AGG - I am just entering this era of my DDs life....so I don't have a lot of experience. My two DID get allowance based on their grade. I day DID. They were to do chores (dishes, cleaning, help with laundry, etc), but when Hubby and I had to start yelling to get things done, the money stopped. Hubby would pay them once a month, like most government jobs pay, and if they spent it before the month was out - so sorry, but no more money. At 15, I opened an e-account at bank. Please also know that later tomorrow - from 5 - 9pm - Life Church is also hosting Youth Explosion. There are 5 - 6 Youth Drama Teams presenting. Our Youth, from Christ Central Dallas, will be participating. Please bring your middle and high schoolers to see the gifts these talented young people are going to be sharing. They are asking that people bring canned goods or non-perishable food items to build up the food bank.

Check with the Paulding DFACS office....My employer has partnered with Douglas County DFACS previously and they will usually give you full information on what to do. I've headed it up in the past, and I get a letter detailing contacts, dollar ranges (they usually want a certain $$ amount spent on each child - depending upon their age), drop off info, etc. Have fun!

Anyone have any info on this? It happened at entrance of my subdivision....of course in the 11 years I've been here, this makes about 10 cars that have run into the same tree/off road at same place....It took a lady dying to get the bushes at the front signage cut down (I had complained to DOT for weeks). People speed down this road all the time - its 45 limit, but I've seen some blow by doing 60 or more.

My kids name my one-skillet creations "prison food" - often though, they call it that until they taste it, and like it - then they say "will you make more of that stuff"

Anything zombie-ish can be created from stuf around the house. Old tshirts, button up shirts, jeans - light makeup (or can use light dusting of flour) with purple and green eyeshadows to gie the creepy look (use the eyeshadows on the face though). Or if you want to go "not scary" - wear a suit, carry a drink glass around, and you're a politician! (Wait - that is scary!!! )

I have a Droid 2 - it's a battery hog!!! FYI - you can go on to Amazon and find chargers for cheap! I just got an extra wall charger and extra car charger for 97 cents (of course I had to pay $2.98 shipping, but for a little over $3 I got extra chargers) As for apps - my kids LOVE the games..course I've only downloaded the freebies thus far.

The issue isn't if you have a gas oven - it's whether you have an old one with a standing pilot or not. Most ovens made in the last 10 yrs or so have electronic ignitions, so you can pretty much use the oven cleaners with out a problem. HOWEVER - I know certain ovens have a self cleaning setting, and you DO NOT want to use any sort of spray on those. Hope this helps a little. You can always try looking up the model of your stove on the net for an operating manual.

I used to have some sweater bands years ago...try one of the "higher end" stores...Belks, Dillards, Parisian, or Macy's. I got mine from Macy's in the jewelry/accessories section. Hope this at least gets you in the right direction.Good luck!

Listening to the report on WSB, they made the comment that "both drivers" stated she was walking in the roadway, not on the side of the road....so not too sure whether this is classed as a hit and run. I looked at both WSB and Fox5 and couldn't find any links, but I do know that it was reported on WSB.

Was she young...say college age?

I know she just started recently, but I'm sure she can get info on others from her director.

She was a student at HHS (Senior), was in chorus as well. Dr. Freeman made the announcement at school yesterday according to DD. We also found out last night that she was the niece of a fellow church goer/youth leader. Please pray for the family situation. while I will not go into what was discussed, it is not the best. Hadn't heard anything about t-shirts, but will add info if DD mentions it. t was on WSB last night, and it was stated that due to "health issues" the mother did not have any income, and was not sure how she would pay for funeral.
