  1. Fennell is his name and I believe the guy on the TV was a former mayor. Another Mr. Fennell - Richard - is mayor now. Through a mutual acquaintance, we are offering to do an interview with the current Mayor. Do know that while there are no doubt things that are interesting, TV reporters like to hype things and make them look worse - sometimes a lot worse - than they actually are. What's the deal? I don't know the particulars but the majority of the voters there are all from one extended family. Of course they elect one of themselves to the city offices. I know that there we

  3. One problem solved. I actually have a piece of software that I prefer for webcasting. It is one that I use for the News and programs in the studio. I had it installed on my 'main' laptop and I've had it work and then sometimes it doesn't - there is some conflict. Anyway, I spent about two hours yesterday trying to get it work on the laptop I planned to use for the netcast. I never could get it to do so with the end result being that the video quality of that captured on my hard drive - which is relatively low resolution with ham-fist-ed on the fly ubber compression. Its bad and
  4. We put the full video on for the benefit of the folks at Folkstyle Championship wrestling. I have an idea several of the guys want to see their performances. This was an experiment and one of the big issues was getting Internet access. We got it but only after we had given up Seriously. Beyond that we did some things pretty good and some things poor to middling. For instance, the only software I could get work to do the recording while I stream is responsible for the less than crisp video. If you happen to watch longer, you'll see that light, too is an issue but we knew tha
  5. If you want to see what you missed at Stars and Strikes last night, we offer a video. A couple of key points. First, the video lasts over three hours. For that reason, it is not the best because ... well if you record in a higher bit rate media ... you lose your hard drive when you start talking in hours of video. Well, that is the main reason although I do need to get a little different mobile unit. pubby
  6. the show begins for sure on pcom as soon as we can get it going

  8. THE FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHTS ** Stars and Strikes invited us to live play the Folkstyle Championship Wrestling show they put on Friday night. We couldn't resist, called Ron Crist to borrow his big 4x4 truck for a production platform and waited while folks gathers and got into the mayhem. It starts a little slow ... we didn't do any editing ... but hey, this is about you who were there and kids getting in the ring. Enjoy. 9. It is not a totally dead issue but Zoo is right, one can use a standard business membership. For instance, there is nothing in the rules that would allow, say three of you to go in together and share a single business membership ex: Peter, Paul and Mary crafts ... and each of you use the business membership only for business. You would use your regular membership for posting socially and because each of you has the signon and password ... you all use it to promote your crafts only. pubby

  12. I grin a lot when I write That is exactly what I was saying ... or at least trying to say. I understand and from the 'official' website side of things, it is private. We bullet folks for posting PM's on the open board. PM's, folks should know, are really like an audio tape you send one person and they record over (usually) or sometimes add to the tape their comment. Usually there is not an issue, it is private but as law allows, either party of the communication may show it. This makes it somewhat like a recording of a threat ... it can be evidence if a p
  13. That someone might kill the bear was not even considered ... seriously. However, now that you mention it, if the bear is posing an immediate threat, I would suggest defending one's self and given laws regarding killing such an animal, it would probable be a good idea to have a video showing it to be a justified kill. pubby

  18. gosh, that sounds a lot like facebook On the larger subject, one of those expressing that putting politics in the open forum thought that would help moderate the forum. Another alternative would be to have a select topic/topics moved to a public political forum. Opening new topics might be limited to mods/staff but the idea would be to move topics of general public interest from the political forum to the open forum... maybe one or two a day. Still it would be obvious that only the better topics would be given that kind of presentation. Crud that passes for disinformation

  20. Absolutely the mistake could have killed her child and she would no doubt have been devastated if it had. But there is a big, humongous, enormously significant difference between this act of stupidity brought about by desperation and the conscious act of trying to cook her child in a car. I just don't personally think that the failure to be 'creative' is a big, humongous, enormously significant CRIME. pubby
  21. The idea that people are always thinking rationally is a fallacy. She didn't think. She made a mistake. She should not have left the baby in the car. I do think that it was a mistake based on the practical impossibility of her being able to handle the dog and the baby and the two other children at the same time. She got the dog into the vet's office and was probably 'engaged' by the receptionist who told her to sit down and keep her dog and the vet will be with her in a minute. In her circumstance, she would have had to bring the dog into the vet, TELL the receptionist to
  22. It would appear that the Minnesota Attorney General ferreted out 'conflict of interest' in the case of one of the largest arbitration firms used by companies to collect disputed debts. The company 'withdrew' from the arbitration field as part of its settlement after it was discovered they had a direct interest in the amount of collections their arbiters ordered. That discovery is expected to impact the debate in Congress whether to make null the clauses in consumer contracts prohibiting their access to the courts and instead, require all disputes be resolved using binding arbitration using a

  24. Not that his passing from the scene as news anchor had anything to do with it but it is obvious that from about the time he retired in the late 1970's no one else has earned the respect he had 'as the most trusted man in America.' And that is what makes his passing that much more sad. pubby
  25. That was cool ... and I agree with Juleebella about the Beatles ... but alas, Paul was but one of four and it was the combination of him, George, John and Ringo (not to mention the others) who came in and made their music the broadening experience it was. What would you do if I sang out of tune, would you stand up and walk out on me pubby
