  1. You can play probably two or three pages. In a game, one card can only win once and you cannot win on more than two different cards in any one night. Under the rule you could win at most four prizes if each of the two cards on the two pages hit.... and that is even if you were playing 2 dozen cards, pubby PS: Clear as mud, right
  2. 1.35 mills including everything. I believe that is $1.35 per thousand taxable value. Of that, 1.1 mills is to cover the bond and .25 mills is for an increase in the county M&O.) I.e. if your property is worth $100,000 --- your taxable value would be 40,000 so it would be an increase of like $54.00. If your property is worth $1,000,000 - you are JREwing after all) - your taxable value would be $400,000 and taxes would increase about $540.00 (assuming your valuation was constant over the previous year.) pubby
  3. Egg and cheese omelets will be served up ... see below ... but did you know that Paulding is largely overlooked for such freebees from government sources? Probably not. If you look in the notice below you'll see the role played by Brown's Foods ... who are storing the 30000 eggs and 2.5 tons of cheese coming our way. Did you know that if Helping Hands had access to a cooler facility or even a cooler truck, they could get in September, probably 4000 chickens for distribution? The challenge is to find a facility of some sort that could accommodate this opportunity.
  4. First, I didn't see anyone getting rude and I hope I don't come across that way. Second, you do have to be a paying member to post a house for rent standalone ad. Free classified are one of the benefits of membership. third, you can post an ad for free without being a paid member by posting it in the 'rental property grab bag topic' as a 'reply' .... Finally, the got the goods unpaid forum is a forum where no one posts at all. Rather, when someone breaks the rules by posting a great deal in the cafe with out a membership, we move it to the got the goods unpaid - which is v

  6. I was in NY that summer ... but I didn't go to woodstock... instead had a intern job in Brussels Belgium. A couple of the girls on the plane I flew over on talked about it - they were princesses - and they were ditching the opportunity to go there for europe. Heard about it though pubby
  7. That would be the 'business membership" ... If you are a member of the Paulding Chamber of Commerce or Paulding Business Association, we have a membership that allows you to 'promote' that affiliation ... if not we have the PCOM BIZ membership which is the same membership with the same benefits on PCOM as the others. What you might want to do is upgrade to the biz membership. Usually paypal will just upgrade you for the difference which is fine or if, say you bought a monthly classified for $4.99 and then upgrade it to PCOM BIZ ... it might 'expire your membership' at the end of 30 day
  8. It is actually trolling and we don't tolerate that kind of behavior. pubby
  9. Suggesting that someone is in jail is on its face slanderous. Second, you posts are basically designed to get a rise of out of folks. Where I come from that is trolling. I don't need a troll under the bridge. pubby
  10. For a band doing a CD, the costs really are pretty reasonable. for music to be included with action (video/photos/etc.) there is a thing called a synchronization license and my understanding is that folks like Harry Fox or ASCAP do not have the ability to issue those. Rather ... and this is the rub ... you have to go to the actual copyright holder directly. The problem is that moving pictures to music is such a hot thing - everyone wants to do it - and it potentially is great (think soundtracks to movies and the $$ Microsoft paid to the Rolling Stones to use 'turn me on' to launch

  12. And the plain fact is that had the bond for the courthouse not been a part of the equation, the marginal increase in the M and O operation would not have made up for the decline in property values and would have the net effect of being a tax cut. For the record, when the taxable value of a parcel of property increases, the tax goes up even as the millage rate remains the same. Ditto when the base value of the a parcel that declines in value ... The tax goes down and depending on the increase in the millage rate, may indeed be a net tax cut. Indeed, there will be some homeowners wh
  13. I actually saw the ex-chair dude tonight at the rodeo and he suggested that he plan to avoid a 'tax increase' for the courthouse. How? He asserted he planned to sell land along the frontage on 278 on the south east side of Constitution avenue ( the strip of land southeast of the courthouse complex) for commercial development. He said that the land would have brough upwards of eight million and he had at least on financial institution close to the dotted line. He suggested the sale would have allowed the county to avoid the tax increase this year for sure and maybe most of next year. Howeve

  20. Tell your friend that when they receive the confirmation, they need to open it and click to confirm. If they've done that, just wait a little bit and I'll approved the validated memberships. We used to do that automatically but about 30 percent of the prospective registrations - 3 to 5 a day - are likely spammers from India, China, the Phillipines, Romania, Germany, Russia and the like. To keep these folks from coming in and posting porn (it has happened), I have approve each account individually. pubby

    Why

First, I've not received 20 complaints about one CM not deliverying the goods as promised. Typically, action occurs after two or three complaints. You've been posted the message three times because you made your complaint to the BBB and I was aware of another complaint. What you're trying to do is punish someone and that is what courts are for. The community is aware of the issue you have. It doesn't need to be nor will I allow it to be top news for weeks on end. By asking that the complaint topic remain open for a long period of time, that is apparently what you're asking fo
  22. gpatt0n

    Why

that's silly. Call the Sheriff's office and you can bet your sweet bippy that it will be news if they are caught taking the money and running. If a CM is not able to be contacted with issues that are raised privately, I will let the community know as well. I've stripped more than a couple of CM's of their membership, BTW. the other question is whether I should publish the people that owe me money? You know I could ... just write them down and say these folks cheated me and you better be careful or they'll cheat you ... but I don't Rather, I will if and when I go to
  23. gpatt0n

    Why

You can PM someone or, go file the complaint for criminal fraud (that works too) or even hit the Stars or rating on the CM's listing. If someone has 2 stars or less, you can bet they have issues. (I say two stars because there are folks who use the rating system as a popularity meter and seek to show folks they don't like them this way.) Post a note to the persons 'about me page' saying PM me. pubby
  24. gpatt0n

    Why

Caroline Elizabeth. What everyone needs to know is that there are always going to be disputes in business. Usually they are handled 'amicably' but sometimes they come to a head. The second thing everyone needs to know is that there are courts established by the state to determine who is at fault and it is not always the one who tells (or possibly embellishes) the best story. Pcom is just not a very good place to hash these kinds of disputes out. If we didn't have the rule that that you had to put your money where your mouth is ... or at least file a complaint with the BBB ... an
