  1. OK. I have a question regarding driver's ed..... My 16 1/2 YO son got is learner's permit this past Saturday (I have been crossing myself and muttering novena's ever since). Should he learn to drive with us for a while and then take the driver's ed course or should he take the driver's ed course first and then continue with us and do the 40 hours, etc. I realize that by the time he gets his license he will be almost 18, but we are making him do all the things you have to do to get one at 16. Anyway, when do you do the driver's ed course? Thanks.
  2. that's about what we paid for my son's braces 6 years ago. We had to pay more because he had to wear them for over 5 years but we got a discount for paying in full at the start. My son has a total of over $13,000 worth of dental work/surgery in his mouth! The price they gave you doesn't seem out of line to me.   3. Driver's Ed was required for graduation in IL. We took it as a 9 wk class and the other 9 weeks you had to take health. You had to take it around the time you turned 16. When the class started, you got your learner's permit and started driving with your parents and the driver's ed teacher. After you passed the class, behind the wheel and class tests, you got to go and get your license (if you had turned 16). My class was too full so I had to wait until 2 months after I turned 16 to take driver's ed. If you didn't pass driver's ed, you didn't get a high school diploma. We had a kid in ou
