  1. WOW-had some scrap metal and decided to go to the local place down on 92 and Ridge Rd. Grandpa waited 45 minutes for the place to open, and when it did some kids breezed right in ahead of him and were being waited on. Of coarse, he wasn't gonna stand there and have that happen. He told the worker he was there 1st-didn't matter to them, they were going to take their friends 1st!!!! He protested and was told to leave (that's a nice version of what happened. WTH I will never go there again. What's with people? Don't they know anything about customer service? Don't they care? Personally, I thin
  2. I've got the sinus thing too!! same # 770-577-2409
  3. why is it that when I post for renters or workers in the newspaper, all I get is dead beats and drunks, etc. , but when I post in the social web sites (especially locally ) I get great results? I'm just curious. Doesn't seem to make any sense, you'd expect the same results for both, and the newspapers are expensive ( except Dallas New Era!! Great little newspaper) Why is it that dead beats read the news paper, and winners troll the social web sites? Just sayin!
  4. Just checking on you-hope you're finally over the creeping crud!!! I have had my share of it too-tooth problems and then sinus infection. I have someone that will deliver the bread this thursday, so don't worry about a thing-let me know when you're up and around again!!
  5. This whole "fat kids in Ga" thing is really starting to bug me. I even got a call from a cousin up north who saw a special on how 80%of our kids here are overweight. I'd like to add my 2 cents. Yes, there are way to many children who are overweight-but not all of them are that way because they eat to much, or their parents don't fed them right. Let me tell you about my situation. "Buzz' came to live with me permanently, when he was barely 3. He had been exposed to meth and crack smoke. His teeth were badly rotted, he had digestive problems, and was diagnosed with asthma and allergies. The d
  6. WOW-no offense meant to your horses (I just LOVE horses!!!), but I've always known my ex was a horses a$$, I just didn't know I was smart enough to treat him like one while we were together-at least in the 1st aid dept-LOL!!
  7. Yummy-we called it scout stew!!
  8. just one of many!!!!-makes for interesting (but weird) conversation sometimes.
  9. cut a little slit where it is located, and put on some drawing salve-it's call something like iccathalmide( really bad spelling there-but the pharmasist will know what you're talking about)-we always called it "icky" salve! Put a dab on a bandaid-cover the spot and wait. My ex had a huge lump that suddenly came up on his back, but no opening. We had no idea what it was, and having no insurance, we tried doing that- didn't even make a little slit, cause we didn't know there was something inside causing it. In 3 days (put new salve on it every day) an opening appeared-very small-I pressed on it
  10. I've learned to trust Mother Nature-my daffodils are not only popping up, but some are blooming!! WE may still have a cold snap, or even snow, but spring is here to stay. Mom (Ms. Nature) says it's going to be a short winter.
  11. On Facebook, there are several yard sale sites, including "Paulding County Online GarageSale", another one of the same name with a "version 2.0", 2 Douglasville Yard Sale sites, and even one for just phones. If you get on one, ask to be invited to the others. It will sell fast if you price it reasonably,
  12. They certainly aren't adults yet, but in their minds they think they are. What they don't realize, especially if they hadn't had any responsibility, is that a lot of work goes along with the title. So, it's a good time to lay that burden on them and let them taste the reality of adulthood. We all know it is not the party an 18 year old thinks it will be. At 18, he should be making his own money and paying some of his own bills. He should be well used to the responsibilities he has for his family-whatever theses may be (chores, etc.), and doing them without a lot of prompting and argueing. He
  13. Divorce situations are so difficult to deal with when one or the other or both have trouble communicating. The kids learn early to play one against the other. If this is your situation, I am sorry for you and the struggle you must go through.I went through it too, and there are many more of us out there. Just remember that in time he will be an adult and will see things differently. Your attempts to help him to grow up will be appreciated and maybe even copied on his own kids. My favorit saying-and how true it is- is this "YOU ARE RAISING AN ADULT, NOT A BABY". So many parents forget this-or
  14. a little lipo-suction on those boobies maybe-that's what happens when you don't do anything to build musle when you're young.Ed is old as the hills, but I can still apreciate the "man he was' when he's in his bathing suit-and he's stronger than most men in their 30's!!
  15. Strep is a terible illness, and much more resistant than in the past. Don't worry, just get better-we appreciate all you've done in the last few months. Make very sure to disinfect your house-the germ lives for a long time on inanimate objects. Wash your dishes and glasses in the hottest water in you dish washer, and add a splash of clorox (put a splash in the toilet too! Do it every day. Do your towels and pillow cases and sheets. Us a Clorox wipe on all phones and anything you might have breathed on. Don't forget to get rid of your toothbrush and disinfect the glass you use in the bathroom.
  16. she picks up at my house off Friendship Church RD and brings it to Poole elementary-it's a little late now as the bags have probably been stufed and delivered. I appriciate the offer though.

  18. not that I am aware of-but someone might have picked it up-this has been a grass roots movement and we are only just getting organized. Another Pcommer has put together a spread sheet with info-call your school and ask
  19. So, there i am, making the bigest meal of the year-Crown Roast of Pork with many fixins! using all my dishes and pots and pans, when a kid comes to the door and tells me "my tree is spitting water". Would have liked to have seen the look on my face as i sorted out this information. ( head tilted to the side, eyebrows up and somewhat crooked, mouth open as i had no idea what to say to this bit of news) After some questioning, which was going nowhere, we went out to look, and lo and behold, MY TREE WAS IN FACT SPITTING WATER!! Well. at least the base of the tree was. Seems that the plumber who w
  20. Yes, we are still doing the back pack program. This is a great time to donate too! On the last day of school, the volunteers loaded up their back packs with lots of food to last for the holiday. Paulding Angels on a Mission (Monique Hobbs) made 120 hand made Christmas stockings and filled them with donations-they were so cute and the kids loved them. Most of the schools have depleted their resources and really need the food. Please call me at 770-577-2409. Oh, by the way, I did not start the program. A pastors wife started here locally, and when they were moved to a new church I decided to co
  21. I have a cocker now and a spitz mix, and still don't know of any of my friends pit bulls who have bitten anyone.I do wear a coyote jacket though and love it! ( just trying to keep this thread on subject)
  22. Actually, the full name is Edgepoint United Methodist. The new pastor felt their were to many churches within a small area who had the name "Fellowship" included with their church name and wanted to make ours stand out somehow-oh well!!
