  1. Hey Rhonda or Britainie - I am looking for a copy of the Secret Benedict Society and the Prisoners Dilemna...can you help me?
  2. LPPT - it sounds like the no-see-ums to me. The LOVE me as well. The sting feels like fire, then itches horribly. I don't get the welt like you describe, but I understand your pain. Instead of taking Benedryl orally, try getting the liquid, and when you get a bite, apply it to the skin locally. That may help. (And CVS has a little pen-looking anti-itch spray that works good too.) Good luck - hopefully they will be hiding away soon!
  3. Linda Lee - I tried to follow the previous post about the class, but lost track. Can you PM me info on cost, meeting times, location? I would greatly apreciate it!
  4. A couple of folks I know went to Toni & Guy...not sure where they are based (I think Kennesaw), but they are on the web.
  5. Heeeeyyyyy ....I know you!!! Welcome!!
  6. Unfortunately, she sounds like my Emma...'cept mine is a teen and stands about 5'2"! LOL
  7. I am in the midst of this as we speak (type)....No, you do not have to add student with Learner's Permit to insurance. As long as they have their Learner's, you do not have to add them.....BUT the moment they get their full Driver's License, you MUST add them...AND you cannot remove them until they no longer live in your house or until they get their own policy. (I have State Farm and as long as DD has her Learner's (will be 2 yrs in July), I don't have to add her, but once she gets her License, I have to add her...and they told me that even if she messes up with grades and "I" take her Lice
  8. Brandon Mitchell at Christ Central Church in Dallas teaches guitar and drums. Very reasonable rates. PM me if interested in his info, and I will give you his number.
  9. Perhaps you could speak to your local Kroger/Food Lion/Publix to see if they would let her set up at the door area. I've found that if you go to Sam's and buy a box of Blow-Pops, sell them for a quarter each, and you will make some money. Used it for my kid's camp fundraiser @ work.
  10. Do the local honey thing...it totally works!
  11. Well, now with that wording...yeah, I'd be upset like you were too. A permission note is one thing...but poa is another in my book. Hopefully, with all this now behind you, you can plan future travels a set plan in place that is agreeable to all parties. Don't let this stop you from enjoying time away with your hubby...as a mom of two teens...you need to catch a break every now and then.
  12. Jenilyn - hate that you had to do the full circle of emotions...you obviously are concerned for your child, as you left him/her in the care of a family member that is looking out for the best interests of the child. I am wondering though...was the document just a note/letter stating that "so-and-so has my permission to seek medical treatment for my child, xxxx, in the event of an emergency" (which is what I would write) or was it an actual "power of attorney"? Not that it really matters, but it would clarify the situation....the note I understand...power of attorney - not so much.
  13. And I understand what you are saying as well...I would most definitely have an issue regarding a full "legal document" - power of attorney, living will, etc, being done without my knowledge. However, this sounds like it was merely a permission slip to seek medical attention. As someone stated above, the ER workers would stabilize your child, but would then need to contact you regarding further treatment. I have always done this with my girls...often because they are with my MIL in another city (not paulding county) where the medical records wouldn't necessarily be accessible (like if they were
  14. I don't see what the issue is...it sounds like the note was merely a "permission slip" allowing her to seek medical attention. Any doctor, hospital, etc. would contact you to find out allergies, etc. I have always done this for any person that I have left my children in the care of for more than say 2 days - if I would be far enough away to not be able to get back right away in the event of an emergency. I write it out that they have permission to seek medical attention, list dob, insurance info, allergies, and contact numbers. I wouldn't take it as being sneaky...She was thinking of your
  15. I'm not a member, but TNT is the bomb! Our Pastor's wife, Tara, and Worship Leader, Christy, joined TNT last year and have both lost right at 100 lbs...the transformation has been amazing! There are a lot of folks from our church, Christ Central Dallas, that go there..so NY Gal - you won't be alone. Good Luck!
  16. check with Piblix...they usually have discounted passes...as well as if you have someone that had passes last year (we did), you get emails offering different perks to renew your passes.
  17. Imma jump in on this...not that Imma mechanic or anything...but I agree with checking the coil packs. I have an F150 and for a while every time it was foggy or rained, it wouldn't start. Turned out to be the farthest back coil pack wasn't sealing all the way and letting moisture in, thus the lack of firing and sputtering when it did start. Being you were washing it, that would be where I would start. You don't have to "wash the engine", just the spray from the washer is enough to settle in places you wouldn't think possible. Good luck
  18. Brownsville Rd store in Powder Springs closed about a week or two ago.
  19. Someone posted on here several months ago that they would do private lessons...
  20. Waste Industries has a $9.99 per month deal ($29.97 a quarter) right now. You have to call them to get the deal - EVEN FOR EXISTING CUSTOMERS THEY WILL LOWER THE PRICE. :clapping:
  21. If I've told you once, I've told you a hundred times....I really hate that song!
  22. Not sure what the "rules" are, but they just converted a farmhouse on Brownsville Rd to a Senior Center (Cobb County).
  23. He is not messing with you!! I have an 11 lb min pin chi mix, and when we got him, our neighbor called us hollering about not letting him outside without someone being there. when he finally calmed down, he explained that there were two cats skattin' across the field behind his house....suddenly a huge hawk swooped down, snatched one up, and commenced to having a meal in the trees. Needless to say, the other cat sped up to get outta there! The vulture-things seem to be getting bolder about snatching stuff, versus scavenging anymore. I live near Taylor Farm, and there was one of those b
