Hip, sarcastic, flippant responses are seen as cool from a very young age. People can ridicule Leave It to Beaver, The Brady Bunch and The Cosby Show, but these family units were intact and modeled solid values, unlike today's mostly dysfunctional media

Paulding Historical Society has for some time had a fund drive going, to create a proper memorial at New Hope Cemetery. A ceremony was held there a year or so ago to unveil a temporary marker, and Sandy Purl attended. The marker is close to the road, directly across from the church.

Just curious, what would the younger generation call it? Except for the ten-year period from 1965-1975 when the same location was called Cape Kennedy, space missions all launched from Cape Canaveral. Many of the older generation kept calling it Cape Canaveral, even when it was Cape Kennedy.

1) It is an administrative and payroll nightmare. 2) Utilities must still function, reducing savings. 3) Fuel savings for county vehicles not in operation. etc. The state and county have been having furlough days for the past two years. I think the adulation is because it is a rare thing to have a young star player live his life the way that he does. Any comtempt toward Tebow is basically not directed at him personally, but a reaction to this type of coverage.

A preliminary survey was made about six weeks ago via phone, e-mail and hard copy, asking stakeholders to prioritize various features of the calendar (start and end dates, different breaks, etc.) The results from this survey are being used to create the options on which the community is then asked to provide feedback. There is a St. Vincent de Paul thrift shop in downtown Dallas, across from St. Vincent de Paul church. The St. Vincent de Paul Society is an international Catholic organization that provides goods and services to the underprivileged. There is also a very large Goodwill shop in Hiram, on 278. These are both excellent locations in which to make donations.
