Why didn't she ask for their manager? I'm bottom-heavy and would probably have been asked to leave too. Her top was a size small but most bikini-wearers are ready to flop out of their tops anyway.

National Guard soldiers, airmen to be furloughed
J'smom replied to xxrsellars's topic in RECENT TOPICS
My neighbor's in the National Guard and has one day a week--for 11 weeks--that will be furloughed. 88 hours of pay lost, not to mention the time lost and extra day's worth of work crammed in. -
I worked in an ENT for 2 1/2 years and the doc would do the ear tubes in adults there in the office. I was a nurse and assisted the doc in the room with the procedure. Kids would be done in outpatient surgery because they won't hold still. Anyway, for adults, a topical anesthetic is applied to the ear drum (a couple of drops). Under a microscope, the tympanic membrane is punctured with a special tool and the fluid is suctioned. The tube (which is the size of the tip of an ink pen) is inserted and put in place. Sometimes a few drops of antibiotic ear drops will be put in. That's it. Som

It's a Ford. The thing that bugged me is they were so quick to blame my phone and acted like it was a big deal to order a new microphone. They called me two weeks later to let me know the microphone was in, so can they close the ticket out or do I still need it? It just seems like I'm bothering them with this, especially since it's a new car and still under warranty so I'm not paying for any of it.

I bought a new car a few months ago and the bluetooth is AWFUL! I can hear on my end, but whomever I'm talking to says it sounds like I've got all my windows rolled down while driving 90. The dealership said it's a problem with my phone (before I got out of the car to explain the situation) and told me to power it down and that should do the trick. Thing is, I've had this same phone with the bluetooth on my previous vehicle and a rental car with no problems. Hubby has his phone also linked to this bluetooth and the same issue happens with his phone too. Any suggestions as to what I can do

My 5th grader never had cursive until the last month of 5th grade, when they had to write their spelling words in cursive--once. Literally, they only had spelling words one time and had to write them in cursive one time. He never had cursive in K-4 either.

Good Samaritan passes away after saving a stranger's drowning child
J'smom replied to LUMPY's topic in RECENT TOPICS
So sad to hear this about a truly great person. His mom was on the news yesterday when he was in ICU and said it wouldn't be long. At least now his body is healed again. Prayers for his family and friends and the little girl he was trying to rescue. -
My grandmother taught me to sign my name when I was in 2nd grade. I turned in a homework assignment with my name written in cursive and the teacher, in red ink, wrote "not yet!" on it. I was officially taught in 3rd grade. My upcoming 6th grader doesn't know it because it's not taught. Hold it, his 5th grade teacher had them do their spelling words in cursive, the one week they actually HAD spelling words. And no, penmanship isn't taught, just like grammar and punctuation aren't graded on homework, which is why my oldest failed the writing test.

Yay!! We love them! Mr. McGhee is great with the kids.

I wish I could fill out the bra! If the jeans were my size I'd get them. Looks like my Harley experience will be limited to being a passenger. I was in the training class and wrecked. Big time wrecked. Lost control, bike went down, I went down and over, knocked down the rider next to me. Road rash on my right side, knee, and shoulder; sprained right knee and foot/ankle, and bruised elbow. We had just gotten enough speed to get our feet off the ground and I went left, my brain went "bye-bye" and I forgot the brake. Wish I could ride my own.

McGhee's Tae Kwon Do in the Kroger shopping center on Ridge Rd at Dallas Nebo Rd. Love it. They start with Tiger Cubs (3/4 year olds) and go all the way to adult classes, plus they offer kisado fitness classes for anyone who wants it. The instructors are great and it teaches martial arts and discipline. My oldest has been going there 2 years now, and this is the same kid who gets bored halfway through one season of a sport. The instructor addresses everyone as sir or ma'am and requires the same from his students.

I make darn good spaghetti and lasagna. The Italian Oven in Austell has awesome bread, as does Ippilito's in Kennesaw on Barrett Pkwy next to Olive Garden.

