  2. The antique/flea market place on Brownsville Road had several yesterday...not sure of cost but they did have two different size wire kennels (?) and one plastic carrier.
  3. CE - thanks for sharing - I have seen that car (if it's the mustang mentioned) several times, and it gets me every time....AND I KNOW IT'S FOR SALE!!! and I have to thank you and Sadie (?) for the post the other day abuot talk to the hand....My DD and I got a great laugh with that - then she started in on me in a text msg with the same one liners! hahahaha
  4. Live near there....got circular yesterday...grand opening tomorrow - wed 4/21 - looks like every other store, you have to have a shopper card to get deal prices. Although, they have a coupon for a new rx you get a gift card.
  5. I live right around the corner from there, and according to my DD, he has one or two more of the longhorns. She says they see them when on the bus going to the s/d next to the farm. Have you seen all the goats? DD keeps asking if she can get a baby one - UH NO!!! But she did say that for the first couple days of this week, one of the goats had his head stuck in the fence - you know, the grass is always greener!!!
  6. To the OP: after having been a part of a food ministry that asked for donations when shopping, while so many people say "that should be only for the needy" - in light of today's economy, right now it's just smart shopping. Don't get me wrong, there are people that do take advantage of the free food banks, however as a hard-working mom, every little bit of savings helps. Often times the food is donated, or sold at a very low cost. And also note that if they have a building/warehouse,they incur utility bills, insurance, and often times freight bills to get the food to their location. If y
  7. Have you tried a credit union? We refi'd with IBM SE CU and it was easy as pie. and the closing costs were 1/4 to 1/5 of what other banks wanted to charge. As for the thread - lived here for 11 years - dislike the decline in my neighborhood, am not real happy with schools (but that's another day), but love the convenience of not being "in the city", yet having access to everything we need. My family from SF Bay Area think we live in the country because we have trees in our "huge" yards
  8. I don't smoke, and I'm definitely not defending the practice - it's littering and hazardous, but most cars now don't even have an ashtray anymore.
  9. What most parents have forgotten is that the school calendars were originally designed around the cycle of planting and harvesting, as our country was based on agriculture. (As our nation became more industrialized, we've moved away from that way of life, relying on other countries imports to handle our demands, and complaining the whole time about our lack of exports.) As a parent, no, I don't like the early August start. Not only do I have a certain amount of vacation days that I can plan, but most of the other parents that I work with are also trying to schedule off days at the same time.
  10. I have a 20 yr old sister, 19 yr old adopted brother, 17 yr old adopted brother - my oldest dd is 15. My mother was pregnant when I got married - SHE waddled down the aisle!!
  11. Take a look at Juice Plus. They are tablets that have full servings of fruits and vegetables in tablet form. I am one that usually catches everything that blows my way, and I started on the Orchard and Garden Blends in November, and have been doing great. They are not "vitamins" but actual powdered servings of fruits n veggies. They also have a Vineyard blend that is supposed to aid with memory, etc.
  12. No boys here....but after reading the posts......what about Bryson Alexander?
  13. Love's closed before Christmas. There is a new Wings n Fish place there now. (Brownsville Rd near intersection of 92)
  14. Rotis chicken with bbq beans and slaw - all found in the deli
  15. I understand your frustration.....they keep trying to tax me on my neighbor's outbuilding. I've had to have it removed a couple of times over the past few years. I could see the confusion if they visited the site, but when you look at the plat, it's clear the building is not on my property.
