  1. Regarding the census workers - we had two in our neighborhood last Friday afternoon and neither one was wearing a yellow vest. They each wore a lanyard with photo ID and information on it.

  3. I'll take a salty snack over a sweet snack any day. I love buttered, salted popcorn. But my favorite sweet snack is Brach's Maple Nut Goodies! Mmmm. Tastes like pancakes with peanut butter and syrup! Mmmmmm.
  4. I dread the return of Freaknik. I work in Atlanta (Bankhead Hwy./D.L. Hollowell Pkwy.) almost to Lowery Blvd. It was always hectic on Bankhead and at Maddox Park during that time. Traffic, tons of people. Actually, most of what we saw were just young adults having fun, hanging out together, loud music, etc.. I can't remember ever seeing anything "bad" - just tons of people in the street so it made you afraid you would run somebody over. We always had to leave work early (noon) so we could get home and not get stuck in the junk. There were always quite a few cops around back then (early '90's

  6. I think this is it!!!!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This one looks like a keeper too! The combo of vanilla ice cream and orange juice makes me think of those orange dream pops from the ice cream truck! Thanks!!!!
  7. Thanks! I remember it being easy to make and really good. I just don't want to mess it up because I don't remember how much of what to put in it! My husband even liked it and he HATES Jell-o usually.
  8. I got a recipe on here last year for an orange jell-o salad that had orange jell-o, orange sherbet and mandarin oranges in it. I can't find it anywhere at home and a search on this site has turned up nothing. I find plenty that have other stuff in the recipe but this one just had those three things (and water of course!). I can't remember how many Jell-o boxes and how much sherbet to use! Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
  9. I also went home for lunch in middle and high school. We lived one block away from each. There was no such thing as "closed campus" then. We did what we wanted, as long as we came back in time for the next class!
  10. Two weeks ago, I also had a rash from amoxy (don't know how to spell it!!). I had the rash all over the trunk of my body - red like a sunbburn but when you looked closely at it you saw tiny red bumps that felt like sandpaper. Doctor said it was a reaction to meds and to stop taking it and take benadryl. He switched me to a different antibiotic - let your pharmacy know you are allergic to penicilin (again, don't know how to spell that).
  11. HHS web site says elementary gets out at 10:30 and middle and high school gets out at 11:30. No ASP or any after school activities.
  12. Dr. Jason Turner? (770) 439-9119. That's my son's dentist and he is behind the restaurant and next to Sparkles and Wal-Mart.
  13. That sounds like what our subdivision chose. We no longer have an HOA so that must have been our only option. I know a neighbor told me that each street name (the part that hangs down from the sign) would have cost about $100 to replace. I wish I could get my hands on the thugs who think it's cool to trash their own neighborhood.
  14. I'm not sure how much help this will be but a few years ago (2 or 3), some kids took the street signs down in our neighborhood. We had decorative wooden signs and the street name hung down. All of the street name signs were pulled down. I guess the name part wasn't wood because nobody seemed to be able to fix them. Some were found right below the signs, some were broken in half and thrown in the bushes and others were found down the storm water drains (some kids climbed down to look!). Someone must have called to report it because within less than 2 weeks, the decorative sign posts and s
  15. That was exactly what I just thought!!!!!
  16. I second that recommendation. Dr. Anderson is a very good surgeon.
  17. Is March 11th the official date for the ball now? I'm glad I hadn't cooked my chicken yet when I got the call. I did make a dessert that we will have to eat tonight! My son is on drill team and the meet is cancelled for tomorrow. Does anyone know if they reschedule that as well?
  18. These are all the boy names in my family: Robert Wayne Alex Michael Nathan Drew Luke Michael Steven Tyler (he's mine - my husband LOVES Aerosmith...) Jacob Michael Nicholas Robert Adam Thomas Ryan Andrew The common middle name of Michael is because three of my 4 sisters married men name Michael and they took the middle name from their husbands.
  19. My dad wears gray flannel and it is really nice. Not perfumey but distinguished. I couldn't remember the name of it - Thanks!

Praying for peace and strength for your family. This is very sad news to hear this morning.
  21. I'm 5' 4" and I wear a size 7-1/2. I always have since about 8th grade. That's what I love so much about buying shoes - no matter how fat I get, I still wear the same size shoe. I can go to any store and pick up a size 7-1/2 and know it will fit without trying it on. I never try on shoes.