When a man holds the door open for me I say thank you and smile. I'll even hold the door open when possible. My 11-year-old son will now hold the door open (makes me so proud) and so many people are flustered by it. They just assume he's in the way and he'll tell them to go ahead, they get this bewildered look on their face and manage to sputter out a "thank you." Cell phones have given people a license to be rude. I don't care if I'm talking or playing a game while I'm waiting, when the person I'm waiting on comes in, whether it's a server at a restaurant, doctor/nurse at my appoint

I am born and raised in Georgia by Georgia born-and-bred parents and Georgia/Alabama born-and-bred grandparents. My grandparents had a maid in the 60's. I HATE the N-word and have never used it and hate to hear it. It's a painful word to most blacks and has terrible connotations and shouldn't be used at all. That being said, I think Food Network went too far. She was asked, under oath, if she had ever used the word and she answered honestly that she had--20 years ago. So, should everyone who said that word ever in their life be fired? What about Leonardo DiCaprio--isn't that all his cha

Good men don't bite women on the butt. They kiss it. Anyway, what really annoys me is when my groceries are bagged wrong at the grocery store. When I was a teenager working in a grocery store, all employees were trained on bagging even if that wasn't our primary job. It drives me up the wall when raw meat and deli lunch meat are in the same bag, not to mention being a huge health risk, and when the eggs are lying on top of the bread or chips. Or the other extreme, when each breakable item is in its own bag.

Who do I contact about requesting street lights on my street?
J'smom replied to jdoxakis01's topic in RECENT TOPICS
We're in a neighborhood and the front street has streetlights but the back 2/3 of the subdivision doesn't. I asked our HOA and she told me that the individual homeowner had to request the streetlights and pay for them with their own power bill. My only problem with that is--it was a NEW neighborhood and the houses were EMPTY! I think the builder just stopped and has since abandoned the neighborhood--stopping construction one house shy of being forced to put street lights in the rest of the neighborhood (if they sold a set amount of homes then it would be handled by the builder and HOA but t -
Who do you think was (is) the greatest President?

Lincoln reunited the country during our darkest time and freed the slaves. Washington stood against the most powerful country in the world so we could be free from the British. Teddy Roosevelt--heck, we got teddy bears because of him! Andrew Jackson--one of the wildest inauguration parties ever at the White House! LOL -
I don't put it up on the belt but I will lift the end so they can scan it.

Don't walk in the middle of the parking lot aisles. Try to stay to one side or the other so I can drive past you. For the love of God, do NOT bag my groceries wrong. Bread and chips can go together, don't need a separate bag for one loaf of bread and one bag of chips (just put the bread on bottom). Do NOT put deli meat in the same bag with raw meat. When I take the time to put the items on the belt grouped by pantry/fridge/freezer, don't throw them together randomly. It's all hubby could do to stop me from calling and complaining about it one time! If you're working in retail, m

We went last summer and loved it. I hadn't been in years and hubby and 11-year-old had never been. Lots of great rides and wave pool and lazy river. The kid's areas have their own water filtration system and the water is circulated at a much higher rate. Yes, some kids got sick 15 years ago when a two-year-old wore a regular diaper and had diarrhea while in the water and other kids in the pool swallowed the water. Six Flags bought it after that and pumped a lot of money into it to clean it up and tighten up their filtration system. The water is circulated so much faster than ever before

Only if he'll get a chance to play. Denver screwed him over. He was promised to be their starter--then Peyton was available and they dropped Tebow like a hot potato. That was wrong on their part. The Jets never gave him a chance and didn't let him run the plays he's good at.

Is this irresponsible or just the way of the world?

Definitely call family first. We had a death in the family a few years back and we'd all been posting on Facebook during the process. It was a family member in the hospital for a couple of months, up and down, intensive care, regular room, on ventilator and off vent, dialysis, the whole nine yards. I know I had friends that would ask about his status every day if I didn't post, so my friends were on the journey with me. After the family had been notified of his death (most of the family was in the room when he passed) and THEN we started putting it on Facebook. Our FB friends had gotten h -
I've lived in Cobb/Paulding counties my entire life and there was only one time when I was preparing a safe area--April 27, 2011 (the Birmingham/Ringgold tornadoes). I set a big comforter in the bathtub, got the dog leashes down and within easy reach, put flashlights by every person in the house, got the helmets out, and even had our shoes and jeans in the bathroom so we could grab the dogs on our way to the bathroom. Every other time I'll watch TV or check AccuWeather on my phone. We don't hear sirens at our house, and apparently that's a big problem with Paulding county. Maybe the county

I think the OP is referring to the military who served regarding the Vietnam vets as being the greatest generation, whereas most people (including myself) refer to the US population--military and civilian. Our military was fighting a huge world-wide threat that had already taken many lives, including American lives at Pearl Harbor, and the civilians here in the states really stepped up in a way not seen before or since. Women went to the factories and families sacrificed many things at home, just think about the rations and gas cards. It wasn't just the military, it was the entire US that g
