  1. we also used Publix for the flowers; this was 10 yrs ago, but I'm not sure if they still do them. They were just as we ordered and were beautiful. We did have to pick them up ourselves, but that worked fine and saved hundreds of dollars.
  2. Locked gates have a BANK OWNED sign on them.
  3. I'm in the middle of chemo for breast cancer and just asked about the genetic testing. The oncologist said it only tests the 2 genes previously mentioned and that there seem to be more unidentified genes contributing to it. I plan to have it done, as soon as I'm finished with treatments, because I have 2 daughters and want to do whatever I can for their sakes. Also, breast cancer is much, much more curable than in the past. The aggressive chemo I'm having for stage 2, is tolerable; about a week of nausea etc. (no vomiting..good drugs), then 2 much better weeks before the next chemo. I've he
  4. her hair was not right and seemed as tho she had a facelift, which may have added to the "odd" look we don't remember...loved the show
  5. a young mother I know well, kept 2 yr. olds for $200/wk. That included breakfast, lunch, 2 snacks, juice, milk, activities etc. The parents were teachers and pleased to pay that for a decent home and educated mom to love and teach their kids. She did not feel she was over paid.
  6. NE Paulding gives you access to Hwy. 41, which takes you into Marietta, or the Barrett Parkway for ATL. Schools vary widely in this very diverse county and a new building is just that, and never take it as an indication it is what would be best for your children. RESEARCH and good luck.
  7. sooooo, that person is a p.com member, who will see your statement???
  8. Some issues I'd like to hear about are: the historic area needs water/sewage upgrades, in order to come into the modern era!!! That is disgraceful, that a store can't let patrons use the restroom, due to the problems the city won't address. Easy parking for city events would be a boost, also, and much more convenient for elderly & families with children, rather than shuttles.
  9. A simple, easy aide is to make an example for all the letters he reverses. Leave out A, U, those which would never be an issue etc. Write them with a broad black marker on a strip of sturdy poster board type paper and keep it handy, while he wrties at home and have him check a letter he may often confuse (G). OR Buy a pack of ABC desk strips and have his teacher put one on his desk to use and keep others at home. This is a simple idea which works AND it does correct itself, if there are no other issues involved, such as reading problems, number reversals etc. Good luck.
  10. if she's a quadraplegic, she probably can't use a keyboard
  11. the most embarrassing decision I've ever heard of a school system making; really just stupid
  12. We don't go, because of the parking situation and no bathrooms; with 4 little kids it's just too much trouble to park, ride a shuttle, or walk a distance, and then deal with no bathrooms, and that's sad!
  13. If anyone knows this family, will you P.M. Please?
  14. we've had old type and the reception when calls come in, is spotty at best; we're looking at new one, so we'll be watching to see what you find out! Not sure why I feel we have to have a house phone; I can't give out # anymore, since incoming calls are awful. Maybe the new one will work better.
  15. NEVER again; went about 15 yrs. ago, before all this hyped up stuff and vowed then, NEVER. Sales go on for 30 + more days..no rush.
  16. Go get those sorry folks who kill innocent people every day with their selfishness. My tax $ at work? GOOD.
  17. we saw one slinking around the front yard of a house in the subdivision next to E.Paulding high in the daytime; didn't even run as we drove by. I thought they came around at night, but guess not.
  18. a friend was killed a few years ago, when a deer ran in front of his motorcycle on CH James parkway at night; to those of you who go down Poplar Springs Rd. and Lake Rd., deer are everywhere, please watch out
  19. daughter's neighborhood had tons of people walking last year; very few this year and we were wondering why? Not as many houses lit, nor treaters.
  20. thanks to p.com, I will NEVER buy another dog, nor recommend anyone doing anything but getting a rescue! Thanks to everyone who puts this out in front of us every day! That is one lucky little angel.
  21. wish Josh would wash his hair and shave a bit around the cheeks; would be cute, if he looked clean; fabulous voice and demeanor
  22. Jaycee Dugard was 10, walking alone to the bus stop, within sight of her house, when grabbed...please be sure adults are at the stop for the elem. kids before you send yours alone.
  23. It never was a church, it was built on the site of an old one, to be used for functions, such as weddings, etc. The builder was a lady who operated an event business out of her other house, the large white house and functions would sometimes be from one to the other one, across the pasture. It was written up in ATL paper and was quite a beautiful venue. She didn't have a business license in Cobb and was put out of business. It is in Cobb. A friend of ours bought the big white house in about 1999, then later sold it...and the rest has been divided and built upon. We tried over and over to
