Son turning 10...where/what to do for his birthday?
pcs-charli replied to MamaJess's topic in RECENT TOPICS
How about an overnight camping party-zombies and all. Tanner has a great campground and they are open after Labor day-Red top is too-I think. The VFW park on 101-towards Bremen, also has a nice campground -
I am in the home remodeling business, and have a few suggestions. Both Home Depot and Lowes have ready made cabinets that are both decently made and practical in price. Often you can get specials by getting their credit card, or waiting for a sale or buying seconds or slightly damaged goods-all very easy to fix and cost effective. It's not hard to figure what you need. You can just measure what you have if you're going to use the same configuration, or have one of them work up a new design. They usually will do it free. Then, get on line and see who has what, especially for damaged pieces. Usu

From what I read and saw, it wasn't even because he beat up his kid, it was more because the kid mouthed off to him-his ego not his parental emotion. He is the one who set up the fight-kind of a street fight where he got to "referee". It looked like they shook hands after the son got beat up (HMMM-would have liked to hear that short conversatin- "hey, good job, look at that you knocked him out") Then there was something about the man saying how would you like me to knock you around and the kid answered with a smart remark, and he beat the snot out of him. I still can't figure what the kids mot

Due to the lack of camps, I've decided to take in a few kids. It would certainly help with the family finances while we wait ( and wait, and wait ) for things to get better in the remodeling business. I have a big yard, and all the sports and craft stuff immaginable to keep it fun . I am a cub scout leader with a background in education and nutrition, and a life time of working with kids. I am located off Ridge Rd. and 61. If you or anyone else is interested, call me at 770-577-2409

Thanks-that was a really interesting site-I put it on my favorites. -
last year I switched all my insurance to American family. My agent is Kevin Head-right next door to Cheeseburger Bobby's. I've been very happy with the agent and the company. i saved a bunch of money, and although I had a small claim right away (auto) they were right on it and I had no problems. Look them up and check out their rates. I think you'll be pleased.

I agree-I spent 20+ years in south Florida, and went to many hurricane parties-that was all over after Andrew! No more parties, it was board up and get out! We were well north of Andrew when it hit, and it was a smaller, compact though fierce hurricane. The Palm Beaches got enough rain and wind, and it was a scary night for sure, but the next day, trying to get into Miami was something I will never forget. Utter devestation-homes blown to pieces, roads impassable, trees stripped of leaves and bark. It looked like a war zone. It was days befor we could get in with emergency supplies. People were -
I moved into my house with an above ground pool before my grandson was born-still, a few months later he was born and living with us soon after that. I was terrified and was going to take down the pool, but grandpa said "don't worry, I'll teach him to swim" Two locking gates, several special locks, and every manner of early warning system later, summer came, and true to his word, grandpa got him into the pool and in no time he was swimming. Still, I shudder to think of the consequences of a neighbors kid wandering in when I forget to pull the gate shut! This is a sad lesson for us all-we can'

I've posted before about the stuff I bought, but had to buy a huge container. i could sell you 1 application for $35-bring your sprayer. It has Precor. Used it on my infestation (left by a renter) and they are gone-didn't need a second application or anything. Did the inside and out-works great.

everything is handled through the school's counselor-bags are packed with a list of how many and what age only ( of coarse any food allergies are also noted),& delivered to the right classroom. the teacher puts the bags into the back pack during recess or lunch-no one knows about it but the teacher and the counselor. We got the go ahead from the school board to expand into any school without prior approval from them-thanks to a Pcomer-and now we are better able to move forward with other schools. Have to get the counselors on board, and put together volunteers and donations to make it wor

I know this will sound crazy, but Dr. Schools has that machine you stand on and it tells you what kind of special shoe insert to buy. My grandson went to several podiatrists and we were about to buy the $350.oo inserts he suggested. A friend recommended going this route 1st as it helped her, and the $50 or $60 was a lot easier to deal with since we don't have insurance. they have worked beautifully, and not only is he out of pain, but he is starting to walk more naturally and even running better. You might give that a try!

Grandparenting is such a great joy-and they always seem to be so much better than your own kids! Brandon stays here with us permanently, so I don't get to do the spoil them and send them home thing. Wouldn't change that for the world though. He is the perfect child! ( don't tell that other mom in the booger post! i don't want to argue the point with her!) yesterday he was questioning me about business liscenses, and permits, and making flyers. I asked him what it was all about, and he told me he was going into business cutting lawns to help out with the bills around here-he's only 9!! How dang

i make all my renters carry renters insurance-it only costs $10 to $15 a month thru my agent in Hiram-American Family. Every landlord should require it. It not only protects the renter, but the landlord as well, from liability in slip and falls, etc. That was the best advice my agent gave me, and the 1st one to explain it to me. Thanks Kevin (Head) I appreciate the info, and an agent who is looking out for my best interests. Sure he makes money off it-he's supposed to. Why else would you be in business? I had a man go over to a renters place to remove the trash off the back deck (when they woul

I got a sales call at 2:15 AM- I have a daughter with Lupus, and i jumped out of bed thinking it was her on the way to the hospital again. If they were standing in front of me, I would have chocked them to death, then shot them!

Yes, I agree-the greatest service at a really reaasonable price-keep up the good work guys. We need more business that do their job and do it well

we have from 15 to 20 families we serve, depending on the circumstances-who lost a jo, who just moved in, who just moved out, etc. Right now we are just in New Georgia, but hope to expand into other schools. There is a need everywhere. What we would need is a volunteer to stat the ball rolling in each school-get a few more to help, put the word out for food, get the principal and counselor on board, ask their PTA or a local church to write a letter asking for donations, identify the children with the need, and meet every Friday to pack bags and get them to the teachers. I would love to see it

yes -we keep the stuff in one of the available trailers, and then the kids get it in their pack during the day and might not get home with it till late. Others keep it in ther backpack all weekend, and eat out of it on their own. some might not have refrigeration at home-every childs situation is different.
