  1. The very beginning of the video establishes the thrust of fear being raised and it took that fear of terrorism and sought to convert it to a fear of government. It is in my mind quite a sophisticated bit of propaganda, the purpose of which is to destroy trust in government institutions. What is the purpose of this? It is, as you can imagine, political. There are those in the country who are already rallying around some figures whom they will begin marketing as the restorer of trust. Indeed, if this campaign to destroy trust succeeds, I can guarantee you that the next GOP ca
  2. Joe: You were supposed to say, "I'm the celebrity, I'm the Celebrity." And Laurie was supposed to say, "No you're not, no you're not, I am, I am." Ithy was supposed to say, nope the Herminator is the only real celeb there ... and we'd all have some 'drama' as we sorted it out. pubby
  3. Be careful of your sources here folks. If you poke around the Jones Report and Prison Planet you begin to see ads for survival food. Indeed, the next shortage predicted is food. Bottom line these folks are stretching the reports in an effort to heighten fear and concern as their prosperity is based on people being scared to death of a whole host of things from 'no bullets' to 'no food' to poison shots given by your guberment. The point is they have an agenda and that is to sell your things you will only need if the society collapses. Reading their stuff with its emphasis on how f
  4. In times like these, I like to get a few cans of corn, green beans, another can of beans, and then some ground beef (a pound or so) fried up and chopped into smaller pieces. Add that to a couple of small cans (or one large can) of cream of mushroom soup, throw in some water (a bit) and about eight ounces of cream of cheese and let simmer to a boil. Crack a couple of eggs - two to four - in it and stir while boiling and along with some red pepper and some other seasonings ... you end up with a amalgam stew. All this in a 10 quart stew pot. Oh, and if you have some leftover rice, or may
  5. Don't worry about it Nick. You do great work and I'm constantly amazed at your ability to restore old photos. I'm sure in that area, you probably rank high in the top 100 photo restorers in the nation. I've missed the topic about the hand but I did get a kick out of the one about guns and school - the senior pictures with rifles and shotguns. Good stuff! pubby PS: You do know that if the criticism was in one of the posts you started, you are protected by our commerce member rules. 8. I went to the link suggested by Mikey: The first question more or less settles this ... I would inform the landlord that you will be out on a date specific that is convenient to you. That he has threatened you more or less buys you that time. Don't be bullied. BTW: I gather we are talking about a week to ten days to be out. My gut is that the landlord will grant you the time as starting legal action will cost him at least $90.00 in filing fees and if it is a matter of a few days, if he has any sense at all, he'll take you at your word, give you a few days and save the

  16. If you are using PS elements, it gives you the ability to reduce the size of the graphic to 100x150 in jpg format. There is no way that a jpg graphic that size - sized at 100 percent - will be any where approaching 164kb.... Figure about 15kb ... and that should work fine. pubby

  18. The man is absolutely stupid. He should have turned an walked away under the law. The law also provides guidance in weighing other options. For instance, slapping the mother would have been a simple assault - a misdemeanor - and that might have quieted the kid as well. Certainly the law would frown less on that act given that slapping the kid multiple times is considered felony child abuse. Further, as one could ask for a jury trial on the charges, one wonder if one might have been able to get off for the act of decking the inconsiderate mom. I mean, the educated grizz
  19. here they are ... I would actually rather win this 'smaller' jackpot than one of the massive one's ... I mean this one would net us about $5 million cash total divided by what, 30 folks (give or take a few.) will net us all about $100,000-150,000 which is a damn fine payday. So, which one is the winning ticket ? megamillions.pdf pubby
  20. Winchester: I think you're wrong to assert that this effort is borderline 'criminal' as the acts suggested here are in no way illegal. The rules on the site are that commerce members are allowed to make their pitch without interference as they've paid for the privilege of having a topic that is their advertisement. This topic was started by me because this is the way concerns about these kinds of efforts are addressed. On its face, the proposal presented appears perfectly legal. I do think it is appropriate to recognize the risks to the person selling their home in

  22. Freebird: That was an interesting bit with Fernando. Nice fellow and the first time in my days as a reporter where the public is allowed to really glimpse some of the thinking of those who are seeking to locate a commercial expansion. As far as the donation of food to the Animal Shelter ... I must have missed that one altogether. If someone has some video, we could note it in next weeks show or you can tell us about it in greater detail here. Heck, we could even put a youtube in this topic of that news. pubby

  24. Less than eight months ago, the entire banking/financial system was in danger of an utter collapse. people were doing things during the 'good days' that suggested that the building boom/bubble based on real estate values would never deflate. When real estate values fell - and I think the average valuation of homes in Paulding on the county tax digest fell an average of 17.5 percent - those 'good loans' you have on your house all of a sudden don't look so good. I actually believe that we in this community should look to our local community institutions and our patronage frank
