Ryan's slip on Idol just now?
brown*eyed*girl replied to mom2dachs's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Just got around to watching it. The duet between Joshua and Phillip was my favorite performance of the night. I rewatched it a second time and it was funny watching how they would turn to sing to the other and then catch themselves because they were singing with a guy. It was too funny. I literally laughed out loud. I must have missed Ryan's slip because I heard him say that one of these girls "could" be the next AI, first female in five seasons or something like that. I even rewinded that part. Maybe he said it another time but I tried not to forward through anything other than the
