  1. sounds more like Show Off night, for pretentious adults; this would ruin my vacation! You're a champ to go for it!
  2. Well, you are about to get your wish! Someone is opening a coffee/bake shop near the Dallas theater, hoping to cater to the theater crowds! She will open this month. Don't know all the details, but she might consider bagels, sandwiches, if we all suggest there would be a market for them.
  3. We went last week, but it was closed.
  4. people who call or text and expect immediate answers; I MIGHT be busy or just not want to answer for whatever reasons are mine. And then say, "where were you? I called 10 times, your cell, house, DH's cell".
  5. Now, HE is a HERO!! Not a sports figure, or movie star or singer. A true hero!
  6. well,,,don't think there are "rules", but we've done just what you're thinking. It's hard to be encouraging to you at this time. We had a tight (covered anything we could think of) contract signed, but renters don't cut the grass, kill weeds growing in cracks in d.way or s.walks, around mailbox, trim dragging tree limbs, pick up trash everywhere in their yard,or pay on time. We said rent was due by 5th, but would be $50 less if paid before the 5th. That has never enticed them. The guy had a downturn in work, so we lowered rent, asked them to do small repairs under $50 themselves. They jus

  8. is this the church in Kansas with about 100 members? I googled to find out and this is what I came across.
  9. at Hiram w.mart, but the Dallas Hwy. one is full of average folks during the day...for real!
  10. We don't live in Dallas, but it's refreshing to see and hear of new blood and ideas in this county. Good luck!!
  11. just finished Amy Tan's Saving Fish from Drowning; just starting to reread an oldie: Carson McCullers' The Heart is a Lonely Hunter. I love southern writers.
  12. happy to trade in my $35 hummingbird plate!!
  13. YES!! just told D, and we guessed it must be them. So they don't travel, they're just part of the "family" I guess. I thought they always lived in large groups. Maybe these are independent!
  14. you're kidding!!!!! Now I'm wondering where!!
  15. there's a gypsy community in Acworth, but don't know more than that; the women, kids are very recognizable; the boys wear gold chains, girls have very long hair, mothers are young, wear a lot of heavy plastic jewelry, very tight clothes, quite a few white heels...very interesting people
  16. a friend has a "sweet, wouldn't hurt a fly" pit; when I was entering their house, this dog pushed by me to get out and raced to the fence, bounced off it growling & lunging at the neighbor! Scared me to death and the neighbor said some foul words. My friends laughed, thought it was funny. I was appalled and won't return, if it is still there. The dog belongs to their druggy son, who is camped out there for a while.
  17. We loved it, a few yrs. ago. It's "old FLA". Very easy going, reasonably priced, nothing thrilling, but we really enjoyed the beauty and peacefulness of it.
  18. ate breakfast there this morning, and all seemed to be the same at Doug's in Emerson
  19. Jeanne O'Halleran earned my gratitude for being a tough, no nonsense attorney in what could be a rough situational divorce. My family member felt so confident, with Jeanne by her side at court and said she couldn't have asked for a more calm, dependable, serious attorney who really listened to her and represented her. She understands the cost concern and keeps client aware of how to keep expenses down. I now add my kudos to Jeanne and a heartfelt thanks!!
  20. some folks have family members who are disabled and have the hang tag for them; BUT the driver uses it whether the disabled person is with them or not. I see this a lot, where the young driver bounds out of the big SUV (today at Sam's) or van.,,in fact know someone quite well who does that. And a handicapped driver, who parks in a space, and remains in the car while his wife goes in.
  21. and..................... the purpose of the op's post???
  22. It was never discussed in my house, other than it was sad.
