Northern Tool has a 10 ton for $119.00. If you look at the setup, it doesn't look too challenging to build your own with a cylinder jack and a splitter wedge of some kind. Unfortunately, it looks like the wedge will be the costly part. You should talk a neighbor into sharing the cost/custody of the tool . . . $119.00 Splitter . . .

If a calling post had been made informing the parents of the situation, could you imagine the swarm of people that would descend on Nebo. All for naught, because the deputies would not allow you to check your child out until the all clear was given. Someone would press the situation and deputies would have to arrest irrational parents rather than take care of the matter at hand. When you send your child to a government school, like it or not, you are giving the school de facto parental powers, and the law would be on the school's side.

In the meantime, turn the water off at the tank. There will be a shutoff valve at the top,. Make other arrangements if you plan on a hot shower in the morning. Any handyman worth his salt can check it and replace it for you in a day.
