  1. I am in complete agreement with you! I will always choose to shop at a small local store whenever possible. I don't know about anyone else, but I find that small business owners are generally friendlier, more helpful and just so much more pleasant to deal with. When I shop at the large discount store I usually can't wait to get out the door. I had he best experience this past Saturday morning when I stopped by The Bookworm to drop off some books. Everyone was super friendly (even if they were dressed a little funny) and I picked up a few books that were in new condition for a gr
  2. Low Google that user name. You will find a whole lot of info including name and where he's from. A lot of people have a tendency to use the same name on multiple boards. He's most likely a bike enthusiast that's looking for a new Harley. Your bike for sale post most likely popped up on a google search.
  3. Now that is something I would do! Do you try and cook turkey with the bag inside too? Did you say you like books down there? v Boy do I have books! Check out the Got the Goods forum! http://paulding.com/forum/index.php/topic/277872-books-other-miscthings/
  4. Looks like one of those "before" and "after" pics.
  5. OMG I'm due for an eye exam but seriously, doesn't that first guy's picture look like Ethan Hawke (on crack)? And I haven't heard the word "doper" used in forever.
  6. I know how that feels. My cousin John, a SI firefighter died that day, as did a friend of mine and my younger brother who was stationed at the Pentagon. Some lived in towns that I had lived in and although I don't remember them well, I recognize the names. I was born in NYC, not far from where the towers were later built. When I got older and moved away from home, my first apartment was in the city. And a few ones after that. I lived there, worked there and loved it there for quite a few years of my life. It was my home. Watching the footage on tv that day, I felt the gut wrenching em
  7. Once you get the drainage problem solved, you will need to waterproof the masonry surfaces to prevent that mold and mildew smell. Fact and MSDS sheets http://www.ugl.com/drylokMasonry/masonryWaterproofer/latex.php
  8. Call me but I have noticed that squirrels are becoming much bolder than usual. It used to be that a squirrel would turn tail and run away when a human got close. Lately I've noticed that if I walk out my door and one is on my deck it whirls to face me and gives me that frozen SQUIRREL STARE. All I can think of is this little varmint attaching itself to my leg and gnawing away. And omg....freaky if one happens to be in a tree above me. I instinctively protect my jugular vein! I hate squirrels.
  9. Well you know that coming to a complete stop at an intersection causes a lot of wear and tear on your car's brakes. Just like driving in the rain with your headlights on drains your car battery. Oh, and using your signals to let other drivers know what you are doing is just totally unnecessary.
  10. I never, ever buy anything food related in Wal Mart. Their meat is gross and the produce is most always rotting. Gross. If one would dress appropriately when going to WalMart then one wouldn't get gro Never mind.
  11. Welcome.....I thought you might want to know that the website link in your signature does not work. There's way too many https and wwws and dot coms in there.
  12. I do quite a bit of shopping online these days for things. Amazon is my friend. I hate going to stores most of the time. It seems like 90% of the time they don't have what I'm looking for anyway. My question is, for those who do a lot of online shopping....do you post a review for most of the items that you purchase? Do you find that most of the reviews that are posted for items that you are looking at are helpful...or just ridiculous?
  13. We've always used this place for house rentals on the Outer Banks. http://www.joelambjr.com/ There's quite a bit of information on things to do, restaurants and events on that site also.
  14. Unbelievable. Nothing about the defense case added up to reasonable doubt. Not a shred of common sense went into that jury room imo. One would almost have to think that anyone can get away with murder unless they are caught holding the body with blood splattered all over them. I thought the same thing at first, but now I just think that a lot of people are reluctant to judge when it needs to be done according to the law. Sad. Professional juries?
  15. In honor of Les Paul's (what would have been) 96th birthday Google search put this online yesterday and extended it one more day. http://www.google.com/webhp?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&channel=s&hl=en&source=hp&biw=960&bih=410&btnG=Google+Search I wonder how much guitar music got composed in offices around the world yesterday. You can view some compositions here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/06/10/the-best-les-paul-google-guitar-songs_n_874805.html#s290201&title=The_Beatles_ (I hope these links work)
  16. [quote name=Lady Raider' timestamp='1307723754' post='3465220' yes she is playing it for everything she can right now. if she does not won't to hear or see it she can wavier her rights to be in the court room. but noooooo she wants to put on a show the jury. I just hope the jury can see through all of her acting. It is amazing how she is crying and breaking down when the state is questing but when her lawyer gets to question her head comes up and she is fine. she recovers really fast. For anyone who has doubts...this is precisely the reason why the courtrooom was "rearranged" so
  17. I read somewhere that TruTV will be showing the rest of jury selection and the trial live. I'm just not interested in watching her anymore...I've seen way too much already.
  18. I hate the terminology that has cropped up among kids the last few years... "He disrespected me." Heck, you've got to learn what "respect" is before you can feel disrespected.
  19. Pfffft! You'll poke your eye out with that umbrellee. (Nice pic).
  20. Yep. "Swimmin' wit da fishes" I hope someone stuck one of those little US flags in his hand before he went for a swim.
  21. You took the words right out of my mouth head.
  22. Holy Chimney! That's a lot. Think of the money you'll save. Get a BIG jar and put 4 or 5 bucks in every day (rounding it out). Next year you'll have enough to go on a nice vacation. And you won't have to be stepping out on a balcony for a smoke either.
  23. There's the Mighty 8th Air Force Museum near Savannah. I've been there, and thought it was great. We visited with a WWII vet who was a pilot and flew b-52 bombers. Quite an experience. http://www.mightyeighth.org/home.htm
  24. DGITW, are you sure you weren't in Camden...just across the river from Philly? I think that Camden officially took first place as the most dangerous city in the US to live in 2010. My husband spent some of his growing up years very near there. It's been a long time since I've been near Trenton, I do remember driving past the State prison and of course the Capitol on school field trips.
  25. You forgot Irish whiskey! And my namesake....Maureen O'Hara. (It took almost my whole lifetime for my mom to admit that one) The Irish are a stubborn people for sure. My parents were both born in Ireland and came to the US in their late teens. I grew up living with grandparents and extended Irish-born family in close proximity. To this day I can still do a mean Irish brogue...mostly if I get a few in me. Every once in a while in normal conversation I slip and say something like "wee" instead of "little" or "small". Some day I hope to visit Ireland and look up re
